  • Comfortable refurbished villa
  • Set in an extensive manicured garden
  • Ideal for two families travelling together
  • Delightful outdoor pergola

A warm welcome at the end of a private road, the recently refurbished Casa Brilli is a comfortable choice near the Renaissance town of Castiglion Fiorentino. Beyond the generous garden, perfect for little ones to let off steam, you have the rolling Tuscan countryside in all its glory. There’s also a large private pool and an outside dining area beneath a shady pergola for the kind of leisurely mealtimes Italy is famous for.

One of the great advantages of Casa Brilli is the flexibility of the accommodation it offers. Ideal for two families travelling together or a group of friends, the two floors have separate entrances and their own kitchens, living areas and contemporary bath or shower room. Upstairs, there’s a master bedroom and a twin room with bunk beds; downstairs there’s a twin (or double if you prefer), as well as a larger kitchen and working fireplace. For two couples or young families, it can tick all the right boxes.

Early mornings, Giancarlo, the father of the owner, Roberto, can sometimes be seen pottering about the vegetable patch in a corner of the spacious grounds, the likely outcome being a selection of vegetables picked fresh for you, as well as newly-laid eggs for breakfast from the resident chickens. He takes great pride in Casa Brilli – and the traditional touches that were woven into the refurbishments; his enthusiasm is infectious.

The local area

You’ll find everything you need in the impressive Renaissance town of Castiglion Fiorentino, just 6km away. Rising above the Valdichiana Plain, if offers banks, shops and chemists as well atmospheric bars, traditional squares, open-air restaurants and culture aplenty – the old Gothic church of San Francesco and the Madonna della Consolazione temple are worth a visit.

Cortona, 14km away, is a jewel of a hilltop town that is still pleasantly free from tourists. From there, you have lovely views across to nearby Lake Trasimeno. During the last week of August and the first in September, it also hosts one of the most important antique furniture fairs in Europe, the Cortonantiquaria, in the 17th-century Palazzo Vagnotti.

Arezzo, 22km away, is also close at hand with its churches, museums, restaurants and Roman ruins to absorb you on a day trip. There’s also a twice-yearly jousting competition, La Giostra del Saracino, in June and September, with much pageantry and a healthy dose of competition.

Customer feedback

We have just been here for the week and wished it was much more! Beautiufyul Tuscan countryside mixed with the kind welcome of Roberto and Giancarlo. We were given a lovely box of local cakes on our arrival and got to listen to Giancarlo's music box! the pool has been wonderful to relax in and the boys have had great fun here.
The Harrisons – August 2017

We have had such a lovely stay at Casa Brilli and wish we were not leaving ! The villa has been ideal it has everything you need and the air con in the bedrooms is an added bonus. Thank you so much to Roberto and parents - they have gone out of their way to make sure we have had everything we needed we have loved seeing Roberto's father each day who comes to water the plants. He's so kind and friendly - if only we spoke more Italian! Sienna is about an hour away and definitely worth a trip - beautiful plaza and cathedral. About 30 mins away is a large lake which is worth a trip - the water is even warmer that the pool and in the main part of the village at the top of the hill is a lovely street with nice cafes, bars and another impressive church. Great views of the lake from here. Thank you so much Roberto & family for your hospitality, generosity and hosting. We have had a fabulous week!
The Jones' – August 2017

We’ve had a wonderful stay here and really look forward to returning one day! We spent most of our days at the pool resting and swimming and went out to the towns in the evening for dinner! Giancarlo and Roberta were lovely hosts! We will be back!
Annemieke, Mark and Clara – July 2017

We have had a very relaxing and enjoyable week at Villa Brilli. Roberto and his parents have been very friendly and welcoming and we particularly enjoyed the vegetables and fruit from here - the tomatoes in particular were delicious not to mention the melons and aubergines! A wonderful way to spend a week in this beautiful area of Italy.
The Procler Family – July 2017

This is the second time we have stayed at Casa Brilli. The first was 10 years ago! The inside has been completely renovated and modernised since then and the addition of the gazebo is the garden provides some additional shade from the sun.  Other than that, everything is just as typically Tuscan as we remember. Giancarlo comes by almost every day to water the plants and tend to his chickens and ‘ensalata’. I wish we knew more Italian because he is so friendly and generous offering us ensalata and cherries fresh from the tree – very sweet.  We had such fond memories of him from last time and again he really looked after us. Roberta has been very helpful and kind too. Nothing is too much trouble for them. We’ve had (another) fabulous holiday. Hopefully we won’t leave it another 10 years. Thank you Roberta, Giancarlo, Theresa for looking after us and for your hospitality!
The Gill Family – June 2017

Happy to give you feedback: Our experience at Casa Brilli was wonderful. The welcome from the Brilli family was so friendly and they were exceptionally attentive and generous when they visited each day to tend to their allotment. The villa was very well stocked and there was more than enough linen and towels etc. The pool was amazing for a villa pool, very large and the garden area and patio area were just great.
Mrs Watt – July 2013

