This neat little pastel-pink property sits on a headland overlooking not one, but two beautiful bays. The views are spellbinding and Avra – meaning ‘breeze’ in Greek – has been designed to take full advantage of both the outlook and the outdoor space.
From the shapely curves of the private infinity pool, which is gated for safety, to the stone gazebo, the sun terrace draws you out to enjoy the warmth, seclusion and stunning vistas at all hours of the day and evening. The gazebo is equipped with a fridge and sink, so you can stock up at the start of the week and enjoy your own private pool bar that stays open as long as you want it to!
Inside, the house is small, but comfortably furnished, with a bath or shower room for each of the three bedrooms, two of which open onto a balcony or courtyard area – and one bedroom has a separate entrance making it ideal for grandparents or older children who want their own space.
Avra, just a ten-minute walk from the shops, restaurants and Kalami’s popular Blue Flag beach, is a good choice for families of all ages.
There are also a number of tavernas to chose from, including The White House, the former home of Lawrence Durrell, the poet, dramatist and travel writer, best known for writing Prospero's Cell. His brother Gerald, author of My Family and Other Animals, also lived in the area with his family back in the 1930s.
Kalami is also the place to hire a motorboat to explore the magnificent north-eastern coastline, its secluded pebble beaches and the fashionable restaurants in Agni and Agios Stephanos. Kouloura Harbour, famous for its fish taverna, is also a must-visit – and just five-minutes' walk away.

When the view from the villa is this good, you don’t want to leave. We will definitely be returning. The weather has been perfect, which can be hit or miss this late in the year. Warm sunny days and cooler evenings – perfection – like Villa Avra!
We have enjoyed several Simpson villa holidays but Villa Avra is exceptional. Perfect location and the views are stunning. A short walk to the village which has everything you need. Local friendly shop and excellent tavernas.
We hired a villa in Kalami during the school holidays in June, as we wanted a pool for our granddaughters to enjoy. We all loved the setting, Kalami in particular. That villa was perfect for us all and really didn’t think it could be beaten until we found Villa Avra! We needed a restful holiday out of the school holidays and what an amazing place this house is. The views all around are fantastic, every terrace can be enjoyed at different times of the day. The pool is a masterpiece. We enjoyed just pottering around the extensive grounds, admiring it all. This is a special place, a hidden gem. We are already planning a return visit.
What a beautiful spot – idyllic views in every direction framed by olive trees and hazy horizons! We’ve had a wonderful week exploring the coast by boat – eating delicious food in lots of tavernas. Always lovely to come back to the tranquillity and calm of the villa with its stunning pool with shady areas. Evening drinks on the top terrace also lovely with 360-degree views. Just wanted to say I was ever so impressed by the fact Jackie looked after us on our last day with Debbie..finding us accommodation/ somewhere to hangout before our evening flight. Absolutely first class and that alone will secure our business with Simpson in the future. A brilliant surprise.
Property location and exterior areas are second to none and we had very enjoyable stay. The views are spectacular, the variety of seating locations and the pool and terrace areas are simply uplifting. We had a very relaxing time.

We love this villa, especially the extensive grounds and pool.
With such a wonderful villa it is difficult not to have a great time. Comfortable beds and splendid outside space and pool area. With constant sunshine one was oputside from pre-breakfast to just before going to bed, so the nice squashy sofas were little used. As ever, Jackie was unobtrusively efficient when needed.
Simpson Travel were brilliant throughout our holiday and we cannot recommend them more highly.
An exceptionally well located yet understated villa, high on the hill with incredible views and a cooling breeze yet a short walk to both Kalami and Kaloura. The outdoor spaces - sun, shade, and everything in between - really set Villa Avra apart.

