We have travelled with Simpson's before and would not hesitate to again. Villa Melia is a lovely villa in a superb position benefiting from a private pool as well as direct sea access from a private pontoon to the most clear water you can imagine. Fabulous views and the villa is well kitted out. The terrace is very private despite the proximity to 2 other villas. A bonus was a really excellent fish taverna just a few metres up the hillside with great food and lovely service. Yiannis the local concierge could not do enough for us, informative about Lefkada and responding very quickly to any queries or requests to book us restaurants with the best tables. We had a lovely week and wished it had been longer!

My three stepsons loved the pontoon and the infinity pool and many games of poker were played at the table with the spectacular view to watch as I got thrashed! Magnificent view over bay. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Simpson Concierge service was invaluable in terms of advice re eating out/excursions/services required. Weather was perfect for us at 24°–28°. Service at eating establishments was incomparable; it was like a step back in time with the care and attention given. People were the stars. They welcomed all with a warm smile and unconditional assistance. The island has not (as yet) been sullied with rampant greed & selfishness (something a couple we met from the UK who’ve been coming for 23 years commented on – and which we found). With self-drive we were able to explore a considerable part of the island, and the inner lands making for some very ‘interesting’ moments. All in all loved it!

We are a family of 5, two adults and three older teenagers. The villa was fabulous, we really didn't need to leave during the day as it was a great setting for lunch and there was an abundance of small supermarkets a 2-minute drive away with brilliant produce. There is a small jetty for diving in the sea at the bottom of the lane, an amazing taverna a few minutes walk away, and the town is about a five-minute drive and the roads are easy to drive on. To make the holiday even more special, our on hand Villa Manager Yiannis booked taxis and restaurants and gave us great advice as to where to go and what to do. This is by far the best villa we have stayed at in Greece, we would thoroughly recommend and Simpson were fabulous to deal with.

Yiannis – what a lovely human being he is and so helpful throughout our stay; booking restaurants, sorting bits and bobs needed in the villa, always so cheerful and making us laugh – thank you. The villa – perfect location and facilities. Everyone happy with their rooms. Fabulous access to the sea for swims and had to tear ourselves away. We ate in the villa 3/7 nights – thanks to Lidl and a well-equipped kitchen. Yiannis found us a gym, which was very well kitted up. We went on a 4-hour sea kayak tour to the Blue Caves (with snorkelling and a picnic lunch). We walked up to the waterfall Nydri, it was pleasant but very busy and not much water at this time of year. Apart from this we just chilled, ate, swam and read.

Villa Melia was a delight. The views were stunning and the accommodation was modern and very comfortable. The shared pontoon in the sea below was an added bonus if you can manage the steps. Supermarkets & Tavernas were within easy reach in Nikiana. There is a steep incline down to the villa so would not recommend for anyone with disabilities. Ioannis, our local concierge, was extremely helpful and responded very quickly to our requests.

Villa Melia is a beautiful, well-designed and furnished villa that was a pleasure to live in. Large windows in every room make the most of the amazing views across the bay to the mountains of mainland Greece. Watch as sunrise reddens the sky above the mountains before lighting up both sky and sea in changing shades of orange, pink and yellow. Take a snorkel as shoals of fish shelter under the jetty. There are two excellent tavernas a short walk away and the rest of Lefkada is in easy driving distance, if you can drag yourself away from such a peaceful place.

Have had an amazing holiday in a fabulous villa. The jetty was a highlight ; we spent a lot of time swimming in the sea. We ate out every night even though we could have stayed at the villa.
