A perfect day in Kalkan starts slowly. Sunrise yoga, your favourite coffee on the terrace or a few laps of the pool. Nourish body and soul with a traditional Turkish breakfast up in the hills at the Şahika Bahçe garden restaurant, or waterside at the Indigo Beach Club. Keep it local and authentic with fresh bread, olives, local honey, eggs cooked to order, tomatoes that taste of sunshine and endless tea in small glass cups. It’s relaxed, generous and sets the tone for the day.

After breakfast, get your steps in watching the boats and gülets head out of the harbour into the tranquil, turquoise bay. A window of calm, unfiltered and classically Kalkan. No agenda, just sunshine and the cheerful buzz of a town getting ready to indulge its guests with heart-felt hospitality.

By midday, the heat settles in, and there’s only one place you want to be: back at your private villa or hotel. This is the sweet spot of a Kalkan day. Pool time, cold drinks, lost in music or catching up with the chat, with views you won’t be able to stop snapping and absolutely nowhere to be. Swim, sunbathe, snooze, repeat: quiet luxury you didn’t know you needed till now.

Later, if you’re ready to venture out, head to a beach club for a proper swim. Think ladders directly into peacock-blue sea, comfy loungers, watersports if you feel like it and the chink of ice in your glass. Curious about what lies around that beautiful headland? Take a short trip to Kaş for a change of scene. It’s laid-back, a little bohemian, great for wandering, shopping or an iced coffee by the water.

As the day cools, you’ve got choices. Romantics and nature-lovers should grab a taxi, pack a cool bag, and head to Patara Beach for sunset. The reward: miles of sand, soft light and a display that outshines even the most glamorous Kalkan villa.

Back in Kalkan the vibe is cocktails, handbag shopping and dinner… the order you do it in is up to you. Feeling sociable? Barbecue night at the Kalkan Regency is the hottest ticket in town, with music, dancing, big sky views and an incredible spread of dishes that redefines generous. And the best bit?
