A wonderful couple of weeks back in Skopelos for the third time and just as beautiful as ever. Marcia’s tips were great again and the time flew by as we pottered our way around the island. We loved the views from Villa Flora, with buzzards riding the thermals around us and the cats keeping us company. We had a great day at sea having hired a boat from Nikos and Dora, which we definitely recommend. Many thanks to everyone at Simpson Travel and of course to Marcia and Kostas for looking after us so well. P.s. The cats like tuna and there’s a small kitten who hides down by where you park the car. Very Cute.
Martin & Heidi – August 2018
We had a most relaxing week in the adorable Flora Cottage. The views across the valley and over to Skopelos town are spectacular. Every aspect of the holiday was taken care of by the efficient and friendly Simpson Travel representatives. A special mention for Marcia, who was brilliant. We would definitely recommend Simpson Travel and look forward to booking another holiday with them in the not too distant future.
Wendy Redpath – July 2018
This was our second stay on Skopelos after first coming here five years ago. We fell in love with Flora Cottage as soon as we opened the front door. We spent most of our time by the pool, reading, relaxing and swimming and then headed into town each evening. We found many wonderful places to eat, some more traditional than others, but just ask Marcia, the fabulous Simpson Travel representative, and she will give you great suggestions. Our one day out and about was spent having coffee at Panormos Beach which has a lovely setting and crystal clear water. We then went on to Glossa, walked up the old streets and had a lovely lunch. That and the views make Flora the perfect place.
Karen & Gary – July 2018
This has been our third Simpson holiday – but our first time in Skopelos – what a truly wonderful island. Flora Cottage is such a beautiful place, with breathtaking views and so peaceful – just what we needed. Overall, this has been an amazing relaxing holiday – just what the doctor ordered. Kasta, Martina and their son are beautiful people and his dog too. Thank you for sharing Flora Cottage, we feel so blessed. Marcia, you truly are a beautiful lady and have made us feel so welcome – thank you for all your recommendations – each one was an adventure. You are an amazing ambassador for Simpson Travel! We will be back!
Michael & Helen – September 2017
A wonderful two weeks in this idyllic setting. Early morning tea on the bedroom balcony watching the sun rise across Skopelos town; daytime (and nighttime) dips in the pool; drinks on the balcony in the evening before going into town. Views to die for.
Ian & Penny – September 2017
This has been our first visit to Skopelos and it has been a real pleasure to stay at Flora Cottage – thank you Costas and Martina for sharing your lovely home! We have loved relaxing here and visiting the many beautiful places on the island previously mentioned. We tried several of the local recommended restaurants...all were good. Thank you Marcia for your warm welcome to the island, your great suggestions and advice.
Amanda & Chris – August 2017
Flora Cottage was perfect for a quiet location with fabulous views. Skopelos is a beautiful island and we had a wonderful time there. Our rep was excellent with lots of useful information on the island including tips for timings, beaches and restaurants. Highlights for us: Milia beach, Three Trees, Stafilos beach and sunset at Panormos. Excellent overall experience with Simpson Travel, who we'll certainly use again.
Mrs Rosten – August 2017
Flora Cottage is a haven of peace and seclusion with amazing views. Lovely to sit on the balcony or swim in the pool or melt in the heat. A warm welcome was extended by Marcia – thank you – and Costas and Martina and their son. Away from Flora we enjoyed the more local beaches especially 'Three Trees' – gorgeous.
Diane & Hugh – July 2017
This is our first visit to Skopelos and it has been excellent – but not our first trip with Simpson Travel. It is worth saying that we continue to choose Simpson Travel because their organisation is so good and in depth. From booking to arrival at Flora Cottage we have been efficiently and well looked after by all their staff. Their representative, Marcia, has been brilliant! Always cheerful and a mine of local knowledge, she gave us such an excellent briefing at the start of the holiday so we could refine our plans. Mostly we relaxed by the pool, but tripped around the island for 3 or 4 days. Flora Cottage itself was all that we expected and more! There are the incredible views, the pool, the comfortable bed and all the comforts of Mediterranean living. Adding to this is the cooling to the bedroom which makes such a refreshing end to the lovely days! We met Costa and Martina, the owners of Flora, and they kindly gave us some eggs from the hens! Knowing that Marcia was always available should the need arrive was a comfort and we found her visits useful, fun and a great help. Altogether an excellent fortnight!
