For several years now the charming village of Selimiye has been on our radar. Often heralded as the new Kalkan, though considerably smaller and quieter, Selimiye’s sea front is lined with smart restaurants, waterside cafés, boutique shops and jazz bars. During the summer months the Istanbul elite moor their boats and gulets and turn Selimiye into a fashionable and bustling little resort. Yet step away from the main thoroughfare (or visit out of season) and you’ll discover a more traditional lifestyle and gentle pace, for Selimiye is still just a sleepy fishing village at heart.
This tiny six room hotel is located right on the waterfront, complete with a sunbathing and swimming platform. Each room has a small terrace or patio facing out towards the exceptionally clear sea and the magnificent panoramas of the peninsula beyond. The hotel has the feel of a boutique B&B: fresh, bright and stylish, with the added benefit of a restaurant and bar.
Blending contemporary style with traditional hospitality, Losta Sahil Evi is the ideal spot to enjoy all the contrasting charms of Selimiye; go now, before everyone else does!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Losta Sahil Hotel. The hotel was small and friendly and was in the most beautiful setting. There was a small restaurant onsite where the breakfast was served. The breakfasts were incredible. We also ate lunch there most days and the food was lovely. The hotel also owned another restaurant in the same resort we ate there a few times and it was one of the best we went to. Selimiye is a fabulous resort. For those seeking peace and quiet during their holiday it is perfect and I would highly recommend it.
We have had several holidays with Simpson and our criteria is to look for hotels and villas within walking distance of a town or village to explore. Selimiye ticked all the boxes. It is a pretty little village with plenty of restaurants, an amazing vista and beautiful sea. Booking, travel arrangements and transfers were all up to the usual Simpson impeccable standard and we had a wonderful week.
The perfect place to relax amidst beautiful scenery, good swimming, and delicious food. One of the joys was the almost entirely Turkish clientele in the town and the lack of English spoken in restaurants, shops and hotel matched our lack of Turkish and mattered not at all! We will return.
We enjoyed a fantastic two centre holiday at the Losta Sahil Evi in Selimiye and the villa Sultan in Kalkan. The reps in both centres were excellent and we will definitely use Simpson Travel again.
The service in the hotel was understated but outstanding…as good, if not better than many a 5 star hotel I have stayed in. The setting was beautiful but was enhanced by the staff. Special experience….we are quite well travelled…and a special place.
Losta Sahil Evi is beautiful - it’s a very quiet resort. The staff are amazing nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast incredible. It was very quiet when we visited as it was the start of the season and some restaurants didn’t open but we still found plenty of places to eat & drink.
A great holiday at the Losta Sahil Evi in Selimiye. Fabulous breakfasts & friendly staff - just the relaxing break we needed. Hope to return in the future.
We enjoyed our week in Selimiye very much. It is a beautiful location with a vibrant little town with many good restaurants. Although primarily a Turkish resort, Losta Sahil Evi staff are friendly, exceptionally helpful and happy to speak English. They also work very hard. Tea and cake in the afternoon was a lovely surprise!
We stayed at Losta Sahil Evi in Selimiye for the first week. Both accommodation and resort were very pleasant. The staff were attentive and polite. The selection of restaurants offered something for all tastes ranging from good quality local fayre to more sophisticated dining by the waterside. All in all a lovely experience.
This was our 2019 holiday finally taken in 2022 and did not disappoint. Very relaxing holiday it was nice to have English as a 2nd language and experience where the Turkish take their own holidays we will be returning.
We visited Losta Sahil Eva for a week in June 2022. We absolutely loved it. Fantastic quiet location. Spotless rooms the cleaner was amazing. Amazing staff who were available morning through to night. Fantastic other guests. Breakfast was amazing - fresh fruit & local pastries every day, eggs cooked however you liked them - just beautiful. The jetty to the sea amazing we saw turtles every day! The guests were fantastic enjoyed some pre dinner and post dinner drinks - we were only sad we only had one week. Thank you to Susan and Lance for sharing your boat trip with us and to Lindsay & David for your company. Already planning our return trip.
