Our first visit to Corsica has been wonderful, thanks in great part to the beautiful views from the balcony of Mon Cabanon. We have loved the variety that Southern Corsica has offered, from boat trips and beaches to mountain drives with breathtaking views. The best part has been coming back to lovely Mon Cabanon after our trips out for a dip in the pool and dinner on the balcony as the sun goes down. We very much hope to return to Mon Cabanon in the near future!
Rob & Alex – August 2018
We have had the most amazing time at Mon Cabanon and in beautiful Corsica! There has been so much to do and see in the southern part of this stunning island. We loved visiting beautiful Bonifacio – top tip: take the ‘petit train’ to the top and back down as the walk up to the Citadel can be tiring in the heat and make a reservation to sit on the balcony at U Castille to really appreciate the cliff drop. The beaches have all been beautiful but our favourite was to drive to Plage de Pianterella to get to Le Petit Sperone and rent kayaks from Bonifacio Kay’ak (they are great). The most relaxing part of our trip has to be coming back to Mon Cabanon and taking in the view from the balcony and enjoying the pool and driving up into the mountains. Already looking forward to our next trip to Corsica!
Laura & John – August 2018
We have had a very relaxing time here at Mon Cabanon. A lovely place to unwind for the week. We loved the pool, views and gardens. A drive up into the mountains is a great way to begin to explore this beautiful area of Corsica. Bonifacio was very busy – but we enjoyed the boat trip around the bay – seeing the fish and caves. We enjoyed snorkelling at the different beaches – our favourite was Balistra – very relaxed atmosphere, peaceful and quiet. Kimberly was very helpful, always on hand to give us advice.
Richard & Laura – July 2018
This is our second week here in Southern Corsica having spent last week with the family and two young grandchildren, so a rest is what we were looking for. This stunning Mon Cabanon certainly provided that. Such spectacular views, a wonderful pool and a ‘bijou’ room/accommodation. We have had some lovely mixed weather with some torrential monsoon-style rain along with thunder and lightning then the sun comes out and all is forgotten! We would recommend going to Bonifacio early in the morning. We parked right at the very end and there was a short walk into the citadel, just stunning. The drive over to Zonza, through the Col de Bavella and onto Solenzara is worth doing. Freddie and Florence, the owners, are absolutely delightful and I managed to recall some of my French! Kimberly was a huge help and a mine of great information and charming. Thank you.
Tony & Pam – June 2018
Our second time at Mon Cabanon and as lovely as ever. Agree with all the recommended tourist venues, but the very best place to be is on Mon Cabanon’s balcony, overlooking the lights of Porto Vecchio. We have seen several red kites – amazed to learn they have a wingspan of 1.5 metres. Love the mountain villages. Having an automatic car here this time was a huge help on these mountain roads. Some wonderful storms and beautiful rainbows. A third visit? Tempted to explore another area of Corsica, but know once here, the pull of Mon Cabanon will be there.
John & Judy – June 2018
Once again Simpson Travel has come up trumps. Thank you for two excellent weeks in Corsica, a fabulous place to visit and staying in two different villas gave us a chance to explore slightly different areas. Both villas, Niellucciu and Mon Cabanon were of a high standard, and the care and attention from the reps was excellent...we will be back.
Mrs P Garland – June 2018
Another brilliant holiday arranged by Simpson Travel. Mon Cabanon lived up to expectations. The view from the balcony was very relaxing and the perfume from the flowers was delightful. The new swimming pool was nice and warm – very inviting. We enjoyed two mountain drives, one to Zonza and over the Col de Bavella to Solenzara. Kimberly, the Simpson Travel rep, couldn’t have been more helpful and she, Freddie and Florence made us very welcome. We wish we had more time here but grandparent duties call (the dreadful school run!).
Peter & Barbara – May 2018
This is our seventh year here in Corsica and it is as lovely as ever. The weather has been great. Pinarello remains our favourite beach. Thanks to David for his local knowledge and hospitality and Freddie being so welcoming. Beautiful location, house, sun, sea, food and much more. We will be back.
Karen & Nigel – July 2017
We'd come away for some rest and relaxation and what a beautiful place to do this. We have made full use of the superb accommodation and been and around the property a good percentage of our week. We ventured up to the mountains for two walks and explored the rock pools and 'northern' beaches as recommended by David. His visit on our first afternoon was a good way to orientate ourselves quickly. Bonifacio was a good trip and a morning in Porto Vecchio old town was lovely. All this said, just spending time here, whether by the pool, on the balcony or sitting at the table looking out was great. Many thanks to Freddie and Florence for sharing their piece of Corsica.
Elizabeth & David – July 2017
We have now holidayed in Corsica seven times with Simpson Travel and each holiday has been absolutely brilliant. Mon Cabanon was definitely one of the nicest properties we have stayed in with stunning views across to Porto Vecchio. The local representative was extremely knowledgeable about the local area and gave us some helpful tips.
