On an island where coastal development is strictly controlled, a large villa so close to the beach is a very special find. Decorated in laid-back, beach-house style, it’s a divine, swimwear-and-sarong sort of a place, where you can spend the day flitting between your own private terrace, the pool and the beach as the mood takes you, always within sight and sound of the sea. The owners have provided two paddle boards so you can explore a little way along the coast or just float out with a mask for a glimpse of the underwater world in the turquoise bay. And if you need to escape the sun in the heat of the day, there are three separate living spaces in addition to the four bedrooms, so everyone can find their own niche to relax.
With no near neighbours, staying here feels almost like having your own private island, yet there’s a beach restaurant just a five-minute walk away in the main summer season. For more choice, Bonifacio port, with its many cafés, restaurants and beach boutiques, is around 20 minutes away by car.
