This is our third holiday with Simpson and we have never been disappointed. This area of Corsica is wonderful and, for us, the location of the villa could not be bettered. Admittedly, there is no pool but my routine was to walk down to a deserted beach for a swim before breakfast.
Mr Currie – September 2019
Having stayed at A Casetta three years ago, it was wonderful to be back in this idyllic spot. Last time we visited the pre-historic village at Cucuruzzu, the ancient standing stones at Cauria, the mountain medieval town of Sartène, Zonza, stunning Bonifacio of course and many of the surrounding beaches, all very worthwhile. Twice we walked around the bay along the beach from Maora to Sant Amanza, had a meal at Hotel du Golf and walked back at dusk. This was a super, peaceful, fantastic holiday in this wonderful part of the world.
Nigel & Tania – September 2019
This was our second visit to Corsica, having stayed in the Valinco last year and we were equally impressed as it is hard to beat the stunning beaches, rugged landscape and the charm of the old towns. Great waking up early for a swim/kayak at Maora beach just down the road. We also liked Petit Sperone for its crystal clear waters and areas to snorkel. We visited Piscia di Gallo – fantastic, drive inland and hike to the waterfall – will not disappoint. Enjoyed lunch and dinner at Hotel du Golf Bonifacio and meals out in Bonifacio. Don't forget to sample the wide variety of ice cream flavours for dessert! A very relaxing stay at A Casarella, no doubt we will return to Corsica very soon!
Fletcher & Stacy – August 2019
A wonderful week – this villa is fantastic and we have enjoyed all the beaches and boat trips. Special thank you to Joelle for being a great rep.
Lynn & John – August 2019
Our Simpson rep was particularly attentive to our needs and got back to us immediately we contacted her. Our villa was just lovely with amazing sea views and so very relaxing. I would certainly recommend Simpson Travel and hope to book again through them.
Mrs Catherine Harvey – July 2019
It suffices to say we had a wonderful holiday and I am sure all future guests will too. Joelle the rep is absolutely fantastic.
Jon & Sarah – June 2019
What a lovely villa to spend two weeks in, with gorgeous views during breakfast, lunch and dinner. We really enjoyed the boat trip from Bonifacio, park for free all day at one of the boat trip car parks then €18 each for the 1-hour boat trip – well worth it. Bonifacio itself is also well worth a visit as is Porto Vecchio which is smaller. Good lunch at Chez Vincent in Bonifacio opposite the church. Lovely beaches at Rondinara and Sperone which became busier later in the afternoon. Very good food at the restaurant on Maora beach albeit a little pricey. Joelle was particularly attentive and eager to help. A very relaxing two weeks.
Catherine & Tony – June 2019
We had left the UK with some trepidation as the weather was forecast to be unsettled, however the warm welcome from Joelle set us up for a lovely week. We had a most relaxing week. A beautiful and lavish lunch portside in Porto Vecchio. Visit to Bonifacio with a boat trip along the coast. A visit to the Iles Lavezzi and wandered around the incredible landscape. A must do. We visited the vineyard at Lecci (Domaine de Toraccia) and lots of beaches, all are different and interesting in their own way. Plage de Rondinara (lovely gentle sloping sea) – Chez Anges restaurant, the most relaxed and great food which is reasonably priced and that view! A must is L'Escalier du Roi d’Aragon in Bonifacio – somewhere between 184-191 steps by our count! We have enjoyed the views from A Casarella and the trips to sample the different beaches to look for shells.
Peter & Anne – May 2019
We loved our stay at A Casarella. When booking something on-line, you never quite know if you’re going to get exactly what you're expecting, but this place actually exceeded our expectations. Everything was exactly as described and pictured on the website, except that the view from the villa is far, far better than we were expecting. Stunning. The place was completely private and peaceful, fully equipped and only a five-minute walk from a good beach with a nice restaurant. The welcome pack was comprehensive and a great way to start our stay at the villa.
John Aldhouse – July 2018
I feel as though I have stumbled across a gem here with Simpson Travel and I want to keep it all to myself! From the moment I started looking through the website I knew I would find a suitable holiday experience. The holiday booked was wonderful, and A Casarella was perfect. We will return. Thank you Simpson Travel!
Mrs Holloway – June 2018
We have enjoyed a wonderful week’s holiday. Warm weather, sea swimming and comfortable accommodation at A Casarella. It has been lovely to have all our meals outside with views of an azure sea. Swimming at Petit and Grand Sperone, beautiful sandy bays and well worth the half-hour walk. Also, enjoyed Rondinara with masses of sand for everyone and all day parking for €5. Of course, Maora beach is a must, just a few minutes’ walk away. We loved Bonifacio, especially the narrow streets of the old town, with historical buildings and churches. Lunch at U Castilla was memorable with attentive service. As an antidote to the beaches, we drove to, and the walk to the waterfall, with stunning views of the mountains was spectacular. Few people seem to take the walk from Santa Manza to the headland. A well-marked path and lovely views of the bay, as well as views of the mountains inland, all through sweetly-scented maquis. We feel refreshed – thank you, and hope to return one day.
Andrew & Gill – June 2018
We loved A Casarella – it has everything we needed. The view is simply spectacular at all times of day and night and even in the rain. Corsica is a wonderful island with so much to see. We loved Bonifacio and thought the short boat trip was worth every Euro. Really hope to return to A Casarella.
