Our first visit to Skopelos and the absolutely delightful Arpaki Cottage – total seclusion, peaceful and the ideal place to get away from the hectic life – very comfortable. We visited many places on Skopelos, from top to bottom, cannot fault any of the places, but favourites include Panormos Beach and Limonari. Both stunning in different ways – all around are beautiful pine forests, the swimming is subline. Restaurants – Pablo’s Rest Taverna, Anna’s, Muaes, Aganaili in Glussa – lovely views. Thank you, Marcia, for your guidance and recommendations. Our week has been full and enjoyable and we will certainly be back again. P.S. Please feed the cat, we named him Elios – there is only one!
Linda & Stephen – September 2018
Our 10th holiday with Simpson Travel and we are never disappointed. First visit to the beautiful island of Skopelos – the villa, beaches, restaurants and tavernas were excellent. The people very friendly. We will be returning next year.
Mr & Mrs Doman – September 2018
We enjoyed the special views, peaceful yet convenient location and the tremendous pool and outside terraces that Arpaki Cottage offered us. Special thanks goes to Marcia, the Simpson Travel representative, for her help, knowledge and enthusiasm, Dimitri and Stella for their hospitality (eggs and cakes) and to Katie and her fellow cleaner. Top trips were the Mamma Mia church, the boat trip on ‘Lily’, the walk to the Three Pines and exploring the old town.
Ian & Alison – July 2018
We have had an excellent stay here, and done very little but relax and use the excellent faclities. Thank you to Stella and Dimitri for their hospitality. Skopelos is green and beautiful and is very different and unspoiled, so driving is a pleasure to see the sights of this lovely island. The town has a wide range of places to eat and we have not had a bad meal. Marcia has been very helpful and her local knowledge has been invaluable and she has made everything run smoothly without any fault.
Sally & Arthur – September 2017
We have loved every minute of our stay on Skopelos – it's a beautiful island, so green! Arpaki Cottage, in its beautiful, peaceful setting, has been an ideal base from which to explore the island but also, with its many seating areas, somewhere we could just relax and catch up on our reading. Thank you Marcia for all your advice and tips. A thank you to Dimitri for the delicious cherries.
Shona & Andrew – September 2017
Arpaki Cottage is in a beautiful situation with good outdoor seating areas, lovely views and within easy reach of Skopelos town. Marcia is one of the most helpful reps we've met so far on our Simpson Travel and the owners of the cottage were very friendly and helpful. Overall I think we rather fell in love with Skopelos!
Mrs Hadfield – September 2017
This was our second Simpson Travel holiday and it was as brilliantly organised and smooth running as our first, last year. We thoroughly enjoyed it and want to go back again!
Mrs Clay – July 2017
Firstly a warm appreciation of Marcia and the team. They were all friendly and helpful and added a lot to the holiday. We were return vistors to the island. If anything it is more stunning in June than it was in September. We enjoyed checking out our favorite places from three years ago, pretty well unchanged thankfully. Thanks to Dmitri and Stella for the pies – a lovely touch and much appreciated as was Marcia in her 'over and above' role in our key moment.
Rhona & Steve – June 2017
Lovely relaxing and peaceful holiday in beautiful surroundings. Fantastic end of season weather. We recommend renting a boat from Dimitri's at Elios Beach. Great fun! Do visit the Monastery of Metamorphosis – its chapel is stunning! Walk to 'Three Pines' in Agnondas and stop on the way back for a swim in the clearest water! Lunch or dinner at Agnanti in Glossa is a must. Thanks to Simpson Travel and especially to Marcia – nothing was too much trouble for her. Thanks also to the people of Skopelos – extremely friendly and welcoming!
Dr Butt – August 2015
This was our first time in Skopelos and we really enjoyed visiting different beaches, monasteries and restaurants. Particularly enjoyed Milia beach, our trip to the Mamma Mia chapel and the monasteries. Thanks to Marcia for her helpful tips – she is a great asset to Simpson Travel!
