Had a wonderful time staying at beautiful Villa Avra in Corfu. The views were spectacular & just as advertised. The rep Anna went truly above & beyond. Her recommendations of restaurants & boat trips were so helpful & she even booked everything for us. I celebrated my birthday while we were there & Anna brought a beautiful cake & sang happy birthday in Greek. This is the first time we have booked with Simpson Travel and we have been very impressed with the professionalism from start to finish. The villa is in a very pretty location with spectacular views. The pool area is where we spent many hours. Great restaurants in walking distance which Anna can book for you. We drove to Corfu town one day to explore but make sure to get there early as parking could be a problem. A great family holiday that went far too quickly. I am now searching for the next adventure!

It was lovely to arrive early in the holiday season when there are fewer tourists and the resort is gearing up for the summer. Nothing prepared us for this stunning villa and its location. We managed to leave it on a few occasions. But really, we couldn’t tear ourselves away from this beautiful place. It was great to meet Pete the gardener and hear about the design of the landscape. We really appreciate the hard work that goes into maintaining it. This place will stay with us , in our minds eye – the view from the pool across the sea is unbeatable. We felt very grateful to be here.

We had a wonderful week of warm sunshine and splashing around in the many beautiful bays, many of which we walked to. Our favourite bay was a short walk past the White House. There is nothing there apart from lots of fish, some great rocks to jump off and we even spotted a starfish. We also did a short walk in the opposite direction to Kerasia which was a lovely 15-20 minutes amble through a craggy beach/cliff path. I did it in flip flops but I wish I'd worn something a bit sturdier. We had a lovely meal at Agios Stephanos. We could highly recommend taking a boat for the day and exploring. We would also recommend paddle boarding in Kalami Bay. The afternoon sunshine warms the pool area and is a great place to relax after a boozy lunch.

Thank you Villa Avra for our second wonderful stay. Yet again we are very transfixed by the wonderful scenery and views from the different terraces. We have loved our breakfast and sundowners on the upper terrace. Lunches and dinners under the olive tree by the pool. Such a treat to have not only the gorgeous pool but to have two beaches so close by for swims. A huge thank you to Anna from Simpson Travel for all her help. We hired a villa in Kalami during the school holidays in June, as we wanted a pool for our granddaughters to enjoy. We all loved the setting, Kalami in particular. That villa was perfect for us all and really didn’t think it could be beaten until we found Villa Avra! We needed a restful holiday out of the school holidays and what an amazing place this house is. The views all around are fantastic, every terrace can be enjoyed at different times of the day. The pool is a masterpiece. We enjoyed just pottering around the extensive grounds, admiring it all. This is a special place, a hidden gem. We are already planning a return visit.

We’ve travelled many times with Simpson Travel and were not surprised that they have continued to deliver fantastic holidays despite everything that has been thrown at the tourist industry this year with Covid. The whole team were amazing. From booking to returning home from our late September holiday, all the details were taken care of to ensure that nothing could possibly go wrong. The photography on the Simpson website of Villa Avra in Corfu was superb but, in actual fact, the villa and its location were ever better than we had imagined! The views were stunning with patios overlooking two different bays, which made it uniquely positioned. The well-tended gardens around the villa were beautiful to walk in, the pool, overlooking Kalami Bay, perfect and the villa itself full of old world charm… just right for a very, very peaceful holiday.

If you’ve ever been to White Orchid – Simpson Hotel in Sivota – you will know the view is breathtaking. This has been my iPad screensaver for the last few years. However, it’s now been replaced. Villa Avra has so many beautiful and stunning views that I’ve chosen my favourite from the pool terrace to set in its place. In fact the views from this beautiful villa will stay with John and me forever. It must be one of the best villas on Corfu – oldy worldy but delightfully quirky! It’s not White Company chic but its faded look has a charm of its own! We have enjoyed meals in Kalami and Kouloura but on balance we think The White House is the best. The steep path down to the sea below the villa, though do-able is a bit hazardous and we’d recommend rock shoes for swimming. The walk past The White House and up the hill en route to Agni is fun – plenty of lovely villas to look into – but none we decided that were as well appointed as Emily’s. Simply having coffee sitting under the shade of the olive tree by the pool is a relaxing and peaceful exercise – so quiet and beautiful. Lunch on the top terrace, where the view is spectacular, or evening drinks watching the twinkling lights of Kalami are memories we’ll treasure. Jackie, the Simpson rep, was wonderful – responding very quickly to all our questions via text.

Although a little apprehensive about travel under Covid-19 we continued with our holiday booked in December 2019 to celebrate a special birthday! Simpson, as usual, did not disappoint. The travel was well organised and the villa was lovely. Loads of outdoor space and as the weather was brilliant sunshine the whole week we were rarely inside! Kalamazoo had two good restaurants and a cocktail bar. Jackie sorted us boat hire and we had an excellent day, the boys enjoying jumping into the sea from the boat when moored just off shore. Thanks again to Simpson and the local manager of the villa who was very quick to respond when a fuse blew!

We’ve had the most wonderful week at Villa Avra. Views are stunning and plenty of terraces to enjoy. Lots of fun was had in the pool. As usual, a fabulous welcome from the Simpson team.
