The ground floor double bedroom also incorporates an adjoining baby room, complete with cot, changing table, stair gate and high chair to make life simple as possible for younger families. And as an extra bonus, the airport transfer time is less than 30 minutes by car, so the kids can be sun-screened up and in the pool before anyone can say ‘are we nearly there yet’!
A house of this size works really well for an adult group too, with a bath or shower room for each bedroom and several different terraces offering sun or shade, so there’s room for everyone to spread out and enjoy a little private space. It’s an ideal property for those looking for a slightly more authentic Algarve experience, located on a hillside near the village of Santa Bárbara de Nexe. From here you get sweeping country views all the way to the sea, but none of the coastal crowds, and the village has a couple of restaurants plus a mini market for your daily shopping needs. If you feel like some brighter lights or a few hours on one of the Algarve’s many amazing beaches you’ll find golden sands and waterside restaurants at Faro beach, around 20 minutes away. Quinta do Lago, equipped with just about every holiday facility you could wish for, is a 25-minute drive, but for a true taste of the Algarve, there’s everything you need for a memorable family holiday right here at Casa da Criança.

Algarve holidays promise a wealth of different experiences and landscapes, whether you choose a private villa or a hotel as your base.
Portugal’s most southerly region boasts an iconic and instantly recognisable coastline of fine sandy beaches backed by ochre-yellow cliffs, sea stacks and rock archways that stand testament to the power of nature. Portuguese cuisine is in our view one of the most underrated in Europe, so prepare to be deliciously surprised by fresh fish, hearty stews, sweet pastries and of course, world-renowned wines: saúde!
