We had a fabulous family holiday (6 adults) at Villa Mille Desideri. The villa is very spacious and the setting is amazing - 360 degree views - and a paradise for nature lovers. Even in thunderstorms it was enjoyable! The road up to the villa takes a bit of getting used to but it is a small price to pay for the beauty of the setting. We enjoyed the area - Monterchi, Anghiari, Arezzo, Cortona and a train trip to Florence - but most of all we enjoyed just being at base as it was so relaxing. We made good use of the large professional kitchen but would also recommend having the hosts cook - the dinner evening and the pizza night were both excellent. The hosts got their level of contact just right - affording us complete privacy but being helpful and easily contactable if need be. The whole week was a treat! It was our first holiday with Simpson Travel and we were very impressed with the pre-departure information/help and the level of service during our holiday. Amanda was our local concierge and she was attentive and helpful. All in all an excellent experience!

Having driven for over two hours from Pisa airport in unbelievable rainstorms involving half our family being marooned in a flash flood with water coming up through their car floor we eventually arrived at Villa Mille Desideri with thunder, lightning and a power cut. Sara and Nicola met us with umbrellas and the warmest of welcomes. They were so worried about us spending the night in darkness they even offered to book us into a hotel at their expense! That was hospitality above and beyond expected! We declined their kind offer and said if they could provide candles we would be fine. Then mercifully after a few false starts power was resumed. Sara then insisted they would cook dinner for us (8 people) – the yummiest meal was magically produced and a birthday cake for one of our family. What AMAZING hosts. The rest of our holiday was spent in glorious sunshine with many hours spent around the pool. The fantastic villa the spectacular views – another wonderful dinner cooked by Rosa have made this an unforgettable holiday for all the family. Thank you so much!

We could so easily spend a month here. Thank you Sara and Nicola for making us so very welcome – thank you so much for the delicious cake, eggs from your chickens and home produced olive oil. We haven’t needed to travel far as there is all you need here at the villa but we have had a wonderful meal at La Pieve Vecchia , an interesting visit to Angihari and a wonderful trip to the ancient part of Arezzo. We had a lovely fortnight’s holiday. Very relaxing and enjoyable. The whole family loved the villa, the boules, the swirling pool, the table football and the bedrooms. Best of all has been the cooking! The pizza nights and the 4-course meals were fantastic. The risotto and the roast pork was absolutely fantastic and a perfect way to celebrate three birthdays – a 21st, 45th and a 70th. We loved exploring the surrounding area – the drive to Cortona via Castiglion Fiorentino is breathtaking. We found our favourite coffee shop at the square right at the top. All the other haunts were beautiful as well – Siena, Arezzo, Florence and Anghiari. Senza Tempo in Monteria is a must as well – we had a lovely, long and relaxing lunch there on our last day. All in all, a fabulous family holiday and definitely one to remember! Thank you.

We have had a wonderful 10 days in Villa Mille Desideri. Spectacular house and views, the children loved the pool and football and had a great game of boules. Everyone enjoyed the pizza evening and the wonderful Italian meal and we appreciated all the deliveries of fresh tomatoes, eggs, plums, lettuce and cucumbers. We saw buzzards, swallows, cicadas, deer and wild boar around the villa and had beautiful scenic drives to Castiglion Fiorentino. We enjoyed the hilltop town of Anghiari particularly. Villa Mille Desideri is a perfect example of a property that meets ‘the road less travelled’ expectation set by Simpson Travel. Every bump on the way is worth it, absolutely stunning, breathtaking views and a beautiful villa to enjoy it from. It really has been a wonderful holiday and we will take home many happy memories. We loved the opportunity to cook with such fresh ingredients, kindly donated by Nicola, and to pretend we were real chefs in the super duper kitchen! Our son now wants a vegetable patch at home like Nicola’s, the bar has been set high! Our favourite local place by far has been Anghiari and we returned there 5 or 6 times during our 10-day stay. Such an interesting, buzzing place. Our 3 and 6-year-old also liked the playground there which boasted spectacular views over the town. We honestly loved that town, an absolute winner.
