  • Charming seafront property
  • Between Kalami and Kouloura
  • Small path down to the sea
  • Kalami tavernas/shops/beach 10min walk
  • Kouloura 5min walk

Nestled among cypresses and olive trees on the headland between Kalami and Kouloura bays, at first glance, Kalami Bay looks like many other properties in this lovely area. However, this charming two-bedroom villa hides one delightful secret: follow a short path through the grounds and steps take you directly to a flat rocky platform for sunbathing and enjoying the perfectly translucent turquoise of the Ionian Sea. There’s something incredibly energising about sea swimming and a dip in these shallow clear waters is an unforgettable way to start your day.

The villa is simple, light and bright, but spectacular in outlook, with uninterrupted sea views from the partly shaded dining terrace. You can amble into Kalami in just ten minutes to collect a few fresh supplies for lunch, then drowse away a hot afternoon in the shade of one of the ancient olive trees that cocoon the terrace to create an intimate vantage point by day or evening.

There are also a number of tavernas to chose from, including The White House, the former home of Lawrence Durrell, the poet, dramatist and travel writer, best known for writing Prospero's Cell. His brother Gerald, author of My Family and Other Animals, also lived in the area with his family back in the 1930s.

Kalami is also the place to hire a boat and there’s a range of watersports from its Blue Flag beach. Or visit quieter Kouloura Harbour with its famous fish taverna, just a five-minute walk away.

We have had a thoroughly enjoyable week. The views from the terrace are beautiful. Enjoyed our boat trip to Corfu Town. Appreciated the advice and information on Corfu offered by Anna. Lovely week and good location to enjoy the area.

Andrew and Mandy, October 2023

Everything was wonderful! We particularly enjoyed sitting on the terrace with a drink, watching the various boats coming and going. The view, day or night, is simply stunning. We swam every day from the rocks below and the excellent choice of tavernas within walking distance was an added bonus. Anna, the concierge couldn’t have been more helpful and made our time at Kalami Bay even more special.

Mrs Susan Goode, September 2023

We’ve had a great time and done most of the things that we had planned. Anna was very helpful – suggested a trip to the west coast (Paleokastritsa). This was lovely and a little cooler. Will miss the wonderful view of the sea and the bay – and the twice daily swims.

Ken and Sue, June 2023

We arrived too late in the evening to get any food, so Jackie organised a delicious spread of fruit, yoghurt, olives and various Greek treats for supper and the next morning’s breakfast. She welcomed us in person the following day and also sorted a couple of minor issues in double quick time. We can’t sing her praises enough. The island surprised our expectations. The wild flowers at this time of year are spectacular. Every patch of rough ground is a riot of colour with myriad flowering plants competing for your attention. We meandered along coasts and hill paths - where to stop and listen to the gentle buzz of bees and smell the Mediterranean scents is to find yourself in earthly paradise. In short we have had a fabulous week walking and relaxing and eating wonderful food. We will return.

Kernie and Andy, May 2023

We had a relaxing week enjoying the villa the walks the tavernas and the trips. We were unlucky with the weather but this did little to dent our enjoyment. Thank you Jackie, thank you Simpsons, thank you islanders.

Paul Simpson, May 2023

We had a relaxing week enjoying the villa, the walks, the tavernas and trips. Thank you Jackie, thank you Simpson, thank you islanders.

Paul and Dawn, May 2023

We arrived too late to get food, so Jackie had organised a delicious spread of fruit, olives, yoghurt and various Greek treats for supper and next morning's breakfast. She welcomed us in person the next morning and also sorted, in double quick time, a couple of minor issues with the internet connection and hire car - we can't sing her praises enough. In short - we have had fabulous week, walking and relaxing and eating wonderful food. Perfection. We will return.

K and A, April 2023

We had an excellent holiday (despite the weather early on) and our concierge was superb. The quality of the villa was excellent and we felt very welcomed by the local people, which really made our time in Kalami special.

Kerrien Grant, April 2023

Lovely stay at Kalami Bay House. Would love to come again.

Carol and Godfrey, October 2022

Beautiful villa with amazing views, several good restaurants and bars within walking distance. Idyllic.

Susan Bailey, September 2022

We've had a truly wonderful week here at Kalami Bay House. The location and views from the terrace are idyllic and a pleasure to come back to. Thank you very much to Jackie and the Simpson team, we are going home recharged and refreshed.

Katherine, Pete and Tom, August 2022

This villa has the most astounding sea views and the scenery always has something different to hold your attention. One great advantage for us was that you could walk to the tavernas which again all had lovely views. Jackie our concierge was so helpful and friendly and nothing was too much bother for her.

Sally Armitage, June 2022

Kalami Bay House is located in a stunning and tranquil position with relatively easy access by car and foot. There is an excellent choice of tavernas and supermarkets within walking distance. There are delightful walks along the coastal path in both directions. We are definitely considering returning in the near future.

Joyce Mackley, May 2022

A relaxing stay. Beautiful views! Lovely swimming.

Simpson travellers, October 2021

Swimming off the rocks below – bit of a climb down but worth it. We loved Kouloura beach – morning and evening swims – beautiful and quiet.

James & Gill Dockray, September 2021

Very relaxing and enjoyable stay. It’s difficult to drag yourself away from the fabulous veranda and the views below. When we did the lunches at Kouloura were the best and also a great place for a swim in the bay next to it. The walk to Rothschild’s beach and back is also worth doing on an early morning. Swimming at the beach below is fun, just watch your step. Best evening meal, for traditional Greek food, we found to be Dimitris, call and they will collect you and bring you back.