Cordelia & Richard – May 2018
A Casaralla is more of an upmarket Boho-style home with a great view. It’s not overly luxurious but has everything a self-catering villa should have. Head to Rondinara if you are looking for the quintessential beach with azure waters – and take walking shoes to explore the derelict 1930s Maginot bunker on the headland at the end of the beach. Lots of lovely secluded bays here too. Do try the great value prix fixe lunch in the heart of Porto Vecchio at U Borghu – great views over the port and we loved their local house wine – award winning Cazanova. Many thanks to the charming Joelle for all her help and kindness. We love Corsica!
The Woodgates – May 2018
Simpson Travel is the absolute best. From the helpful agents, to the ease of booking, and the wonderful accommodation – we will certainly come back for more.
Mr Weil – September 2017
Great service, great reception wonderful location, quite magical. We like Corsica, but this trip was the best so far.
Mrs Richards – June 2017
Holiday was excellent and the local reps were very helpful. Thank you.
Mr James – August 2016
Simpson Travel provided an excellent service from beginning to end of our holiday. We loved the proximity of our accommodation to the beautiful Maora Beach and its bar/restaurant. Furthermore we had the historic town of Bonifacio, the glorious beaches of the south-east coast and the villages and stunning views of the mountains around Ospedale all within reach. We had an outstanding holiday and definitely want to travel with Simpson again.
Mrs Moynihan – June 2015
Great little villa with a brilliant view! We were lucky with the weather – six days of sun and little wind for first few days. Willie was a great rep.
Mr & Mrs Balon – September 2013
Wonderful stay! Comfortable and relaxing and great views. Enjoyed boat trip, walking from Bonifacio to the lighthouse, drive through Col de Bavella – stopping for fabulous rock pool swims. Rondinara beach beautiful. To park easily, go into town early! Thanks to Joan for her advice when we arrived, really useful and appreciated. P.S. Porto Vecchio Geant Casino has a good fish counter – we bought amazing giant prawns/langoustines and just cooked them in garlic butter. Delicious!
Mr Travers – September 2012
Have travelled with the 'Simply' brand before and did not realise this was a reincarnation! Hope to re-book next year. Many thanks.
Ms Carter – July 2012
We had a wonderful holiday. Thank you very much. Wished Simpson Travel did Sardinia!
Mr Reynolds – June 2012
Simply brilliant! Have enjoyed this self-catering accommodation very much. In the heat it is lovely to feel as though one has a bit more space to breathe and enjoy the warm breezes. We found keeping all the shutters closed except the kitchen one, but glass doors open, the best way to stay cool, and open shutters and doors for bad nights. The boat trip to Lavezzi is a must. Suggestion – take the 9:30am boat out and if you are a ‘fair’ person, take the 12:30pm boat back. There is no shade on this fabulous little island. Bring your snorkelling gear and dry bread if you want to see cool fish. Visit the small beach beyond the cemetery – and also make time to hop from one fun waterhole to another for optimum view of the rock formations on this little island. Maora beach at low tide at sunrise is a spectacular sight to behold and swimming in the ocean at sunrise offers tremendous rewards. Trip on the D368 to the waterfall (do that hike early – ahead of 9am – saves you the parking fee and means you’re seeing the most spectacular morning sunrise over the rock formations – wear sturdy shoes!). Then drive on to Zonza/Col de Bavella. If you are here around 6:45am, above the waterfall by 8am. Hike = 2 hours. Zonza is a great little place for a second breakfast and Col de Bavella isi superb for a picnic lunch.
Mr & Mrs Sykes – June 2012
We loved the villa A Casarella. The overall atmosphere made perfect by the interior design, colours and paint finishes, furniture and lighting – congratulations! We loved the beaches at Plage de Caneti and Rondinara.
Mr & Mrs Plumpton – May 2012
Peace and tranquillity for the body and soul! What a position; what a change of pace! The colours of the bay changing before your eyes as the sun inches over or clouds and rain cover the sky. Comfortable, well equipped and easy travelling (at this time of year), mountains, beaches, history. What more can one ask?
Mr & Mrs Roberts – May 2012
Great holiday. Thank you.
Mrs Dowdell – May 2012
Peaceful, relaxing, tranquil, well-furnished property. Stylish and practical. As comfortable in torrential rain as in brilliant sunshine. Buy the bottled rosé from the cask at €2.90 from the shop on the road to Porto Vecchio. Enjoy.
Mr & Mrs Owen – September 2012
We had a wonderful stay here – loved the location as well as our morning ritual of a swim followed by a coffee and croissant on the terrace. Thanks for thinking of everything!
Mr & Mrs Williamson – August 2012
Our choice of Corsican properties is as diverse as the island itself, ranging from simple seaside charm to genuine luxury and style. Much of our portfolio is privately owned, and price alone is therefore not a universal guide. We contract all our accommodation in person, and each property has its individual appeal. To help you make the right choice based on your own priorities, we have devised a simple grading guide to be considered in conjunction with each individual property description, awarding up to a maximum of five stars for the below categories.
* For further clarification on Facilities and Amenities, please view the 'Details' tab for each property or speak to one of our experienced sales consultants.
Just across the water from Sardinia, history takes a cosmopolitan turn in the winding streets, imposing citadels and elegant marinas of Bonifacio and Porto Vecchio. A luxury holiday here comes with no shortage of style, and plenty of restaurants, cafés, boutiques and museums. Not far away, you'll also find the family-friendly beaches of Pinarello and pine-shaded Palombaggia, as well as the white sands of Santa Giulia and chic St Cyprien.
