In a magnificent seafront setting close to the charming village of Mochlos, Kalloni and neighbouring Melitina are without question the finest villas in our Crete portfolio. Luxurious and sophisticated, they can be booked independently or alternatively they present a wonderful opportunity for two families travelling as a group when booked together.
There’s an exhilarating sense of freedom as you leave the well-trodden path behind and descend towards Mochlos. And though not widely publicised, it attracts those in the know again and again, eager to enjoy its tantalising blend of old-school charm and first-class hospitality.
Kalloni sits in immaculate landscaped gardens leading down towards the sea, with areas of lawn and several spacious terraces for stretching out and drinking in the vista. Though there’s no direct sea access, it affords all the other privileges of its waterfront position; uninterrupted views across the water and the soothing sound of the waves as they break on the rocks beneath. Offering all the space and comfort you could wish for, interiors are stylishly furnished and make use of beautiful natural materials, with modern touches reflecting the owners’ impeccable eye for detail. Three en-suite bedrooms are furnished with comfy beds and luxury linens and to further enhance relaxation, the lower ground floor comes complete with private sauna and gym.
Daily breakfast is included and served at the villa; an indulgent extra that sees every day off to a glowing start. First time we've used Simpson Travel would highly recommend. Nikos, our concierge, was outstanding. Very helpful, knowledgeable, friendly but unobtrusive. His help with our very sick baby at 10.30pm was outstanding. He arranged an emergency appointment with a wonderful paediatrician and even offered to drive to the nearest pharmacy nearly 50km away if we wanted. Brilliant local recommendations, everything he suggested was a huge success. Sofia, the maid, was also wonderful. Bringing a baby bath with lots of toys for our 14 month old was a particularly excellent touch. She provided a very pleasant start to our mornings serving a delicious breakfast. Villa is very comfortable and well equipped, baby equipment provided is a high standard. Only minor niggle was the glassware provided could have been better. There weren't enough wine glasses and tumblers of the same type we had to drink out of brandy glasses. We only found some plastic tumblers for the swimming pool area on our last day. Position of the villa is outstanding with breathtaking views. The grounds are extremely well kept. Very professional, friendly and helpful Simpson Rep for flight out of Heraklion. All in all a very positive first experience, have already recommended to friends!

We have had a wonderful week. The pool and soft loungers were superb. The location of the villa affords amazing views – such a pleasure to wake up to the sound of the sea. What makes the holiday special is the excellent customer service provided by both Nikos and Sofia. Nothing was too much trouble. Advice on restaurants, swimming, and walks was appreciated. Breakfast provided by Sofia was great and so lovely to have it served each morning. We can recommend all of the tavernas in Mochlos. They were all great with exceptionally friendly staff. The booking process was seamless and responsive and made everything easy. We will definitely be back. Very many thanks.
This is a beautiful Simpson villa. Luxurious with amazing views and a lovely pool with the best sunbeds – so comfortable. The sauna and gym were an added bonus. Nikos was extremely helpful and gave great suggestions and advice on places to visit and where to eat in Mochlos. We had three meals there, all good and reasonably priced. Sofia made breakfast each day and they were exceptional – set us up for the day with the amazing spread and different main breakfasts. She works really hard to look after the guests. The beds are comfortable and it was lovely to open the bedroom door and listen to the sea at night. Finally, the welcome pack was the best we have ever had – full of food and drink items, the perfect welcome Simpson style. We will miss Kalloni, Nikos and Sofia.

Amazing villa in a superb location with the best welcome pack we have ever received on a holiday! Breakfast was provided every day by the lovely Sofia and it was delicious. Mochlos is a 5 minute walk from the villa, with a great selection of tavernas. Nothing was too much trouble for Nikos, our Simpson representative, his local knowledge was invaluable. We would love to return.
A wonderful stay at this beautiful villa with stunning views that offered everything we could have possibly wanted. Beautifully furnished and very relaxing. Wonderful breakfast each morning by Sofia, who was lovely. Nikos was always there to give advice and was very enthusiastic about sharing things to do in and around Mochlos, which is a beautiful port. Will definitely be returning to the area and this villa. First time with Simpson Travel and definitely not our last. Very relaxing stay.
We have had a magnificent fortnight at Villa Kalloni – the highlights in no particular order: the amazing views of the sea and the mountains from wherever you are in the villa; the weather (very hot); hiking the Richtis Gorge; a boat trip with Demetrius; a wonderful private chef night with Giorgios; enjoying drinks on the terrace and watching the sunset; our wonderful hosts, Nikos and Sofia. Nikos bas been a font of knowledge, always willing to listen and help (and appreciated) and Sofia’s breakfasts and hard work have been a wonder to behold. Thank you both. All in all a very relaxing, chilled stay (other than the drive down to Richtis beach, which is not for the faint-hearted!).
What a fantastic week. The villa and the town of Mochlos are beautiful. Sophia’s breakfast every morning was a very special aspect of the holiday- lovely food and a beautiful person. Nikos was very knowledgeable about the area and very welcoming. Hopefully we will return next year.

Another fabulous trip with Simpsons, we've had a wonderful stay at Kalloni, utilising all the amazing space and facilities. The welcome pack on arrival was the best we have ever had in any Simpson villa we have stayed in. The accommodation was excellent - with a superb outdoor space with very comfortable loungers. A special mention must also go to Sofia who produced delicious breakfasts every day - with fresh local ingredients and was one of the highlights of our holiday (and we like our food!!).
Our first holiday using Simpson Travel certainly did not disappoint! The villa is incredible, with beautiful views and stunning scenery. We particularly enjoyed the pool and sunbeds. The breakfasts from Sofia were easily one of the best things about this holiday. Beautifully well prepared, yummy, and the outdoor kitchen is lovely. First Simpson visitors in this villa, although we have been to many other Simpson villas in Mallorca and Greece. We loved the villa and the very comfortable outdoor area - the best sun loungers, as voted by our teenage daughters! The views are lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed the tavernas in Mochlos. The real touch of special luxury was the amazing breakfasts prepared and served by Sofia - a real bonus. Nikos was also very attentive and helpful. He has a wealth of local info, and couldn't do enough to help give us a good stay.
