One of the greatest pleasures of this Fiskardo waterfront house is relaxing on the roof terrace watching boats sail by and absorbing the changing light of the island of Ithaca. Another pleasure is the small beach opposite, partly shaded by olive trees.
Villa Ireni retains its traditional character and interior, and has considerable charm with a delightful balcony overlooking the beach and a shady vine-covered terrace to the rear.
The attractive village of Fiskardo, with its first-class restaurants and shops, and pastel-coloured old houses by day and sparkling lights by night, is just a five minute stroll away along the coastal lane.
To make the most of a very beautiful stretch of coast, small motor boats can be hired in Fiskardo to explore nearby coves and beaches.

We have just returned from our 4th Simpsons holiday, in as many countries. As usual our villa was just what we wanted. Great location, spotlessly clean and well appointed. Having a local rep is reassuring. Where to next year? I am already browsing the Simpsons website for another wonderful holiday experience in 2018. Many thanks to the helpful staff on the end of the phone. A great help with any extra details you want to know about your destination.
Mrs Lyons – July 2017
Villa Ireni was situated in a suburb position with stunning views over the bay. As we travelled with my 81year old mother in law, the close proximity to the restaurants beside the harbour was ideal. It was a perfect choice for us and we will certainly use Simpson Travel again.
Mrs McKim – June 2016
We had a wonderful time in Fiskardo. Lots to see and do. The restaurants in the village are very good and the traditional bakery has lots of marvellous cakes, bread and free range eggs. Wendy the Simpson Travel representative was extremely helpful and informative.
Ms Argles – May 2016
Our holiday in Kefalonia at the Villa Ireni was absolutely delightful. The location, villa and support from Simpson Travel were exactly right - helpful when we needed, but in no way obtrusive. We certainly felt that our experience mattered to the lovely rep Wendy; we were never just another family on the site. It has given us such a taste for Greece and beach holidays that I am already looking to see what we can book next.
Mrs Lynch-Howard – August 2015
The whole Simpson Travel holiday experience from website to returning home was first class.
Mr Jones – July 2015
We all agree that this has been one of the most perfect holidays EVER. The villa is in the best location imaginable; only seconds away from the lovely Zavalata beach, and only a few minutes walk from the tavernas and shops at Fiscardo harbour. Our outward flight from the UK had been delayed by several hours, so we were delighted to see our Simpson Travel driver waiting right in front of the arrivals door in Kefalonia. From then onwards, everything went like clockwork. The villa is really well equipped, and the beds were so comfortable. There is plenty of outdoor space for relaxing, and the view is fabulous. The little road in front of the villa has only a tiny amount of traffic, so there was no problem with noise or any other disruption. We were particularly pleased to find that all the living accommodation was on one level. Being a party that included an 87 year old, and one member of the family recovering from a double knee replacement, we were happy to find that everything was so accessible. Wendy our Simpson Travel representative was so very friendly, and really helpful when it came to planning trips and excursions. She was thoughtful enough to realise that we were quite tired when we arrived, and she arranged a convenient time to return and tell us about the area. When we weren't people-watching down at the harbour, enjoying a lovely meal at one of the many excellent tavernas, or swimming down at the beach, the villa was a lovely place to return to and unwind. A real home from home. We'll be back! Thank you Simpson Travel!
Miss Wray – August 2014
We spent a perfect week at the Villa Ireni in Fiskardo. The villa was beautiful and the location couldn't have been better - right next to the beach and only a couple of minutes walk from the harbour and tavernas. Wendy the rep was very helpful in giving us information about boat trips, beaches, walks and excursions.
Miss Ougham – August 2014
Our holiday with Simpson Travel more than met our expectations. Their staff could not have been more helpful, from the moment when we first made contact to find out more about the villa which we had shortlisted, right through to the time we reluctantly returned home after a very special holiday. Well done, Simpson Travel - we really couldn't have asked for more!
Mrs Oldman – May 2013
Our choice of Greek properties is as diverse as the islands themselves, ranging from simple seaside charm to genuine luxury and style. Much of our portfolio is privately owned, and price alone is therefore not a universal guide. We contract all our accommodation in person, and each property has its individual appeal. To help you make the right choice based on your own priorities, we have devised a simple grading guide to be considered in conjunction with each individual property description, awarding up to a maximum of five stars for the below categories.

Densely forested hills dotted with traditional hamlets and a coastline of small, quiet coves combine to make Kefalonia an unspoilt Greek holiday delight. Its northeastern tip shelters an easily overlooked gem in Fiskardo, whose 18th-century houses stand proud with their flower-festooned balconies and carved doors. South Kefalonia tells a different story, quieter and more traditional, with tranquil villages and beautiful beaches, as well as Skala and Argostoli with its harbour bars and restaurants.