We had a very relaxed holiday at Losta Sahil Evi. The superb waterfront location is ideal for swimming and the view from our room Aura was stunning. Turkish breakfast is appetisingly served with choice of omelette, fried or boiled egg, Turkish cheeses, salad, fruit, olives and various jams & honey. The hotel has its own restaurant where we enjoyed a few evening meals as well as eating at a number of the excellent range of seafront restaurants which tempt on the way into Selimiye. Selimiye is sleepy in May with a few shops selling good quality Turkish goods. We loved the hotel and Selimiye and didn’t venture further afield!
My husband and I spent a very relaxing week at Losta Sahil Evi staying in Aura with a veranda with stunning views of the bay. The Turkish breakfast was enough to take you through to the 4pm tea and cake delivered by staff to your sunbed on the lovely pontoon in front of the hotel. The hotel staff were lovely and Nihat, the rep, so helpful organising a boat trip and a tour to other villages. Selimiye was winding down as it was the first week in October but plenty of lovely fish restaurants still open. If you want a relaxing holiday swimming in the clear turquoise water, reading a book on the terrace or watching the locals fishing or yachts and gullets arriving as the sunsets then this place would suit you perfectly at this time of year.
This was our first hotel-type experience with Simpson and we really enjoyed it. The hotel is small enough to make you feel that you are staying with a family and yet the service is that of a boutique hotel. Great location, no traffic, lovely views and warm sea, nice sun jetty, and good access to local bars and restaurants. The rooms are a little dated and there are limited electrical sockets but then who spends their day in the room when you can be swimming, sunbathing, or spotting wildlife like fish, dolphins and turtles – as we did.
I can't praise enough your representative at Losta. He was very helpful in giving us information and making reservations when requested. Also the resort owner went far beyond what could be expected in helping us resolve a difficult situation –arriving with no luggage! Our time at Losta was exceptional.
The service provided by Nihat, your representative, was exceptional. He arranged a boat trip for us as well as a driver for a day, sightseeing and a restaurant reservation. Additionally he went out of his way to find us on our departure (second week was not through Simpson but flights were through you) and wished us well and check we had had a good holiday. He was very knowledgeable of the area and is a credit to your company.
Highly polished delivery by Simpson, as with our previous trips with them.
Excellent holiday – accommodation was superb. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We had the best breakfast we have ever had in a hotel. The tea and cake every afternoon was worth making sure you were back in time! The setting is beautiful and we spent all our time looking at the view either from our balcony or from the decking. There was a great choice of restaurants. A hidden gem. We will definitely return.
Losta Sahil Evi is a perfect place to retreat – calm and beautiful, in a small fishing village. The staff are friendly and helpful. We hired a car so we could explore the surrounding area (but also used local buses). The rooms were clean and comfortable and an extensive Turkish breakfast each morning got each day off to a great start. We loved it.
Arrived on Sunday to watch the tail end of Storm Zorba blow up through the Bozburun Peninsula – certainly started our two weeks here at Losta with a bang. A great location to relax and unwind, the biggest decision of the day being which restaurant to visit. Our personal favourites were Uzum and Delice for wonderful fresh octopus, calamari and bass/bream. If you get the chance visit Söğüt, the windswept side just over the hills. A boat trip is a must to swim/snorkel in the clear waters. If not too hot, climb the hills behind you. And finally, everyone at Losta is wonderful. All smiles and warm heartedness.
Thank you all at Losta Sahil Evi for a truly wonderful stay. We are so happy to have found this heavenly place to stay and love Selimiye. The location of the hotel is magical. Staff have been attentive and served us delicious breakfasts. We also loved the restaurant Losta. Almet took us in the rib for a tour round the inlet, which was great. This is such a special place. Loved the tea and cake on deck too.