Mr Felstead – July 2017
We were bowled over by our experience with Simpson Travel. We were upgraded to a fabulous villa when roadworks were due to start near to our intended apartment. Their attention to detail is superb. I knew Corsica would be great but I hadn't expected Simpson Travel would make it even better. Our next European holiday will definitely be booked with them.
Mr Mills – June 2017
Superior service and attention to detail from beginning to end.
Mrs Riemer – July 2016
Lovely villa! Great holiday, David (rep) was so helpful. Pool refreshing. Bonifacio is wonderful. Will return one day.
Sally & Phil – June 2016
Mon Cabanon is a lovely place to use as a base in the south of Corsica. It is a 10-minute drive to Porto Vecchio and its lovely beaches, and it is at the base of the mountain range for wonderful walks and excellent quad biking. The accommodation is well equipped and has fantastic views to the sea. We had a great time. Thank you.
Mrs Mahony – May 2016
This was my second time at Mon Cabanon and it won’t be the last. Sitting on the balcony overlooking the mountains and Porto Vecchio – it must be one of the best places to be in Corsica. Although sitting by your own pool there with a glass of wine, comes a close second! You never want to come home! The mountains, the beaches, the wildlife are all wonderful. One of my favourites, swimming in the pool and watching red kites circle overhead. The word idyllic sums it up.
Judy Dunn – June 2018
Once again, we found the experience provided by Simpson Travel exceeded our expectations. Mon Cabanon was well equipped. There was a wonderful view from the balcony over the valley with Porto Vecchio in the distance. We had a very relaxing time there, well away from the hustle and bustle. The villa is well situated with the coast downhill, and the mountains uphill. The support from Kimberley (the Simpson Travel representative) and Freddie and Florence (the owners) was not intrusive but added to our experience.
Peter & Barbara Yardley – May 2018
Mon Cabonon was absolutely beautiful, you should be very proud to offer such a lovely venue. Everything was perfect in terms of arrival, hire car pick up and the directions were spot on (the first time I've driven abroad so was a little nervous!). David was the rep for the cabin and he was very knowledgeable, not just about the area but with specifics to do too. The delivery of some food for the first night was a very welcoming touch. All in all, Simpson Travel are first class, please keep it up...the first website we'll be checking for next year's holiday is yours. Thank you.
Mr Nicholls – August 2015
Absolutely fantastic in every way. Could not fault anything! Best tour operator I have ever used and I used to be a travel agent! Faultless, well done Simpson Travel!
Mrs Browes – July 2015
Mon Cabanon is a fantastic and very private retreat in a lovely location with amazing views. So many decorative and practical features from the owners which made this place very special. We had a wonderful relaxing week's holiday, just what we wanted.
Mr Askwith – July 2015
This has been our first visit to Corsica and this has been our best holiday to date. For us this is exactly what we were looking for, the peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Mrs Broadfield – June 2014
It was our first trip to Corsica, and booked at the very last minute, but Mon Cabanon was just perfect! A sweet little cabin a short drive up into the mountains from nearby Porto Vecchio, you get the best of both worlds. Close to the gorgeous beaches of the south east coast but also away from the hustle of the main towns and resorts. The cabin has everything you need for a getaway week and was spotless and well looked after by on-site owners, Florence and Freddy who were both lovely and ready to share their favourite places with us! Our rep was really helpful, shared with us her favourite spots and restaurant advice. Our favourite parts of the week – an amazing walk along the headland near Bonifacio to Petit and Grand Sperone beaches; dinner at Costa Marina (best pizza experienced in a long time!); a day chilling out on Palombaggia beach and a drive up to Zonza to see the beautiful interior of the island. Overall, we thought it was a beautiful unspoilt island. Simpson Travel was great and we would definitely use them again.
Mrs Robson – May 2014
Our choice of Corsican properties is as diverse as the island itself, ranging from simple seaside charm to genuine luxury and style. Much of our portfolio is privately owned, and price alone is therefore not a universal guide. We contract all our accommodation in person, and each property has its individual appeal. To help you make the right choice based on your own priorities, we have devised a simple grading guide to be considered in conjunction with each individual property description, awarding up to a maximum of five stars for the below categories.
* For further clarification on Facilities and Amenities, please view the 'Details' tab for each property or speak to one of our experienced sales consultants.
Just across the water from Sardinia, history takes a cosmopolitan turn in the winding streets, imposing citadels and elegant marinas of Bonifacio and Porto Vecchio. A luxury holiday here comes with no shortage of style, and plenty of restaurants, cafés, boutiques and museums. Not far away, you'll also find the family-friendly beaches of Pinarello and pine-shaded Palombaggia, as well as the white sands of Santa Giulia and chic St Cyprien.