Milue & Aina – June 2017
This has been a lovely stay at the end of the summer. For next year's visitors: don't miss Three Trees – it's the loveliest spot on the island. The food, especially the fish at Agnondas is great. All Marcia recommended was good. We wish we could take it all home!
Mr Jones – September 2016
Simpson Travel never fails to deliver a hassle free service from start to finish to ensure everything from booking to travel to accommodation is easy and efficient and the properties are always well chosen and wonderful in setting and form. The representatives once there could not be more helpful.
Ms Handford – August 2016
Peace and quiet – just what we found at Flora Cottage. The island is charming and a wonderful surprise. Do take the time to wander the streets of Skopelos Town which gives the feeling of being lived in today and managed from the past. It is beautifully kept and the people are welcoming. For beaches we can recommend Limnonari and Perivoli. To eat – nothing is bad, but our choices are Anna's, Perivoli, Zoupa and Kiratso Kitchen. Marcia –thank you for all your tips and suggestions. All very helpful!
Mr Robertson – September 2016
Oh, what an island! The smell of pine as you drive through the roads/tracks is so refreshing! So peaceful to sit in the shade of the pines that look out over the turquoise water. We have spent many hours wandering through the alleyways in the town and every time we found more streets and more churches. For food we recommend Agnanti in Glossa, Olivo and Molos in Skopelos. All had great food and really friendly staff. Marcia, thank you for all your advice and support. We were really well looked after, first by Jane in Skiathos and then by Marcia in Skopelos. Our 30th wedding anniversary is definitely one we will remember fondly! Thank you again!
Mrs Hilton – September 2016
We would like to thank Marcia for looking after us during our stay on this beautiful island. Coming, as we do, from Scotland the promise of outside dining is by far the loveliest sensation to be experienced during our stay in Skopelos. Although other highlights are many and varied, our award for 'Highlight of the week' must go to the Limnonari Taverna where we 'gate-crashed' a Mamma Mia themed wedding reception. Outstanding experience!
Mrs Baxter – August 2016
We have had a wonderful week at Flora Cottage, with very nice weather. It's our fourth Simpson Travel villa and again, it has been as we have come to expect, firstly and most important for us, private! It's a well-equipped villa and has a gorgeous pool. We are not really beach bunnies, we came to chill and enjoy Greek cuisine. Agnanti in Glossa is very good, very welcoming hosts and service. Muses on the left before you reach town is also very good, both in service and food. We had pleasant lunches in the taverna overlooking the port. Perivoli has lovely gardens, good food, wine and it is lovely to sit and eat under the vines. Lastly, a thanks to Marcia for advice and a gift – we hope to return!
Mrs Johnstone – June 2016
Our first time travelling with Simpson Travel and we were impressed from start to finish. Having travelled with many tour operators we can honestly say that this is the best experience we have ever enjoyed.
Mr Farmer – May 2016
Our first part of the holiday in Flora Cottage has been unbeatable! Highlights so far were Marcia – brilliant person, full of help and advice, Anna's restaurant, the peace and space in the villa, the pirate graves in Sedoukia and Panormos beach. Looking forward to our second week in Gardenia Cottage!
Mr Seed – August 2015
Totally impressed from start to finish with our holiday. Very professional and knowledgeable staff, wonderful accommodation – true to description on the website. Our rep was superb and went over and above our expectations to help and advise us to get the very best from our holiday. Thank you Simpson Travel for making our dream holiday a reality!
Mrs Foster – August 2015
It has been an interesting week to stay at Flora Cottage. We have truly enjoyed our time in Skopelos. The island is beautiful and verdant. Blue skies, crystal clear water and friendly people. Some of our highlights are a trip to Agios Ioannis climbing the 220 steps to the top was worthwhile but go early to avoid crowds; a sailing trip to nearby Alonissos and visiting the old town of Chora; lunch at Agnanti – delicious food with a wonderful view from the balcony; eating fresh fish at Pavlo's in the beautiful bay of Agnontas; Ambrossia Patisserie in Skopelos Town for mouth-watering baklava and walnut pie, never mind the honey-balls. And don't forget to visit the monasteries up the hill. Flora Cottage is beautiful. We have loved the magical views from the balcony, especially at night time. Relaxing around the pool is so peaceful! Marcia is an exceptional Simpson Travel representative – very helpful with lots of local information. We have many memories to take home with us!