Paul & Rose Cordy, September 2021

A wonderful seven days’ escape – our second stay at Kalami Bay House and we found it all as idyllic as our first in 2019. Worth all the effort and stress of form filling, App downloading and Covid testing. A really big thank you to Jackie who went the extra mile for us and is marvellous! The welcome we received has been amazing. Our visit to Old Perithia in the foothills of Mount Pantokrator was especially memorable. We will be back and hopefully before too long.

Claire & Robert Watson, June 2021

Lovely time, lovely house, spectacular views and was up to the usual high standard we have come to expect from Simpson. The overall customer service has been of the highest standard, as ever, and we have already booked for next year. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful and in these very strange times it provided a memorable escape.

Sue Bailey – via TrustPilot, October 2020

We had a chilled and very relaxing week. The villa was beautiful. The view from the villa is amazing, even when you are washing up! Would definitely stay here again.

Charmaine Carter, October 2020

A wonderful home from home with an amazing view! A lovely holiday with great restaurants in Kalami Bay on the doorstep – for friendly welcome and authentic food, Thomas’s Place was superb. For an upmarket treat try The White House with a table in the scented garden overlooking the bay. A lovely place with good walks along the coast and blue crystal clear water for swimming. I would recommend this location and accommodation.

Stephen Henry, September 2020

We absolutely loved our stay and the fact that we could walk to a beautiful unspoiled beach in about 7 minutes, with the bonus of a really good taverna, and 10 minutes in the other direction to the village and supermarkets.

Carol, September 2019

Stunning views, lots do to in the area such as hire a boat, fantastic restaurants and visit the old town. A charming Greek island destination – highly recommended.

Mrs Silkov-Yianni, August 2019

We have had a wonderful week! The swimming has been fabulous and we all enjoyed swimming from the rocks below the house into Kalami (about a 15-mintue swim). We had a boat trip and also enjoyed walking a bit of the coastal path. This villa is perfect…the view from the terrace is amazing. Di and Simpson Travel have made it all so easy giving us a very much needed relaxing break. We would love to come back!

The Cameron family, August 2019

We have had an idyllic week at Kalami Bay House. Initially a little concerned about booking a villa with no pool as it’s been extremely hot all week. But being able to swim off the rocks below the villa has been a joy and preferable. We have taken the water taxi to Corfu Town and climbed to the top of the old fort (hot, amazing views) and enjoyed the old town’s shops and cafés. We hired a boat for a day. No problems and had a great time pootling up to Kassiopi and mooring in the little bays along the way to swim. We went water-skiing in Kalami Bay and we drove round the coastline to see a little more of the island. We’ll be back as soon as we can. Thanks to Di at Simpson for being marvellous.

Lucy & Tilly, July 2019

Once again, we had a most enjoyable Simpson Travel holiday. Kalami Bay and the adjacent bays and restaurants/tavernas were very much as we expected.

John & Jane, June 2019

Our last day of a fabulous week at Kalami Bay House and wishing we could have at least a few more days. What a perfect corner of paradise and still relatively unspoilt. The weather has been unseasonably unpredictable but the last two days sublime. The villa is wonderful and one has little incentive to move but we have explored the north east coast and enjoyed walking to Agni and Kerasia beaches for coffee. Corfu town is very much worth a visit. Have eaten in all the Kalami Bay restaurants/tavernas and the little one at Kalami was excellent for lunch. Agios Stefanos was our favourite place in the evenings with delightful meals at Eucalyptus and Galini. Cannot really fault this villa and its magnificent view. Lovely to have the choice of swimming off the rocks or the lovely Kouloura Bay. Genuinely we hope to come back and before too long. Big thanks to Diane for all her help.

Claire & Robert, May 2019

Our villa was perfect for the relaxing holiday that we had planned. The reps were warm and welcoming. The whole experience with Simpson Travel was wonderful. Small details such as water given out at the airport on arrival, easy directions for picking up the hire car and bringing it back, and the welcome pack were much appreciated. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.

From your team in London to the lovely staff on the ground, your car hire colleagues and those who clean and maintain the villas – year on year you continue to deliver exemplary service, courtesy and support if needed. You have made choosing a holiday a simple exercise – only ever one website to look at!

Mr Denny, October 2018

We loved everything about Kalami Bay House and its situation. Fabulous views and always something to look at on the bay below. Perfect snorkelling off the rocks below the house and easy walking distance to a selection of tavernas and small supermarkets. Follow the coast path to unspoiled coves and the lovely Kerasia beach – we hardly used the car at all!

Mrs Fergusson, September 2018

What a wonderful villa and holiday. Though the weather was cooling towards the end of the week, it was perfect for walking and bathing in the sea. We walked stretches of the Corfu trail and visited more remote inland villages with amazing views to Albania. Corfu town was also a must – went with the whole family to see the Byzantine museum, the forts and to have ice cream in the sunshine. So much to do in so little time and without doubt we will be back to swim in the sea, snorkel and read books on the beach. Thank you for your hospitality – a perfect start to our autumn.

Jane, Tim, William & Ruari, October 2017

All of our visitors and friends were knocked out by the view, quite rightly, and we all spent a lot of time gazing out across the bay, reading, thinking, snoozing... Just great, we easily could have stayed six months!

Jamie, Rossella, Ivar, August 2017

We have enjoyed a very relaxing two weeks here and had a fabulous holiday. Views are exactly as described by others. We will be back!

The Harris Family, July 2017

We've had a wonderful week here. We loved the view so much that we hardly strayed off the terrace! Thank you to Jackie and thank you Simpson Travel!
