We’ve had a fabulous fortnight at Villa Rüyam! Apart from a visit to the vineyard (worth a trip) we’ve not left Söğüt. The beach, far and right out of the villa, is usually empty in the mornings. Great for swimming and sunbathing and then the afternoon by the pool. We walked up to the upper village twice – once on a Monday for the market – great for fruit, veg and salad as well as honey. We bought great lamb chops and kebabs from the butcher too. The Patisserie does good Turkish coffee and sweet treats. You can get all you need from the minimarket down here though and the owner is very helpful. It’s a lovely morning walk out to the lookout on the end of the promontory, left side of the bay. About an hour along a rough, stoney path. We took 2 boat trips (arranged through Sophie who is terrific) to little coves, great swimming and lovely food, would thoroughly recommend. We don’t normally go anywhere more than once but are likely to make an exception for Söğüt. Meltem is a lovely woman who looked after us so well.

We had never been to Söğüt before and wow it did not disappoint. Beautiful villa. We spent our time either out the front, which included the Manzara staff launching their fleet of boats, or around the beach, by the pool. The local supermarket met all of our needs and we went to the Monday market in Söğüt. Did the morning boat trip. Loved it. Loved the place, will be back.

First time in Söğüt having sailed the Datça peninsula previously. Great place to relax and look forward to returning again. Found Söğüt to offer a great blend of sun/sea/relaxation and a feeling of a Turkish resort enjoyed by the people of Turkey. Took the ½ day boat trip which we loved – fantastic swimming spots, excellent food and friendly crew. The villa is lovely. Thanks also to Sophie for excellent concierge and suggestions. Having travelled with Simpson’s over the past few years, when reading about Söğüt and all the wonderful reviews, it exceeded all our expectations! During our stay we visited Selimiye, Bozburun & Çiftlik beach, but our “happy place” was back at Villa Rüyam. As our stay was at the beginning of the season, we watched with interest the opening of the restaurants and how the locals took such pride in their businesses. We ate in all restaurants within the village and also Manzana - everyone exceptional! The market on a Monday in the “upper village” and shops, once again all the locals so friendly and helpful. We would like to give special thanks to Melthan during our stay, who kept the villa so clean and was always on hand when needed. Sophie our Simpson’s representative was so helpful and informative and drove all the way from Dalaman to ensure all was okay on arrival - thanks so much Sophie! We shall without a doubt return to what is such a special place.

Our first time visiting Sogut and we were not disappointed. A little gem of a place which has stolen a little piece of our hearts! We visited Çiftlik beach, which was very quiet with crystal clear waters. We also liked Selimiye for a wander around. It has been super hot this week at 45°, so we didn’t do as much as we were expecting to but it has been a lovely place to relax.

Our week in Villa Ruyam was the most idyllic holiday we have ever had. Sogut is such a special place - authentic and charming. The scenery is beyond stunning and whilst we normally rush around all over the place, we spent ages on the terrace, watching the sunrise and spectacular sunsets and the local life unfold in front of us. We were made to feel part of the community and when we left, it was like saying goodbye to friends. Nihat, the local concierge, was superb - nothing was too much trouble and any queries answered immediately. Meltem the housekeeper was a star and keeps the villa immaculate. Our third holiday with Simpson in 3 years. Since discovering Simpson’s travel we are loathe to use another company. Not only was the accommodation impeccable but small touches like a stocked fridge including fresh fruit make a huge difference on arrival. Nico, our local rep was charming and incredibly helpful with great local knowledge. He looked after us very efficiently but with no intrusiveness. We will definitely be returning next year.

The Villa is in a wonderful position only yards from the waterfront with an excellent selection of small restaurants to choose from within a few moments stroll along the beach. The house itself is extremely comfortable with an efficient air conditioning system ( it was very hot during our stay !), well appointed rooms and plenty of places to sit outside in the large and shady garden with its lovely pool- itself always a few degrees cooler than the sea so very refreshing after a long lazy dip swimming along by the beach . We had a marvellous week.

Once again Simpson show themselves to be an excellent travel company. We've visited Sogut several times but this was our first stay at Villa Ruyam and we felt immediately at home.
