Villa holidays are designed to be lived outside, so you’ll find a variety of shaded and sunlit spaces to enjoy the long summer days, with the endless blue of the Ionian sparkling hypnotically in the foreground. The word petalouda means butterfly, and there are masses of them to be seen in the glorious gardens here, attracted by the abundance of beautiful Mediterranean plants and flowers.
Eating in is easy, with an outdoor fridge to keep your drinks cool and a pizza oven and barbecue to encourage everyone to pitch in and help, even if that just means setting the fabulous long dining table in the shade. Alternatively, let us book you a private chef for a night or the week, because why go out for dinner when you can have this magnificent spot all to yourself.
Everyone has their own vision of a perfect day on holiday of course, but if yours involves a little active fun then this is the place for you. In addition to beautiful bedrooms and en suite bathrooms, you can enjoy not one but two private pools, the second being an impressive 25m long so serious swimmers can get a proper workout. For gentler activity, there’s also a yoga terrace, badminton court, table tennis, a basketball net and a boules alley. Too hot to play outside? Retreat to the calm of the air-conditioned TV room for a Netflix binge or a movie night for the kids.
Rounding off the list of things we love about Villa Petalouda is its proximity to some of north east Corfu’s most popular villages; Kalami, with its highly-rated restaurants and calm bay, Koloura, with its charming stone harbour and Kerasia, with one of the longest beaches on this absolutely enchanting coast. For a completely different atmosphere, take a trip to nearby Old Perithia, an ancient, partially-restored village where you can discover nature, wildlife walks, a local farm shop and more.
