This handsome finca has been restored with great taste and flair to create a very spacious family home for all seasons, complete with an enclosed heated pool that makes swimming a pleasure even in the cooler spring and autumn months.

The pool house is a clever recent addition, but the rest of the villa is very much in keeping with the historic character of this area, with exposed stone walls, mellow wooden ceilings, an ancient millstone and even an original working windmill in the grounds. The whole contemporary farmhouse look has been put together by Son Aloy’s interior designer owner, who uses the house with her family during the winter, making this one of our most comfortable and welcoming places to stay.

With four rather romantically styled bedrooms and bathrooms, this house works well for a family with older children or several couples, and it’s a great pleasure to be able to wander into nearby Búger for dinner without having to designate a driver. Búger is small, unspoilt and full of charm, but if you prefer to stay home for the evening, there’s a wonderful outdoor kitchen and dining area which can be covered during the day or opened to the stars on warm summer nights. When the daytime temperatures rise, the poolhouse opens fully on one side to let sunshine flood in, with ample space for you to sunbathe on the wooden deck in front. For beach lovers, the soft sand and aquamarine water of the 6km-long Playa de Muro is around 20 minutes away by car.

Son Aloy offers a very relaxing environment where families, or friends, can come together to reinvigorate their relationships. It is self-contained. It nevertheless offers excellent facilities for in-house entertainment and relaxation. It is central for travel to anywhere on the island, particularly as the new motorway is only a mile away. A great place and we should have booked two weeks!

Son Aloy is a beautifully appointed villa with everything you could wish for. Idyllic grounds with fruit trees including lemons and figs and lots of shaded areas around the house to relax in and escape the midday heat. The pool was a real hit with our teenage children and we enjoyed evenings on the terrace with use of the outside kitchen facilities. Son Aloy is well located and within easy reach of wonderful Pollença and nearby mountains.

This was our third Simpson Travel holiday (second in Mallorca) and Villa Son Aloy and Búger certainly didn’t disappoint. The weather was mixed, but we enjoyed some beautiful sunshine days on the terrace and the covered dining area ensured daily al fresco eating! We made good use of the abundant citrus trees and made freshly squeezed orange juice, homemade lemonade and grapefruits for breakfast. We are a family of foodies and as a special treat we did hire a local chef to cook a beautiful meal at the villa. This was really a memorable evening and we couldn’t recommend her enough. We visited a lovely small beach at Cala San Vicente (Cala Mollins) and spent a day in Puerto Pollença, enjoying the beach with the children. We went on a fantastic boat trip out to Formentor with a stop for swimming off the back of the boat in the crystal clear water before finishing the trip visiting a cave – it was a great trip for the children (aged 4-6) and just long enough. A really lovely holiday in fabulous surroundings.

Son Aloy is a truly beautiful villa set within wonderful grounds and in a fabulous location. The citrus fruit trees and a wonderful local bakery provided our breakfast most days – and the terrace made for plenty of al fresco evening barbecues! The local village square is a short 5-minute stroll away and has everything you need for daily life with beaches and Puerto Pollença just a 20-minute drive away. We stayed as family of 8 ranging from 4 to 74 and this villa and location had something for all ages.

Son Aloy is an excellent villa and Búger is a lovely traditional village. Having previously stayed in Pollença a number of times, we were hesitant about being away from the main facilities. We need not have worried – the location is not just quiet and peaceful, it is perfectly placed for quick and easy travel to supermarkets and to Pollença (15mins) and Alcúdia (20mins). Walking around the quiet lanes from the villa was perfect exercise. The villa’s facilities are excellent and the heated pool is a joy, especially in April.
