If you want to get into the real spirit of island life without sacrificing on comfort, this gorgeous little waterfront house will speak to you. Located right above the old harbour promenade, it’s irresistibly photogenic in bold blue and white, and brimming with Skopelos character, all within strolling distance of a wide range of tavernas, cafes and shops.

The house extends over three floors to maximise the space of its exceptional location, with views of the sea from almost every room. The best view is from the large bedroom on the top floor, where you can lie in bed and watch the boats bobbing in the glittering blue Aegean below. The interiors are simply finished for an uncluttered feel, almost nautical in their clever, space-saving design that somehow has room for everything you could need.

Staying here means you’re perfectly placed for exploring the town’s maze of narrow streets, secret courtyards and pretty churches, and you’ll want to wander up to the sunset view points at least once during your stay. The town beach and other small swim coves are easily reachable on foot.

Muragio House is no typical holiday villa, and is not recommended for children under 12 or anyone not comfortable with the many steps in and around the harbour.