Losta Sahil Evi is a little gem! It was wonderful to open the door early morning (06:10) and see the sun rising over the hills. We found if you opened it wide enough, it was shining on us sitting in bed! It is just a minutes’ walk to swim in the flat, calm sea and then dry off watching the tenders from the yachts going into the village for their bread. Then it is time for the most glorious breakfast. Magic!
Our first trip to Turkey in June was made really pleasurable due to the high level of attention to detail Simpson Travel put in. We loved our hotel and destination. The staff were so friendly, the hotel very comfortable and the quality and amount of healthy local food at breakfast was something we shall never forget. I sincerely hope to make Losta Sahil Evi a place we come back to again and again. We felt really spoilt.
What a wonderful place to stay. We have been so well looked after by all the staff. So many places to eat. The Losta Hotel Restaurant Paprika for coffee and cakes, Uzum, and if you like slightly bohemian pay visit to Delice. Also take a trip to the Loca Hotel up in the hills, great food and amazing views. They’ll also pick you up and drop you back. The most special day was when we went out in the Santa Maria boat for a day and were treated like royalty. Thank you, Simpson Travel, for the best holiday ever. We can’t wait to come back.
We’ve really enjoyed our stay at the Losta Sahil Evi in Afrodit. A perfect combination of great weather, great food, great hospitality and a great location have all made for a memorable and relaxing week. Selimiye really is a wonderful place and we were so pleased to have discovered it! Try Paprika for refreshing fresh lemonade with mint. Best meal for me (a non-meat eater) was a swordfish kebab at the Aurora but we did not have a bad meal during our stay. We also ate at the hotel restaurant and Delice for spectacular views. The Loca restaurant is a must – wonderful at dusk. The hotel jetty is the best in Selimiye, great location away from the ‘main’ hubbub and on your doorstep. The breakfast is AMAZING and afternoon tea and cake provides a welcome break from sunbathing. Thank you so much to everyone for making our stay special!
We wondered if perhaps we might be slightly disappointed with the reality of Losta Sahil Evi as it looked so idyllic on your website – but it certainly did NOT disappoint and we would love to repeat our experience there in the future. Jessica Sutton, the Simpson Travel representative, is a wonderful young woman who knows everything about this area and she was incredibly friendly and so helpful. Thank you Simpson Travel for a wonderful week.
Superb location. Our second visit there and they remembered us. Nothing was too much trouble.
Losta Sahil Evi was tranquil and beautiful offering complete rest with the option of excursions inland or at sea. The lunches were extremely good and Turkish tea with homemade cake at 4.30pm daily was a real treat. We stayed in Afrodit on the ground floor which has its own entrance and small terrace. The accommodation was very quiet, comfortable and cleaned daily. The Turkish breakfast served each morning from 8.30-10.30am in a covered area in front of the bar was both plentiful and delicious. The deck in close proximity to the room was simply fantastic, the subeds and parasols complete with Simpson Travel towels made it very easy to spend the whole day there. A lovely experience with excellent staff service throughout our stay.
Simpson Travel for us are the travel experts. Wonderful locations and accommodation with excellent, knowledgeable and friendly staff throughout the organisation. A great website that whets the appetite for the beautiful locations that more than live up to expectations. Add all the personal touches and it is difficult to see why you would want to travel with anyone else.
Simpson Travel is by far the best tour operator we have used. From booking to ease of paying, to the local rep, Jess, who was very knowledgeable and very helpful, to the beautiful accommodation and great staff in Turkey. Our holiday was the best that we have had in many years and now that we've found Simpson Travel, I doubt very much we'll be going elsewhere.
Wonderful spot for swimming and watching the boats. Very well looked after, delicious breakfasts and tea. Eaten at lots of different restaurants along front. Boat trip – good way to explore but otherwise stayed here – too hot for exercise!
First class. We will look to book with you again.
