Diamantina – a little slice of local history – is conveniently situated just behind the sea front at Agios Stephanos harbour, and has the honour of being the very first house built in the village, dating back to the 1800s. The present owner inherited it from his great grandfather and then set about refurbishing the house as a characterful holiday home. During the excavation for the swimming pool, archaeologists found fragments of pottery dating back some 2,300 years, indicating continuous habitation of the area since ancient times.
The house is accessed via external stone steps in traditional Corfiot style, complete with a covered porch. It has a delightful walled courtyard, planted with roses, oleander and a mature weeping willow around the pool. The shops, harbour tavernas and beach of Agios Stephanos are literally on your doorstep, making this the perfect base if you’d rather walk than drive. Renting a small boat for your stay (highly recommended), you’ll be able to moor it just 100m from the house. So whether you’re a summertime sailor, a history scholar or just someone who appreciates a traditional and comfortable town house, Diamantina is a uniquely special place to stay.

The concierge, Jackie, was very good - we lost our keys and she brought out spares quickly. The villa was lovely with all the facilities you could want and very close to the amenities along the bay. We would definitely come again.
Delightful villa, superb location, well equipped. We had a wonderful week here in this tiny bit of paradise on earth. The villa is in the centre of the village, so close to everything you need, including lots of delightful tavernas. Jackie was so knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Would love to have stayed longer.
Had a wonderful stay in San Stephanos, Corfu. The accommodation and location was so perfect and from start to finish we simply had the best holiday. Hiccups? The water was very stop start in the house. There were a few storms so we put it down to potential electricity problems but one day it failed and there actually was an issue. It was fixed within 24 hours and didn’t spoil a thing. This is my second time with Simpson and I couldn’t be happier. Will always start and holiday search with them!

This was my first visit to Corfu – a beautiful island so I hope to come again. Agios Stephanos is a lovely village, equipped with good eating options. Diamantina is lovely too – clean, well equipped, comfortable and well positioned for quick trips to the well-stocked supermarkets. We hired a boat and tried one of the walks. We hope to be back.

Our third visit to this beautiful island and our first time travelling with Simpson Travel. The villa is charming, well equipped and although in the centre of the village, is peaceful and secluded. Agios Stephanos is perfect for a peaceful holiday, the people are friendly, the tavernas excellent (Eucalyptis and Galivi being our favourite) and the warm water, clean and good for relaxed snorkelling. Very impressed with Simpson Travel and the way the holiday was organised and the high standards in the villa. Especially Jackie, the rep, who was very helpful when I managed to lock ourselves out of the villa one evening! Surely, I am not the only one to have done this? I am? Oh!..My wife had a bad knee claiming our time here but all we want for a wonderful holiday was on our doorsteps in the village. Very much hope to return to this beautiful part of Corfu soon, with Simpson Travel of course!

So many reasons to love Diamantina – great location, lovely shaded and sheltered garden and well equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds, a restful and relaxing sitting room and several enticing outdoor areas to enjoy a drink and a meal. Many thanks to Jackie yet again for looking after us and doing her best when a problem came up to help solve it. We are sad to be leaving. We will return.

We love it here! Diamantia is beautiful everything you could want. Perfectly equipped – lovely garden and pool. Location amazing! So relaxing to just stroll out – have a drink and a meal. Jackie has been great help – booking restaurants and helping us rearrange travel plans when our children came out to join us.
We have had a great week here staying in Diamantia. The house is very nice and comfortable with great air conditioning in the bedrooms. We have enjoyed very relaxing days lounging by the pool. It has been a wonderful stay in Agios Stephanos and we would happily come again!
We have also had a really lovely week staying here! Hired a boat for three days and went up and down the coast stopping off at many different places. We were very surprised how easy it was to tie up at a jetty while being free of charge coupled with the friendliness of all the locals. We will miss the sea swimming – very beautiful. Hope to come back!
