- Hideaway bolthole for two on Caribbeanesque Anti Paxos
- For adventurous guests only
- 50 metres from water's edge
- Creature comforts catered for
Our Simpson Secret concept has become a firm favourite with the more adventurous of our clientele and being on 'the road less travelled' has real appeal to those who wish to relax and unwind when normal rules may not apply.
A short 20-minute boat trip from Paxos will set you on Anti Paxos, a tiny island measuring just 12 square kilometres, and boasting five tavernas (open only for lunch), no proper roads, no shops and three or four old jalopies that the locals brought over in prehistoric times. But, what Anti Paxos lacks in modern facilities, it more than makes up for it with its beauty – two glorious Caribbeanesque white beaches and a translucent turquoise sea, plus the opportunity to touch a time far removed from the 21st century.
This delightful, romantic, open-plan bolthole has sublime sea views and is just a seven-minute walk from the bay below. Although not luxurious, all your creature comforts are provided, including regular hot water, comfortable beds, quality linen and a contemporary kitchen, plus a small private plunge pool on the terrace for cooling off whilst sipping that decadent holiday cocktail.
There are also a few thoughtful additions, including a pre-shopping service for groceries, a couple of bicycles, the mobile number for our representative, plus a daily public sea taxi from Voutoumi and Vrika beaches to Paxos (weather dependent).
However, on rare occasions when things need fixing it can take a little longer than normal and if this could try your patience, it's may be better to consider one of our other Simpson Secrets.
The walk to the tavernas and the two beaches from the cottage will take 45-60 minutes or the bicycle will get you there quicker and a late afternoon swim on a deserted beach when the day visitors have departed is an experience that will stay with you long after the suntan has faded. And finally, spend the evening on your terrace in the balmy silent night beneath a canopy of distant stars allowing your senses to reawaken even further.
- For holidays booked from 28 May to 11 June and 17-24 September the tavernas on Anti Paxos may not be open. However, additional shopping orders from Paxos can be telephoned through to our representative with delivery to the cottage for €60 plus cost of food.
- The daily sea taxis from Vrika and Voutoumi to Paxos run from mid-June to mid-September.

Wow! What a fantastic tranquil spot this is, and such a glorious view! This is the perfect retreat from the hustle, bustle and stresses of everyday life back home. We have pretty much walked all over the island from Vrika to the Lighthouse and many of the paths that intersect. The people here are super friendly. We both hope that you also enjoy your holiday at this most relaxing of places to be.
Carole & Steve – September 2017
Castaway Cottage is perfect. We literally have done nothing, apart from snorkel in the turquoise waters of the Ionian below the house. Thousands of fish and wonderful shells to be soon in the gloriously warm sea! We had some delicious food cooked on the BBQ, homemade burgers, kebabs accompanied by fresh salad... yum!We have really enjoyed 'getting away from it all'
Mel & Tracy – August 2017
Castaway cottage is exactly that. a haven of peace + quiet with fantastic views. We have had a great week with long walks to Vrika which takes about 50 mins. We love the sandy beach there. Shorter walks to Voulomi, pebbly beach which was empty when we went at 4pm - swimming great. Sad to leave, plenty of BBQ fuel left - we had several. Another great Simpson holiday.
Maureen & Richard Field – September 2016
Last year we spent 3 weeks here. This year we have been here for 4 weeks. This, I think, is testament to how we feel about Anti-Paxos. There aren't enough adjectives to describe this place. All we know is that we have been privileged to spend one month with people of the kindest and most generous disposition... the inhabitants of Anti Paxos. Their hospitality and trust comes from the time of our childhood and we hope any other visitors here will extend the same graciousness and respect that they show we, the more affluent visitors. We will miss the peace and tranquility. Enjoy!
Susan & John Reynolds – September 2016
We have enjoyed our week. We have enjoyed watching the boats/ships come and go including the small boats searching out hidden coves. For a couple of 70+ it has been adventurous we haven't used the mountain bike, I'll leave that to our 13 year old grandson who has no sense of fear. All in all a great relaxing week reading and sleeping as well as walking and the occasional swim in the sea.
Raven Family – July 2016
Our first holiday with Simpson, very impressed and a step up from other tour operators in the area. To fly in and out of Heathrow on British Airways was the icing on the cake and a huge plus point in looking to book next year...and the year after!
Mr Wood – August 2015
An enjoyable week and proof that romance and a sense of adventure live on for those aged 60+. We love the house - nicely done, everything that you could need, and of course, the view is sensational.
Mr Davies – June 2015
We felt honoured to be the pioneers to stay at Simpson Secret Anti Paxos - what a privilege! We had an awesome week full of adventure, sun and relaxation. The house is amazing - we enjoyed most evenings in the plunge pool cooling down from the day.
Mrs Westby – June 2015
Our choice of Greek properties is as diverse as the islands themselves, ranging from simple seaside charm to genuine luxury and style. Much of our portfolio is privately owned, and price alone is therefore not a universal guide. We contract all our accommodation in person, and each property has its individual appeal. To help you make the right choice based on your own priorities, we have devised a simple grading guide to be considered in conjunction with each individual property description, awarding up to a maximum of five stars for the below categories.

There are few better ways of relaxing than on a luxury holiday in Paxos, where days fill up beautifully with sunbathing, swimming, snorkelling and dining in style, the sea just metres from your table. Amble through ancient olive groves and you’ll catch glimpses of startlingly turquoise bays, the dramatic west-coast cliffs or the Epiros Mountains. In spring, there’s also a haze of purple honesty, wild irises and lilies and a sky that’s alive with birdlife, from hawks to skylarks.
