NEW FOR 2026
Character, comfort and a cracking location make this tastefully restored Kefalonian farmhouse a very attractive proposition, nestled into its own charming walled garden near Fiskardo. The house is brimming with original features, giving a fascinating glimpse of local life in times gone by yet still enviably close to one of the most-sought-after holiday spots on the island.
One of the bedrooms was once the farmhouse kitchen, complete with an old stone sink and a bread oven, whilst outside the former wine press has been repurposed as huge daybed, where you can read or snooze through a hot Ionian afternoon. The pool is a very welcome 21st C addition, set on a raised terrace to the rear of the house, and there are several other seating areas where you can all dine together or just relax over a glass of wine as dusk falls and the stars start to shine above.
You enter the house on an upper level, where you’ll find a cosy yet bright living room, and the three bedrooms. One has an en suite, one has a cute Juliet balcony and the third has doors to the garden, and there’s a spacious family bathroom on this level too. It all feels delightfully tucked away in a lovely rural setting, surrounded by trees, wildflowers and aromatic herbs. A network of ancient mule tracks invites you to explore the valley on foot, including a beautiful path which will take you to Kimilia beach in about 35 minutes.
Civilization is reassuringly close at hand however; a forest path winds through the valley to Fiskardo in about 30 minutes (or you can drive in 10 minutes); the owners tell us they walk down and taxi back, while their teenagers enjoy the freedom to hang out in Fiskardo a little longer and then walk back by themselves. Alternatively it’s 15 minutes on foot to Antipata, where there’s a popular taverna and handy village shop for daily supplies. A meal or two out in picturesque Fiskardo is a must, and your concierge is on hand to recommend restaurants and make bookings on your behalf, giving you the very best of Kefalonia both old and new.
Please note: Open-sided steps leading to the front door and uneven surfaces around the gardens make this property unsuitable for children under 5 and anyone with restricted mobility.

Densely forested hills dotted with traditional hamlets and a coastline of small, quiet coves make Kefalonia an unspoilt Greek holiday delight. Its northeastern tip shelters picture-perfect Fiskardo, whose 18th-century houses stand proud with their flower-festooned balconies and carved doors. South Kefalonia hosts Argostoli, the vibrant island capital that still has an active fishing fleet alongside its buzzing cafes and restaurants. Come early and you’ll probably spot a loggerhead turtle in the harbour, or stay late and take a stroll down the waterfront promenade. Trapezaki is a little southern secret, with beautiful views over the sea to Zakynthos and up to Mount Ainos, the highest peak on the island. There’s an unspoilt sandy beach here with a single taverna, and if you’re looking for more choice, try Lourdas, a lovely long sandy/shingle beach lined with waterfront cafes and restaurants.