Mr Everett – August 2015
This has been a perfect holiday! We have been able to relax and unwind. Now we have lots of great memories from our time here. Little Arpaki Cottage has been a charming and comfortable place. Thank you Marcia for a warm and friendly welcome to Skopelos and for the tips for making the most of our stay. A lovely lady, very helpful, super efficient and wonderfully friendly. We've eaten fantastically well. Our favourite restaurants were Klimataria and To Rodi. We liked Limnonari and Panormos beach for swimming. Snorkelling at the Three Pines was well worth it!
Miss Adams – July 2015
Another very successful and enjoyable Simpson Travel holiday. Everything at Arpaki Cottage was up to Simpson Travel's very high standards. We had a great time and are looking forward to our next holiday.
Mr Field – June 2015
As usual the organisation and arrangements for our holiday were handled swiftly and efficiently by Simpson Travel. Skopelos itself was a revelation as our memories of it from the 70s were a bit hazy. Beautiful island for exploring and very friendly wherever you go. Lots of little villages and beaches to visit and plenty of good eating places. Particularly recommend Muses in Skopelos, extremely friendly and excellent food.
Mr Prince – May 2014
We had a wonderful two-week break at Arpaki Cottage. We so enjoyed pool time at Arpaki. It is a special location with fab views – peaceful too. Much enjoyed plum and fig compote from the estate. A big thank you to the owners for keeping the pool in sparkling order. Marcia was so helpful – much appreciated.
Mr and Mrs Gwilliam – August 2013
This really is a wonderful, beautiful, peaceful Greek island. The cottage is perfect in every way.
Mr Holden – June 2013
Huge thanks to the owners, and to Marcia for representing Simpson Travel so well. What a wonderful relaxing week we had, largely doing nothing much, but mooching around the pool with a cold drink. Arpaki Cottage has it all and we made great use of the barbecue. Great times indeed.
Mr Bowett – June 2013
Fabulous two-week stay in Arpaki Cottage. We didn't do much at all but that is what we call a good holiday. Most days have been spent by the pool, enjoying the weather, a cooling dip and the view. We did explore the island for one day and visited the main beaches and the Mamma Mia church. Have to say, each time we saw a beach we decided our pool side lounging was a far more comfortable place to soak up some sun! Evenings were spent eating in a number of tavernas in Skopelos town. The short route into town is fine after a couple of trips when you realise the chances of meeting another car on a tricky bend are very small. Finally, a big thank you to Marcia for representing Simpson Travel so well, and making her visits to us friendly and relaxed. And of course to the owners, for making the house and pool feel so special.
Mr Cleaver – July 2013
Loved the house and pool, and although we found the crickets rather noisy – we got used to them in the end. The Mamma Mia church was a novelty although be aware that filming was only on the outside and inside was far too small. The owners and Marcia were all very attentive and helped make our stay as relaxing as possible. Definitely hope to return!
Mr and Mrs Lane – July 2013
Our choice of Greek properties is as diverse as the islands themselves, ranging from simple seaside charm to genuine luxury and style. Much of our portfolio is privately owned, and price alone is therefore not a universal guide. We contract all our accommodation in person, and each property has its individual appeal. To help you make the right choice based on your own priorities, we have devised a simple grading guide to be considered in conjunction with each individual property description, awarding up to a maximum of five stars for the below categories.
* For further clarification on Facilities and Amenities, please view the 'Details' tab for each property or speak to one of our experienced sales consultants.
A trip to this idyllic location – wonderfully green, unspoilt and peaceful – is about enjoying a world which moves at a different pace. Skopelos Town is a Traditional Settlement of Outstanding Beauty and you’ll find Ottoman and Venetian influences in the island’s 300 monasteries and churches. However, from the mountains and deep pine and horse chestnut woods at the island’s heart to the tiny coves, sleepy beaches and abundant wildlife, this is truly a destination for nature lovers and the romantic at heart.
Choose a luxury villa in Skopelos and you'll soon understand why they filmed Mamma Mia! here.