We have enjoyed a wonderful week at the lovely Losta Sahil Evi Hotel and am sure we will come back in the future. We stayed in a balcony room named Aura and the comfort of the room was excellent, from a comfortable bed to an exhilarating shower! Food at the hotel was of a very high standard at both breakfast in the hotel and at the Losta Restaurant in the evenings of which we dined there on four evenings, waiting staff were always very attentive without being overbearing. Afternoon tea was a plus, cakes and dessert made by the lovely Zaneb (always happy and smiling). Orcun was always on hand to offer some Turkish phrases, cay, and a chat! Along with Ahmet the hotel manager, they made our stay that little bit more special. Finally a big thanks to Jessica, who gave us a lot of info on the area and some good suggestions for things to do and restaurants to visit, her knowledge of the area was invaluable, a wonderful holiday. Thank you Simpson Travel.
Absolutely beautiful place. Jessica was most helpful and Orchan was fantastic at the hotel. Hopefully we will return!
We've had a wonderful holiday. Very relaxing, wonderful walking area and great swimming. All the staff have been friendly and nothing has been too much trouble. Keep up the good work.
This was one of the best holidays we have had. Selimiye was everything we had been told it would be and the location of Losta Sahil Evi couldn't have been better. We especially enjoyed the closeness of the pontoon and the fact there were plenty of sunbeds. Excellent service and a clean and comfortable room. It was altogether a wonderful week, and we would like to return again in September, if we can. Thank you.
We loved Losta Sahil Evi; it's hard to beat the location right on the waterfront and in a quiet spot, yet still close to centre of Selimiye. We stayed in Asia, which was really lovely, although both other rooms offered through Simpson Travel also looked very nice. I suspect there's not a bad choice. Our rep was so kind and thoughtful that we felt almost bad about not taking up any of her interesting trip suggestions and just lying on the swimming platform for a fortnight! If you are looking for a low-key break in a beautiful spot, and a small resort that still has a very Turkish feel, then you couldn't do much better.
What a find Simpson Travel – excellent from start to finish. From now on our 'go to' holiday company.
Both Losta Sahil Evi and Waterfront Cottage were absolutely wonderful. Losta Sahil Evi is the most perfect little hotel. Its position is ideal, the staff extremely friendly and welcoming and the food delicious. The view from our upstairs room was beautiful and it was lovely to have had the jetty for reading, relaxing and having access to the water. We look forward to returning! Our rep, Bilgen, was charming, well-informed, generous with her time and a delight to get to know. At the end of our two weeks we didn't want to leave Turkey. Thank you Simpson Travel!
Simpson Travel is a friendly, very experienced company who offer a personal service. Our first holiday with them has ticked all our demanding boxes and they will now be our operator of choice for Turkey and other European destinations. It's so much easier to book a holiday with a company who has anticipated your needs and puts a tempting range of options in one place. Why look elsewhere?
Selimiye is the most beautiful spot to spend a holiday in Turkey, in terms of both the actual place and the accessibility of the hotel to shops and restaurants. Mr Phillips – September 2015 The BA flight was first class good service all round. It is nice to be met at the airport and taxis are ready waiting to transfer us to our destination. Our second year to Selimiye and the hotel and staff were once again excellent, very friendly and always willing to help that extra bit. The only problem is the food (you won't lose weight) at the hotel and any of the restaurants as it is so good!!! Thoroughly enjoyed. 11 out of 10.
This was the second time we travelled with Simpson Travel and we were not disappointed. Charlie (who booked the holiday) was very efficient and gave good advice. Ayten (our representative at our resort) was also very helpful and gave useful local advice. She also made a couple of arrangements for us (boat trip and a dinner reservation) and gave accurate, detailed information regarding cost and logistics, etc.
Our holiday (a very short two weeks) has been an amazing one. The people have been so kind and friendly, not to mention patient with two English people trying their hardest at Turkish. The restaurants have all been beautiful. A special thank you to all at the hotel for making this so much fun.
Selimiye is a small, beautiful and peaceful village probably best suited to those who have visited Turkey previously. The setting of the Losta Sahil Evi is excellent.
Simpson Travel is a very efficiently run holiday company. All the staff, whether on the phone or face-to-face know their job and carry it out well. Excellent locations and accommodation.
