We throughly enjoyed a weeks holiday with 3 generations of family in Villa Saffron. The villa was amazing with stunning views over the sea towards Lefkada and we enjoyed beautiful sunsets every evening. The pool and outdoor area worked really well even with very young children. The villa is located in a particularly peaceful part of Meganissi, we could hear the boats motoring past and the local goats bells chiming as they past by every morning and evening. Sofia the villa owner was there when we arrived and guided us through the villa features. Anna, the Simpson representative on Meganissi, was excellent.

We planned a special holiday to celebrate our Golden wedding anniversaries, and our fortnight in Villa Saffron has certainly delivered that! We have often holidayed together, but this one will stay in our memories as outstanding in every way. We have been visiting Meganissi for many years but have never found a more magical spot than the one this beautiful villa occupies. The only downside is finding a good enough reason to leave. The beach bar 400m to the left out of the gate is lovely for a drink and a snack (particularly in late afternoon when quieter). We love Tsovolas Taverna in Spartochori and Lakis on Greek night (Thursday). We have been magnificently looked after and are so sad to be leaving. Thank you.

What an amazing spot! So difficult to tear ourselves away from the villa to explore Meganissi, but we hired a RIB for a few days and enjoyed some lovely lunches and swimming in secluded bays. We finished the week with a wonderful barbecue at the villa cooked by Costas and his team from Gaia Catering, which we would definitely recommend. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Meganisi and Villa Saffron is a fantastic property. Well designed and furnished, the property is an ideal base to either see the island, or just relax in the sun (or both!). The views are incredible; one of those properties you really just want to keep as a secret. Thank you for our wonderful holiday at Saffron on Meganissi, which wasn't our intended destination but Ed, the Operations Manager, phoned me just a few days before departure to say that construction had started close to Villa Akoni - the villa we had booked and he offered us Villa Saffron as a more peaceful alternative. It couldn't have been better. Everything was fabulous - particularly the view. The villa was exceptional. The welcome we got at Preveza airport was amazing and we felt very special, the taxi driver was great and once we arrived on Meganisi Maria and Rania greeted us like old friends. Nothing was too much trouble and Maria was fabulous right up to when he hugged her goodbye as we got on the sea taxi. Everyone was so friendly and helpful including the owners Sophia, Thanassis and their daughter who made us so welcome.

I am so appreciative of the Simpson team and the experience we enjoyed on our recent family holiday. Originally booked a villa in Corsica in the summer of 2020 but the pandemic presented challenges that made travel very difficult (if not impossible). However, the team at Simpson helped us navigate the complexities seamlessly and flexibly, supporting us throughout the entire process and ultimately helping us to enjoy a wonderful family break in Meganissi. The pre-departure team helped us to navigate the various Covid restrictions which made for an easy travel experience. On arrival at the island, we were greeted by Rania (the Simpson concierge) who had arranged not only our hire car but also a taxi that we could follow to the villa. On arrival at the villa, we were met by Sofia, the owner, who explained how everything worked, provided some much-needed wine and other essentials in the fridge and gave us some great tips for restaurants, beaches, etc. and made herself available throughout our stay as required (which thankfully it wasn't as everything was exceptional) and even arranged for a mid-week refresh of wine. We had the most wonderful time and nothing was ever too much trouble for Rania, Sofia and the entire Simpson team. We are definitely huge advocates of Simpson Travel and will be using them for future travel needs across Europe. We had a wonderful holiday at Villa Saffron. Beautiful well-equipped modern villa with stunning sea views. Like another Simpson reviewer, we spent many an hour with elbows on the edge of the infinity pool watching the boats go by.... Owner, Sofia, is lovely and very helpful. We returned from Meganissi earlier this month. It was definitely the holiday we needed. We were worried but Simpson was very flexible and we didn’t pay until the week before when Greece confirmed we could go. Villa Saffron is wonderful and we loved exploring the island. Our first visit to Meganissi didn’t disappoint. Beautiful island and superb villa. Sofia and Vanna gave us a lovely warm welcome on arrival and were very helpful and accommodating We love the villa with its wonderful views and high standard. Hired e-bikes in Vathy. Stefanos is brilliant – cannot speak highly enough of him. He went the extra mile after our accident, arranging everything. Also had a boat for the day which was wonderful. We feel we have truly experienced the Meganissi hospitality and really don’t want to go home! It’s been great having the holiday so organised with travel details taken care of and Tina has been very informative throughout. Hopefully we will return.

Meganissi – what a treat! We all loved the relaxed feel of the island. The villa didn’t disappoint, even better than the website photos which could never do justice to the view which is quite stunning. We all loved watching the endless procession of boats making their way into port – and the dolphins. Sofia and Vanna were so kind to us and left us wanting for nothing. All in all a truly lovely holiday. We are all hoping to return.

We tend to hang around it most days including cooking most evenings using the delicious local produce. Vathy has enough choice to suit most tastes but a start at The Boom Boom Bar is always worthwhile. Porto Spilia has a convenient mini-market if you don’t feel like the Vathy drive and it is very pleasant for a beer on the beach.

We have loved our week here, such a beautiful place and a really relaxing and restoring holiday. We found it hard to tear ourselves away from the villa and nearby beach at the tip of the small spit 5 minutes along the track. Had a lovely walk along the coastal path between Abelakia and Atherinos bays – really stunning coves and views. We had a delicious dinner at Il Paradiso – a very informal taverna right by the beach where we had a great fish and aubergine salad. So a wonderful stay but most of all, huge thanks to Sofia and Thanassis for their fantastic hospitality and to Koola for making the villa so lovely and Rebecca for all her help.

What a brilliant villa and holiday. I’m so relaxed that time has even gone backwards! Tore ourselves away to swim at the spit and, more usually, at the bottom of the drive – perfect. Then to eat – Tilevoes, lovely and quiet, great food and service – our favourite. Rose Garden is great for comfort food and the lady in the supermarket there is so helpful. Otherwise, just staying here and enjoying all the villa has to offer...amazing views, owls, deer and great stargazing from the master bedroom balcony! Must do the day boat too. The villa looks as good from the sea s the sea does from the villa. Another brilliant destination and beautiful villa from Simpson Exclusive, with a lovely team at the villa and so helpful. A special mention in dispatches for owner Sophie, who was so thoughtful during our stay; especially when a spectacular thunderstorm knocked out the power! We ate mainly at the Spilia Bay taverna. The gold star has to go to Tilevoes in Vathy. Great Italian/Greek food. It’s worth driving round the island for some spectacular views. A lovely holiday, we are sad to leave and will be back.

We were really impressed with the whole Simpson Travel experience, from first booking, to the way things were sorted out for us before we went, such as car and boat hire, to the fantastic welcome hamper (which had everything we could have wanted), to the way we were looked after on the island and the way any problems were sorted out – we had electric problems which were quickly and efficiently dealt with. Lovely stay in Meganissi. The villa is fabulous and the owners are friendly and helpful but allow you privacy. It is still the best villa we have ever stayed in.
