NEW FOR 2026

Located just a 10-minute walk from Cabrières-d’Avignon village centre, this beautiful, family-sized house delivers character, convenience and considerable comfort, all wrapped up in pretty, private grounds on the edge of one our favourite villages in Provence. It’s a brilliant base when you need a pool and runaround space for the kids, combined with the option of an easy stroll out for the daily baguettes or le menu du jour in charming Cabrières.

The house is built in classic local style, with olive-green shutters, a terracotta roof and rough-hewn walls the colour of early morning sunshine. Surrounded by tall trees for privacy - including the eponymous cedars - the grounds are a lovely feature of Maison des Cèdres equipped with a large private pool and a shady dining pergola so you can eat outside even in the height of the summer. The interiors are cool and inviting, contemporary and elegant, making this a chic retreat that would perfectly suit an adult party as well as a family.

The Luberon needs little introduction, but Cabrières d'Avignon is one of the less-well-known of the region’s delightful, honey-coloured villages, bordering a fragrant cedar forest threaded with walking trails and bike paths. In addition to the village bakery and grocery store you’ll find a popular bistro within easy walking distance, making Maison des Cèdres and ideal base for an effortlessly relaxing holiday in Provence.

The local area
When you're ready to explore beyond Cabrières d'Avignon, many of the region’s most sought-after towns and villages are within a 15 to 20-minute drive, including Gordes, Lacoste, Ménèrbes and the red cliffs of Roussillon. The once-abandoned village of Oppède-le-Vieux is now flourishing once again and definitely well worth a look, not least for its dramatic hillside location. Also close by, L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is the self-styled antiques capital of the region, and a lovely place to shop or stroll along the river.

There's no better way to while away leisurely holiday hours than by visiting the many Provençal villages with their cobbled streets and cafés. Hilltop towns glow in pale golden stone, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and fields of fragrant purple lavender. From celebrated Gordes to charming Eygalières, each town has a market to help you discover local produce, or treat yourself to a long lazy lunch; from pavement cafés to Michelin stars, the midday meal in France is nothing short of an art form.

The cities of Avignon, Orange, Nîmes and Arles offer an architecturally rich and cultural day out but try to make time for lesser-known gems like Vaison la Romaine, Uzès and Ile sur la Sorgue for a less crowded but equally impressive picture of the history of the region.

A day at the beach is always an option but you can find other open water options closer to home, from child-friendly paddling in the River Gardon below le Pont du Gard, to kayaking down La Sorgue as it winds its way through the Luberon. Close to Avignon, Lac de Monteux has a lifeguarded beach and various water activities for all ages.

This is a destination to rival any other. Complemented by our selection of handpicked villas we can help you make the most of your luxury holiday in Provence.
