There’s so much to see and do for all ages and interests on the Algarve that it’s hard to think of a better European destination for a group holiday, be it a bunch of mates or a multi-generation gathering. This beautiful big villa is tailor-made for larger parties, sleeping up to 18 in 10 attractive bedrooms.
The house is effectively split over three linked properties, so it’s ideal for mixed groups or perhaps three families looking to spend time together whilst also having a little extra space when needed. Each of the individual properties has three or four bedrooms and bath/shower rooms, plus a living-dining room and modern kitchen. If you’re the kind person organising the group, we suggest you earmark the master bedroom for yourself as it comes complete with its own terrace and private pool, but there are plenty of terraces and balconies around the villa so that everyone can find their own place in the sun. The main pool also has a Jacuzzi section where you can all get together to rest and play, and at the end of the day, the rooftop terrace is the perfect place for a sunset barbecue. The views from up here are fantastic, looking out over the Atlantic ocean to the south, the Monchique mountains to the north, and to Sagres and Cape St Vincent to the west.
Experience tells us that the other key ingredient for a successful group holiday is being able to walk to nearby amenities so everyone is free to come and go as they please. Casa Barnace comes up trumps here once again, with Luz centre and beach about 20 minutes away on foot. Charming Luz has expanded to become a popular watersports hub in recent years, and several WWII wrecks off the coast make it a mecca for divers. Above all, Luz remains a welcoming, family-friendly beach town, complete with a picturesque promenade for evening strolls and enough restaurants to cater for all tastes.

Algarve holidays promise a wealth of different experiences and landscapes, whether you choose a private villa or a hotel as your base.
Portugal’s most southerly region boasts an iconic and instantly recognisable coastline of fine sandy beaches backed by ochre-yellow cliffs, sea stacks and rock archways that stand testament to the power of nature. Inland, there are rolling hills dotted with citrus and olive groves, plus crumbling castles, mountain villages and walking paths to explore.
