The charming countryside
After scouring the countryside of Umbria, we’re delighted to introduce Villa Lidia and Villa Donatella to our Italy collection – a chance to swap the landscape of your day-to-day life for the sweeping views of the Umbrian hills and two charming country retreats. Peaceful places to spend lazy afternoons spent by your private pool, a good holiday read in hand beneath the Umbrian sun.
The many pleasures of Umbria
Synonymous with good food, Umbria is a place to tantalise the tastebuds – and pick up some local produce for a lavish meal back at your luxury villa. Journey through the regional flavours of olives, pulses, cheese and charcuterie, but, the regional speciality is truffles – certainly not to be missed.
Food and wine aside, Umbria also has some spectacular architecture, including the cathedral and Ducal Palace of Gubbio, the region’s oldest village. But, the medieval town of Assisi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a great way to spend an afternoon discovering the castles, amphitheatre and the abbey.