Mr Maude – June 2015
Great week and lovely weather! We relaxed by the pool, which is a godsend when the weather is hot, walked to the Limnonari and Kastani beaches, went kayaking and spent an excellent day with great people. Our favourite places to eat were Agnanti in Glossa and Anna's in Skopelos town. Marcia is just brilliant – nothing is too much trouble for her. Very relaxing holiday!
Mr McLauchlan – June 2015
Flora Cottage is truly breathtaking! Everything you might need has been thought of in the villa; the pool is delightful and the views are stunning! To sit and watch the sunset from the balcony was one of the many highlights. Even if you have never done it before, a day of kayaking is, in our opinion, a 'must do'. Paddling through the crystal clear waters around the Mamma Mia church and visiting hidden, white, sandy beaches was unforgettable. Limnonari beach is beautiful for sunbathing, swimming and snorkelling. The Three Trees area is a beautiful spot and also good for snorkelling. The best places for eating were Alexander's at the top of the town – very peaceful; also Muses – very friendly staff. Agnanti in Glossa was gorgeous and we were very lucky to have a balcony table! Marcia is a mine of useful information. Thank you all for a fabulous holiday/honeymoon!
Mr Cowan – June 2015
Had a fabulous week, loved the peacefulness and privacy of the villa, enjoyed exploring and felt very relaxed.
Mr and Mrs Woodhouse – August 2014
'The road less travelled' – I was at a slight loss to understand what this meant before our holiday to Skopelos in Greece (this being our first time with Simpson Travel). Well when we got to our villa and completed the journey there, I fully understood what this actually meant to me as the traveller. Our villa was well off the beaten track but was unique for it. The views were just outstanding – never had I seen such a panorama from every window and balcony! Our Simpson Travel rep (Marcia) was knowledgeable, kind, courteous and extremely helpful. The cleanliness of the villa was exceptional and so were the facilities. My wife and I felt we had been on holiday for weeks after only the first 24 hours – a feat in itself. Thank you Simpson Travel and Marcia.
Mr Gaind – August 2014
What a lovely time we had! Skopelos is a beautiful island where everyone is so friendly and welcoming. We spent two weeks either lounging by the pool or stretched out on a nearby beach. Nowhere was too far to get to and if you wanted to search out a little cove to take your picnic, you could! Flora Cottage was everything we wanted. Comfy and airy. The air-conditioning in the bedroom was a godsend. The welcome pack when we arrived set us up until we could shop. There are plenty of bakeries and grocery shops in the nearby town. The countryside around us was full of goats, their bells ringing, chickens and a donkey braying! Very relaxing and far from the madding crowd! We would definitely recommend this holiday and would love to go back.
Mrs Martin – June 2014
Our choice of Greek properties is as diverse as the islands themselves, ranging from simple seaside charm to genuine luxury and style. Much of our portfolio is privately owned, and price alone is therefore not a universal guide. We contract all our accommodation in person, and each property has its individual appeal. To help you make the right choice based on your own priorities, we have devised a simple grading guide to be considered in conjunction with each individual property description, awarding up to a maximum of five stars for the below categories.
* For further clarification on Facilities and Amenities, please view the 'Details' tab for each property or speak to one of our experienced sales consultants.
A trip to this idyllic location – wonderfully green, unspoilt and peaceful – is about enjoying a world which moves at a different pace. Skopelos Town is a Traditional Settlement of Outstanding Beauty and you’ll find Ottoman and Venetian influences in the island’s 300 monasteries and churches. However, from the mountains and deep pine and horse chestnut woods at the island’s heart to the tiny coves, sleepy beaches and abundant wildlife, this is truly a destination for nature lovers and the romantic at heart.
Choose a luxury villa in Skopelos and you'll soon understand why they filmed Mamma Mia! here.
