Simpson Safe

Holidays will be different this summer. Find out how travel is changing and what we are doing to keep you safe here

Just outside popular Moliets, on the outskirts of pretty Léon village, stylish Villa de la Nasse puts you within reach of endless beaches, pine forests and the outdoor adventures that make the Aquitaine Coast such an unforgettable place to find the sun.

Tucked into a quiet residential area, within lovingly tended gardens that are perfect for little ones to play, this striking villa comes with a good-sized pool and shaded outdoor dining area. The well-designed rooms are all on one level, at the heart of which is the light-filled living area, a sleekly designed space with French doors, pale wood and beautiful high ceilings. For families and couples seeking flexible, well-equipped accommodation in an excellent location, it’s an easy choice.

The local area

Moliets and Léon have two very different personalities. Although there are wild beaches too, the former is all about the impressive and highly organised main beach. Hire bikes and you can cycle there along one of the many beautiful pine forest trails that run close to the villa. The promenade leading down to the sand, lined with restaurants, boutiques and surf shops, is relatively touristy, but extremely family friendly. You could let older children flex their independence here for a few hours: there’s plenty to keep them occupied, in addition to the golf course and tennis courts nearby. Like everywhere in this region, there’s a constant invitation to enjoy the golden sands of the coast, but after the fun of the Atlantic Ocean’s tumbling surf, having the charming Lac de Léon nearby means you can enjoy a gentler side of beach life, along with paddle boarding, pedalos and the tree-top adventures of Là-Haut Aventure Park.

Pretty Léon village, a 20-minute walk from the villa, is Moliets’ quieter, more traditional cousin with morning markets and at least three good local restaurants. It’s also a five-minute drive from the tranquil Courant d’Huchet nature reserve, where the main attraction is a guided gondola trip down to the coast through lush scenery described as the Amazon of Les Landes.

Days out

Hossegor is where the laid-back surfer vibe of California meets the sophistication of France and this vibrant town is just 30 minutes' drive away. Its excellent food hall, designer surf wear and chic markets and boutiques make it a destination for shopping as well as soaking up beach life at its best. Nearby Capbreton offers a more authentic taste of coastal life and its renowned marina restaurants are where the locals go to sample the catch of the day from the local fish market.

The Pays Basque offers a different side of Aquitaine, with historic villages and rolling hills. The capital, Bayonne, is rarely on the tourist radar, but it’s a historic gem with a stunning cathedral as well as being the chocolate capital of France! A little further along the coast, you’ll find Biarritz, where Belle Époque glamour sits alongside a vibrant shopping, eating and cultural scene – all set around a dramatic coastal location with countless photo opportunities.

Customer feedback

Jonathan went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable stay, from the beginning when he provided us with a lovely welcome pack when he knew we were going to arrive late, even sourcing mini-golf courses for us! All very much appreciated.
Mr Denham – September 2019

Jonathan, the area manager, was so incredibly helpful – we didn’t have a car, so he met us at the train station which was far beyond our expectations. The villa was beautiful and in a great location.
Mr Lewis – September 2019

Our choice of French properties is diverse, ranging from simple charm to genuine luxury and style. Much of our portfolio is privately owned, and price alone is therefore not a universal guide. We contract all our accommodation in person, and each property has its individual appeal.

To help you make the right choice based on your own priorities, we have devised a simple grading guide to be considered in conjunction with each individual property description, awarding up to a maximum of five stars for the below categories.