Casa Brilli is in an excellent location. It’s a little off the beaten track, and away from many of the well known parts of Tuscany, but this was ideal for us as we have visited Tuscany a number of times so were looking for something a bit different. The villa itself was well equipped, comfortable and very spacious. Having a pool all to ourselves was an absolute cherry on the cake. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful – they even made us gifts of wine and fruit. The area does not seem to have many British tourists so you have to enter the spirit and be prepared to engage in a little Italian – but it’s well worth it and the restaurants and shops are all really friendly. Nearby Cortona is well worth a visit.
Mr Wainwright – August 2012

We have had a wonderful holiday in Casa Brilli. The villa is very well equipped and the pool area is stunning. The villa is in a great location for the surrounding towns and villages. We will definitely be back.
The Whites – August 2012

A relaxing week in a lovely spot.... Beautiful pool and gardens, well equipped villa and wonderful hospitality!
The Hamiltons – July 2012

Thank you for a fantastic holiday, most relaxing! No problems with Casa Brilli, the pool was very well used! Molto grazie to Giancarlo, his local wine is very palatable!!
Adam, Julie & Caroline – July 2011

We had a good time at the villa, I am glad we got a swimming pool Roberto’s father was very kind in leaving us wine and letting us pick some of his veg. I think this is a good rental and in a good place for touring. The train station at Castiglion Fiorentino had free parking and so was easy to get to Firenze. I would certainly recommend this villa.
Mr Boorman – July 2011

Enjoy your stay.Look after the Brilli Family. They are truly wonderful. Thank you - we have had a fantastic holiday. The pool was great fun. Wine and food marvellous.
Curtis-Machin & Family – July 2011

This is the second year in a row we have visited Casa Brilli. We have been overwhelmed again by the generosity and hospitality shown by both of you. 'Il Pollo' was fantastic again and Giancarlo's harmonica playing was really entertaining. The boys have loved the wonderful garden and pool and all the fresh fruit and vegetables have gone down a treat as did the home made wine. Visits to Arezzo and Montepulciano were well worth the journey and the trip to watch Fiorentina play Paterno was a brilliant experience. We really appreciate everything you have done for us to make our stay so memorable and hope to see you both again soon.
Hughes Family – August 2010

Tuscany is a truly magical place. We drank copious amounts of cheap red wine. Our hosts have been amazing. Grazie Giancarlo and Theresa.
The Hinton Family – February 2010

Thank you so much of the wonderful hospitality (eggs, wine and plums from the trees - sorry we didn't manage to eat them all!) It has been an amazing holiday. The surrounding countryside and house are so beautiful. The more we visit Cortona and around - the more we want to keep coming back to this magical place.
The Haynes Family – October 2009

The perfect holiday immersed in beautiful Tuscan countryside. The house is more than well-equipped and is clean and very well maintained. Giancarlo (the caretaker) is very sweet and will sort out any problems you may have (although we did not have any). A good position to explore all the beautiful hilltop villages - Cortona is a must and also Castliglion Fiorentina. We had a lovely holiday and will be returning next year.
Lisia, Mike, Natasia and Ella – September 2009

This is our second visit to this magical place, a peaceful haven in our most favourite part of the world. Again Giancarlo was an absolute star with wine, pears and insalata. Two weeks is just not enough!
Zoe, Simon and Pat – September 2009

This is the second year in a row we have visited Casa Brilli. We have been overwhelmed again by the generosity and hospitality shown towards us by both of you. Il Pollo (chicken) was fantastic! The boys have loved the wonderful garden and pool and all the fresh home grown fruit and veg has gone down a treat, as did the homemade wine. Visits to Montepulciano and Arrezzo were well worth the journey and the trip to watch Fiorentina and Palermo was a brilliant experience. We really appreciate everything you have done for us to make our stay so memorable and we hope to see you again before too long. We will miss you both.
Tim & Wendy Hughes – August 2009

We have had a fantastic time at Casa Brilli! Weather really hot so pool used every day. Our favourite place was Cortona but we also visited Siena, Florence, Arrezzo, Castiglioni di Lago. Shopping really good at the co-op in town and had some great meals at Roggi restaurant. Giancarlo has been a great host and has looked after us really well with gifts of fruit, eggs, veg and pastries which were delicious.
Hutchinson Family – August 2009

When you feel sad to be leaving, it's a sign of enjoyment. Casa Brilli, pool, gardens and environs have all been truly enjoyable. Many thanks to Giancarlo for the fruit and wine and for keeping the pools and garden so well. Trips to Castiglion Fiorentino, Siena, Cortona, San Gimignano and Florence all very pleasurable, particularly sampling wines at the various enotecas.
Maureen & Nick Searing – September 2008

We have had an absolutely fantastic holiday. The swimming pool is lovely as is the house and Giancarlo is extremely helpful. There is a lot to do in the area. Cortona is a beautiful town, great shops and restaurants. Arezzo and Siena are also well worth a visit and Assisi (although a bit further away) is well worth a visit.
The Greens – August 2008

Many thanks for your generosity and a magnificent holiday.
