Holidays will be different this summer. Find out how travel is changing and what we are doing to keep you safe here.
This neat little pastel-pink property sits on a headland overlooking not one, but two beautiful bays. The views are spellbinding and Avra – meaning ‘breeze’ in Greek – has been designed to take full advantage of both the outlook and the outdoor space.
From the shapely curves of the private infinity pool, which is gated for safety, to the stone gazebo, the sun terrace draws you out to enjoy the warmth, seclusion and stunning vistas at all hours of the day and evening. The gazebo is equipped with a fridge and sink, so you can stock up at the start of the week and enjoy your own private pool bar that stays open as long as you want it to!
Inside, the house is small, but comfortably furnished, with a bath or shower room for each of the three bedrooms, two of which open onto a balcony or courtyard area – and one bedroom has a separate entrance making it ideal for grandparents or older children who want their own space.
Avra, just a ten-minute walk from the shops, restaurants and Kalami’s popular Blue Flag beach, is a good choice for families of all ages.
There are also a number of tavernas to chose from, including The White House, the former home of Lawrence Durrell, the poet, dramatist and travel writer, best known for writing Prospero's Cell. His brother Gerald, author of My Family and Other Animals, also lived in the area with his family back in the 1930s.
Kalami is also the place to hire a motorboat to explore the magnificent north-eastern coastline, its secluded pebble beaches and the fashionable restaurants in Agni and Agios Stephanos. Kouloura Harbour, famous for its fish taverna, is also a must-visit – and just five-minutes' walk away.

Superb pool area with outstanding view. The villa was very clean. Excellent location. Our rep, Jackie, was really helpful. She sent us lots of useful information and booked us a motor boat and restaurant.
Simpson Traveller – August 2020
The most stunning location we have ever stayed in on any Mediterranean island. The views are simply breathtaking and we all enjoyed a week of complete relaxation and luxury!
Mrs Read – October 2019
We truly had the most amazing week at Villa Avra. If you are looking for breathtaking views and absolute relaxation whilst still being within easy walking distance of essential facilities and sufficient restaurants and bars then this is the place to be. Only downside - the WiFi! Be prepared to spend extra on additional data for the kids!
Mr C Travis – August 2019
This is our third Simpson holiday and maybe the best of all. Villa Avra must have the best views on Corfu. We loved it so much, planning to come back next year. Thank you Di.
Claire, Marina, Kieran, Cosmo, Otto & Violet – August 2019
We’ve had the most wonderful week at Villa Avra. Views are stunning and plenty of terraces to enjoy. Lots of fun was had in the pool. As usual, a fabulous welcome from the Simpson team. Many thanks to Di for ensuring we had everything we needed – including turning up with umbrellas and games on the only rainy day. The fish restaurant at Kouloura is well worth a visit as is Vitamins in Nissaki. We enjoyed many cocktails at Sea Breeze where the staff are super friendly.
Rhydia, Janis, Gwiz, Isabel, Lucy & Josie – July 2019
Villa Avra is set on a peninsular with genuinely spectacular views. It is peaceful and early mornings on the large terrace feed the soul.
Jane Cunningham – June 2019
We have loved every minute of our holiday staying at Villa Avra. Di was wonderfully warm with her welcome and helpful suggestions. The supply of essentials was very much appreciated and the children enjoyed their packets of sweets. What a stunning view from both the villa and the pool! We couldn’t have asked for more and feel spoilt. Lovely restaurants to eat in and we particularly enjoyed The White House in Kalami. We were able to rent a boat easily for the day. Pretty certain we will be back to captivating Corfu.
The Richardson family – May 2019
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday to Corfu with Simpson Travel. It was so effortless having the flights, accommodation and rental car booked in one. Collecting the rental car was straightforward too and soon we were following excellent directions to our villa. Simpson Travel go out of their way to make the experience seamless. We were thrilled to arrive at Villa Avra and be greeted by the stunning view across the infinity pool to the Mediterranean Sea with a constantly changing and interesting scene. Our representative Diane Walton popped in to say hello, give us recommendations and helpful hints and tips to make the most of our holiday. The Welcome Pack was amazing and made the first evening much easier. The children were delighted and asked if they could come back again on the first day. We will treasure the memories of our first visit to Corfu and are grateful to Simpson Travel for making it a holiday to remember.
Angela Richardson – May 2019
We have thoroughly enjoyed our week in this well-appointed villa with exceptionally good outdoor facilities. Jackie has been a wonderful rep, a great giver of advice and for whom no request has been too much trouble.
The Walker Family – September 2017
This is a special place, beautifully peaceful and full of rest. Make sure you have breakfast up on the terrace and soak up the view. Breathe it all in and stop for a moment to enjoy it all.
Mrs Simpson – August 2017
Our choice of Greek properties is as diverse as the islands themselves, ranging from simple seaside charm to genuine luxury and style. Much of our portfolio is privately owned, and price alone is therefore not a universal guide. We contract all our accommodation in person, and each property has its individual appeal. To help you make the right choice based on your own priorities, we have devised a simple grading guide to be considered in conjunction with each individual property description, awarding up to a maximum of five stars for the below categories.

A hundred stories unfold on lovely Corfu… Tales of gods and goddesses, Phoenicians and Venetians, vibrant towns and sleepy villages. There’s also a rich natural history of mountains, olive groves, fertile valleys and a coastline dotted with picturesque coves, sandy beaches and rocky inlets. Follow in the footsteps of Lawrence and Gerald Durrell with a luxurious retreat to Corfu’s North East, near Agios Stephanos, or venture North West, to enjoy more sandy beaches and scenic coastal drives.
