Finding accommodation for two or three isn’t easy in this much-loved Greek island – with its spacious stone terraces, Thodoris House allows plenty of room to soak up the sun or enjoy lunch al fresco in the shade of its pergola. A cooling dip is always an option when you’ve got your own pool, although the beach is less than a 10-minute drive away and tavernas just a 15-minute walk.
The beautiful natural stonework creates a welcoming, homespun feel to this accommodation that continues inside, making it ideal for couples looking for a comfortable base from which to explore Paxos – and you can start soaking in the atmosphere before you even leave your terrace with views across the island and beyond to Corfu.
Thodoris House, along with Joanna’s House and The Windmill, is one of three Simpson properties nestled on a hillside in the tiny hamlet of Arvanitakeika.

The whole experience from booking to travelling was brilliant. I was travelling with my 85 year old mother who hadn’t gone away for the last ten years as she has been looking after my dad who is unwell. She had broken her hip earlier this year so I requested special assistance when booking and this really helped our journey through the airports. It was seamless and everyone was very kind. All the Simpson staff were helpful, approachable and friendly.
We had a wonderfully relaxing holiday at Thodoris House. The setting is spectacular and we enjoyed sitting on the terraces in the evening watching the beautiful sunsets and hearing the traditional Greek music from the taverna in the village below softly drift up. The house was spotless, well equipped and very spacious. We made good use of the pool which is a really excellent size. There is a good level of privacy from the other two Simpson Villas each side of the house and overall it was very peaceful and quiet. The island itself is incredibly beautiful. We visited all three main villages and also had a trip to Antipaxos. The tavernas in nearby Magazia and Fontana are within walking distance for most. Our concierge Lilly went above and beyond in helping us to retrieve an item we accidentally left in a taxi, and all other staff we came across during our journey to and from Thodoris House were helpful, professional and friendly. Our first visit to Paxos and we left feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and sure we will return.
Our 5th Simpson holiday and it won’t be the last. They make the little things like car hire, transfers and sorting little things that go wrong seamless (although it takes a lot of work in the background to make it so!) . Villa was great for location and facilities - finally massive thanks to Lili who was fantastic concierge!
We have had a wonderful week on Paxos, managing to combine a lot of relaxing at the house with exploring the island as well. You can walk to many tavernas from here, and we have enjoyed great food. Highly recommend taking a small boat out for the day all around the island. The west side of the island is spectacular, with most of it only accessible by boat. Lily has been amazing, nothing has been too much trouble. She was incredibly helpful when Clive twisted his ankle, sorting us out at the medical centre and shipping in a medical ‘boot’ from Corfu! I’m sure we’ll be back to Paxos very soon.
What can I say apart from perfect in every way – we come to Paxos just about every year with Simpson who are the best – thank you Lili and Frances! Thodoris is a great villa with a fabulous view and just about all the beaches and tavernas are great – you can’t go wrong! As ever we are very sad to leave and are looking forward to the next visit.
Our second stay on Paxos had us immediately wondering why we had waited 9 years to return. In 2014 we stayed in Joanna's House, just above, and absolutely loved it. Ditto this place. Thank you as always to the wonderful Simpson team who never fail to live up to their promise to do all they can to provide a wonderful stay. And that is what it has been.
A beautiful villa, with stunning views across the sea. Thodoris House was a perfect location for a truly wonderful stay on the beautiful island of Paxos. Lilly, the local representative was extremely helpful and kind and was able to provide us with details of extra walks which we thoroughly recommend. The villa was maintained to a very high standard and everyone made our stay extremely comfortable. Paxos is a truly beautiful island and everything Simpson Travel have written about it is true. For a relaxing holiday you can’t beat it!
This is the first time we have used Simpson Travel and will not be the last, the knowledge when we booked the holiday was excellent as the person we spoke to hand firsthand knowledge of the villas and the hotel we booked. The information at every step of our journey and the accommodation was as described and excellent. Everyone we met who represented Simpsons were extremely polite and helpful and our concierge the hotel at left us a bottle to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary and booked a superb restaurant in a magical location which we will always remember.
What a great villa in a really central location with fantastic views. Great holiday, we'll be back next year.
Our first foreign holiday since lockdown, and what a perfect place to spend it. We have travelled widely in Greece over the years, but for a restful walking, reading and eating holiday, Paxos in May is hard to beat. You could walk to anywhere on the island from this perfectly placed villa and be charmed by the olive groves, umbrella pines and views of the sea.

We have just spent an amazing week at Thodoris House on Paxos. It was the first time we had booked with Simpson (but not our first visit to Paxos) and we were so impressed. The property was wonderful with so many different terraces and areas to sit outside and a lovely pool. It was in a peaceful elevated location in the middle of the island. We were so impressed with the company. They were thorough and supportive both in the UK before departure and when we were away. I would recommend them without hesitation.
We have just returned from a fortnight in Thodoris House on Paxos and it has been an absolute delight. My husband booked this trip in December 2020 and Simpson Travel have been so good at keeping communication going as travel restrictions have ebbed, flowed and performed the various convolutions they’ve undertaken over the past six months... Thodoris House is absolutely lovely, slap bang in the centre of the island so no distance from anywhere and so well appointed we wanted for nothing. Even the bed was really comfortable, not always a given in a rental property. Every representative we met was helpful and charming; Frances’ updates on which tavernas were open were very useful until we found our way around and the welcome pack gave us the strength to begin the search! Thank you, Simpson Travel, for setting the bar stratospherically high as far as Christmas presents go!
Our 7th visit to Paxos over 12 years and they have all been different with their various idiosyncrasies. Accommodation here is just outstanding – both inside and outside and so many different opportunities to relax and enjoy the sun and at all times of the day. The peace and tranquillity have been very special, yet we have always been within easy reach of Loggos, by far our favourite place on the island.

Thodoris House is a perfect holiday villa for a relaxing holiday – so secluded and private but a great range of tavernas within walking distance. We loved our stay and wish it was longer.
Thodoris House is a lovely villa, with loads of outdoor space for relaxing, dining, swimming and catching some sun! Lovely view out to sea and Corfu and nice to have some trees giving a little shelter by the pool during the morning and early afternoon. Would return in a heartbeat!
This was our first time to Paxos – a beautiful island, so quiet with everyone so friendly. We did some of the Simpson Travel walks – they are very good and we discovered some lovely beaches. The villa and the views are excellent.
