In the beautiful Elsa Valley, this light-filled, three-bedroom barn conversion is a beautiful, whiter-than-white combination of function and form, complemented by the lush green of a sprawling lawned garden. Meticulously designed and styled by Rita, the owner who bought the property a number of years ago and set about transforming it with a passion – of all our properties none are so aptly named. She now runs this elegant abode with the help of her three daughters, a psychiatrist, lawyer and teacher, and the only man on the premises is the much loved family labrador, Baloo!

Villa Passione is both romantic and practical, featuring the creative, thoughtful touches that make a stay here such a pleasure: comfortable beds, a bath and shower big enough for two and a kitchen with the gadgets you really want on a lazy summer morning, from juicer to espresso machine. Drift outside through the French doors and there’s a table and chairs for breakfast al fresco.

This is a wonderful home for three couples to share or a family, as there’s plenty of room for everyone to find their own space. In addition to a salt-water swimming pool, a pretty white-painted pergola creates a shady spot with sofas on the large terrace. There’s also a small lake – just ask Rita to give you access. Her home is close by, but tucked away behind thick foliage so you keep your privacy. If you ask, she’ll be delighted to guide you towards the area’s best attractions or share a few of her culinary secrets in a cookery course, paid for locally.

The local area

Villa Passione is 31km from the medieval walled town of San Gimignano, but closer to home is little Corazzano a few kilometres away for stocking up or eating out. Pretty Castelfiorentino, just 9km away, hosts the annual In/Canti & Banchi Festival in the fourth week of May, when streets bustle with performers’ exhibitions and antique markets. Or visit the spa town of Gambassi Terme, 18km away, where you can bathe in the therapeutic waters and admire the local glassware.

Customer feedback

Thank you so much for letting us stay in your fabulous villa. It's been a perfect introduction to Tuscany and we look forward to returning again some day. Although we chose to visit out of season, we were pleasantly surprised with the warm sunny days, which we spent exploring the local area. During our stay we visited Florence, Siena, Certaldo and San Gimignano (twice!). We loved San Gimignano and its cobbled streets and beautiful cafes and shops. A special thank you to Rita for your warm hospitality and helping us make the most of our stay.
Penny, Darren & Ben – October 2017

Thank you so much for a wonderfully relaxing week at Villa Passione.  You have looked after us to perfection. The food was delicious ( next time we have cooking lessons please? ) The weather has been perfect and, as well as visiting lots of lovely cities, we made the most of the tranquility of your beautifully appointed villa. Our batteries are now fully re charged and we are all looking forward to our return.
James, Sara, Richard and Gillian – September 2017

We have really enjoyed our week in your beautiful villa, it's a real home from home. The pool is fantastic and a lovely place to spend afternoons after trips out. Thank you for your hospitality and the tasty Crostini , Lasagne and Chianti. This is one of the nicest villas we have stayed in and the location and peaceful surrounding are lovely. Hope to be back one day...
Carolyn, Simon, Ben & Sam – August 2017

Dear Rita, the 2 weeks we have spent at Villa Passione have flown by! As well as visiting Florence twice, we took your advice and went to Certaldo, Monteriggioni, Spiaggie Bianche and Siena. All were well worth seeing. Climbing the Duomo in Florence is a must but must be booked (this can be done online and you can use a handheld device as a ticket). We also drove down to the Chianti region to tour the villages and taste and buy some wine, but stopped after visiting Panzano and Greve as the distance proved too much for the children in tow. The wines we bought there were lovely but it was also possible to taste and buy good wine in Monteriggioni and San Gimignano. We all loved the beautiful countryside surrounding the villa particularly the fields of sunflowers! We ate out a lot whilst on our trips and had some great meals. We enjoyed the warm hospitality of the Tuscans. We ate at Casa Masi as it got such good reviews from Villa Passione guests before but although it is a lovely looking place to go we didn’t have a good experience there and preferred the restaurant in Corazzano. We would recommend the Erasmus pizzeria in Montaione – it looks rather ordinary but the pizzas are great and the staff were very friendly and delighted to discover that one of our children could speak pretty fluent Spanish. They are about the only place open on a Monday night. We all enjoyed the lovely space and grounds around the villa as well as the lovely pool. The villa was extremely comfortable and it was a lovely experience staying here. Thank you for all the lovely food you prepared for us. Crostini on the night we arrived and then pesto lasagne and lasagne ragù on the evenings we returned to the villa from our Florence outings! It was extremely kind of you to save us from the effort of having to cook on those nights and the dishes were delicious. I will be definitely making my lasagne fresh when we get home from now on! All the best.

We spent a wonderful week in your beautiful villa, loved relaxing by the pool or went on outings to Lucca, Firenze, San Gimignano and Pisa. Millie grazie, especially for your tasty Crostini and your excellent Lasagne - I will try out the recipe at home... We hope to come back to beautiful Tuscany and its fields of sunflowers again soon!
Bruce, Kerstai, Alex & Elisa – July 2017

Thank you for such a lovely relaxing time at Villa Passione. We have so enjoyed the beautiful weather in stunning surroundings – and all too quickly the week has gone! We have found your home a perfect base for day trips out – and thoroughly recommend that future guests do the same. On our list were San Gimignano (delightful), Siena and Firenze – both not to be missed! Villa Passione is beautiful, equipped like home from home, and it’s been a joy to stay here, loved the beautiful pool. Special thanks for such a warm welcome with Crostini and also for our treat of pesto lasagne – mwah! I’m sure we’ll be back…
Mrs Janet Allan – July 2017

Villa Passione is beautiful and peaceful with a huge garden and lots of sitting areas. The house itself is beautifully decorated and immaculate throughout. We were particularly in awe of the huge fridge which churns out its own ice cubes so that we could have permanent cold drinks - and believe me, we were never able to use them all up as they were produced faster than we could use them. The rest of the house has been decorated to a high standard right down to magnifying mirrors in the bathrooms and lots of nice touches around the house. The showers are rain showers with a separate hand/held shower which is great. Rita is a wonderful host who greeted us on arrival with her homemade lasagne and a few days later brought us over an apple cake. We had a lovely holiday with a lovely hostess.

6 of us had a lovely stay in this stunning villa. Plenty of space for all of us, and a wonderful pool. We were very lucky with the weather and only had one overnight shower all week. There were touches like covers for the chairs so we could relax a little with the children, mosquito blinds etc. The garden and surroundings were amazing, classically Tuscan, and the owner Rita very friendly and helpful. The villa was naturally airy in all areas if you opened the windows and doors. The pool is set a little away from the villa but we found this fine. Seating areas and facilities very well thought out and fun A wonderful holiday :)