One of the best villa locations we have been to! Enjoy the view every day and the wonderful swallows diving to drink from the pool! Close enough to the harbour to watch life unfold daily but remote enough to be far away from the hustle and bustle.
We’ve travelled many times with Simpson Travel and were not surprised that they have continued to deliver fantastic holidays despite everything that has been thrown at the tourist industry this year with Covid. The whole team were amazing. From booking to returning home from our late September holiday, all the details were taken care of to ensure that nothing could possibly go wrong. The photography on the Simpson website of Villa Avra in Corfu was superb but, in actual fact, the villa and its location were ever better than we had imagined! The views were stunning with patios overlooking two different bays, which made it uniquely positioned. The well-tended gardens around the villa were beautiful to walk in, the pool, overlooking Kalami Bay, perfect and the villa itself full of old world charm… just right for a very, very peaceful holiday.
If you’ve ever been to White Orchid – Simpson Hotel in Sivota – you will know the view is breathtaking. This has been my iPad screensaver for the last few years. However, it’s now been replaced. Villa Avra has so many beautiful and stunning views that I’ve chosen my favourite from the pool terrace to set in its place. In fact the views from this beautiful villa will stay with John and me forever. It must be one of the best villas on Corfu – oldy worldy but delightfully quirky! It’s not White Company chic but its faded look has a charm of its own! We have enjoyed meals in Kalami and Kouloura but on balance we think The White House is the best. The steep path down to the sea below the villa, though do-able is a bit hazardous and we’d recommend rock shoes for swimming. The walk past The White House and up the hill en route to Agni is fun – plenty of lovely villas to look into – but none we decided that were as well appointed as Emily’s. Simply having coffee sitting under the shade of the olive tree by the pool is a relaxing and peaceful exercise – so quiet and beautiful. Lunch on the top terrace, where the view is spectacular, or evening drinks watching the twinkling lights of Kalami are memories we’ll treasure. Jackie, the Simpson rep, was wonderful – responding very quickly to all our questions via text.
Although a little apprehensive about travel under Covid-19 we continued with our holiday booked in December 2019 to celebrate a special birthday! Simpson, as usual, did not disappoint. The travel was well organised and the villa was lovely. Loads of outdoor space and as the weather was brilliant sunshine the whole week we were rarely inside! Kalamazoo had two good restaurants and a cocktail bar. Jackie sorted us boat hire and we had an excellent day, the boys enjoying jumping into the sea from the boat when moored just off shore. Thanks again to Simpson and the local manager of the villa who was very quick to respond when a fuse blew!
Wow, what an amazing view from this villa with a simply stunning outdoor area. Kalami Bay was our very favourite place albeit we toured to other places. Tried all village eateries with Thomas's place our favourite. Jackie, our rep, was very attentive to our needs and the welcome pack was thoughtful and a great help in Covid-19 times. Our second Simpson experience and definitely not our last as their organisation and choice of property really does exceed.

We truly had the most amazing week at Villa Avra. If you are looking for breathtaking views and absolute relaxation whilst still being within easy walking distance of essential facilities and sufficient restaurants and bars then this is the place to be. Only downside - the WiFi! Be prepared to spend extra on additional data for the kids!

We’ve had the most wonderful week at Villa Avra. Views are stunning and plenty of terraces to enjoy. Lots of fun was had in the pool. As usual, a fabulous welcome from the Simpson team. Many thanks to Di for ensuring we had everything we needed – including turning up with umbrellas and games on the only rainy day. The fish restaurant at Kouloura is well worth a visit as is Vitamins in Nissaki. We enjoyed many cocktails at Sea Breeze where the staff are super friendly.
Villa Avra is set on a peninsular with genuinely spectacular views. It is peaceful and early mornings on the large terrace feed the soul.
We have loved every minute of our holiday staying at Villa Avra. Di was wonderfully warm with her welcome and helpful suggestions. The supply of essentials was very much appreciated and the children enjoyed their packets of sweets. What a stunning view from both the villa and the pool! We couldn’t have asked for more and feel spoilt. Lovely restaurants to eat in and we particularly enjoyed The White House in Kalami. We were able to rent a boat easily for the day. Pretty certain we will be back to captivating Corfu.
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday to Corfu with Simpson Travel. It was so effortless having the flights, accommodation and rental car booked in one. Collecting the rental car was straightforward too and soon we were following excellent directions to our villa. Simpson Travel go out of their way to make the experience seamless. We were thrilled to arrive at Villa Avra and be greeted by the stunning view across the infinity pool to the Mediterranean Sea with a constantly changing and interesting scene. The Welcome Pack was amazing and made the first evening much easier. The children were delighted and asked if they could come back again on the first day.
