BAU FULL STACK DEVELOPER

£40 - £45k per year depending on experience

Hybrid role: 2 or 3 days in our Richmond, London office and 2 or 3 days at home

 

The Opportunity

As a Full Stack Developer you will be working across all of the business systems for this award-winning Luxury Travel Company; your role will begin by providing support and maintenance to meet the requirements of the various business departments, implementing bug fixes, minor enhancements. Once up to speed there will be the opportunity to contribute to more major development projects.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Design and implementation of front and back end solutions to urgent business requirements
  • Interfacing with business teams directly to provide day to day operational support and point of contact for live issues as well as ensuring their ability to use the business systems effectively
  • Improving the quality of the codebase as you make changes, making sure such changes are documented and adhere to coding and QA standards
  • Implementing automated unit testing for the software developed ideally with TDD/BDD
  • Work within the continuous integration environment to make sure hot fixes are pushed to production in a timely manner supported by the QA lead

 

Skills and Experience

      • At least 2-3 years commercial experience
      • Experience in implementing business process automation tools
      • Full Stack development experence (ASP.NET, C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, ReactJS, AngularJS, MS SQL Server)
      • CMS experience e.g. with Umbraco
      • Continuous Delivery skills, tools and techniques (e.g. Git, Github, Jenkins, Docker, Vagrant, Chef, Puppet, Selenium, etc.)
      • Familiar with Azure cloud services & setting up/managing resources/deploying apps Capable of working with (and developing) multiple (REST) APIs documented with e.g.
      • OpenAPI/swagger Other API messaging formats e.g. JSON, XML, SOAP
      • Experience of structured testing and quality assurance approaches (e.g. Test Driven Development and Behaviour Driven Development)
      • A positive and cooperative individual who will work effectively across departments and within a team

OVERSEAS CONCIERGE - PAXOS, GREECE

Seasonal Role between April 2023 – October 2023

Working in Paxos, Greece

 

We are recruiting for a representative to work in a small team providing our guests with excellent customer service.  The position is responsible for approximately ten villa arrivals per week and includes all aspects of looking after our customers, including pre arrival contact, meet and greet at the port and customer support during their stay.  You must be resourceful and have an ability to put people at ease.  An eye for detail is vital as is initiative, drive and passion. Due to the demanding nature of the role, flexibility and the ability to react quickly are essential. Accommodation and car are provided as part of this role.

      • Flexibility and resilience to deal with a fast paced and 24/7 nature of looking after guests overseas
      • Collaborative by nature
      • Wholly focused on the customer's experience
      • Creative problem solver
      • Strong attention to detail
      • Calm under pressure
      • Right to work in Greece (EU passport or Greek work permit is a prerequisite)
      • A full clean driving license and eligibility to take out car insurance in Paxos is essential (please check before application)

CUSTOMER SERVICES EXECUTIVE

Seasonal Role between April 2023 – October 2023

Working in either UK Richmond Office or Corfu Town Office

 

The client’s experience of Simpson Travel is at the heart of everything we do and really listening to their feedback at every stage of their contact with us is vital to our on-going success.  The Customer Services Executive (CSE) will play a key role in responding to feedback received by telephone, email and via our customer service questionnaires, and will work with our overseas teams to put matters right for the future assisting both UK and overseas teams with feedback and information in order to eliminate future issues.

 

Key Responsibilities

      • Resolve and respond to all complaints that are bought to the CSE’s attention via phone, email, CSQ or letter.
      • Be fully conversant with and adhere to ABTA’s Code of Conduct; be aware of any updates; use guidance provided by ABTA to ensure adherence to good practice. Liaise with ABTA on any complaints that require assistance. Manage ABTA case arbitration, collecting evidence and updating the ABTA team as requested
      • Trip Advisor & Trustpilot: Daily management to ensure that any negative comments are responded to immediately and positive comments added by other Simpson guests to move negatives down the page; respond to all comments, including positive feedback
      • A genuine desire to provide exceptional service, experience of successfully resolving customer complaints and a confident telephone manner
      • Assisting in the management, creation and editing of Qualtrics feedback surveys

Key Requirements

      • Confident on the telephone
      • A high standard of written and spoken English
      • Confident with the MS Office – Excel, Word, Powerpoint and IT systems generally
      • Ability to relate to different personalities
      • Natural empathy – crucial to complaint management
      • Problem solving skills
      • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
      • Passport and the ability to travel when the business requires it of you

Desirable: Knowledge of Package Travel Regulations and ABTA code of conduct

PRE-DEPARTURE CO-ORDINATOR

Based in our Corfu Town Office

March – October 2023

As Pre-Departure Co-ordinator you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our valued guests and ensure they have everything they need and require before their holiday. This is a highly focused guest facing role managing all our post sale interactions with guests, including hands on daily communication with guests, servicing their holiday requirements, organising and booking extras and experiences that complement their holiday and resolving any escalated issues or complaints.

 

You will take responsibility for all post-booking activities. You will be expected to review and implement strong processes, to ensure that the workloads of peak season can be achieved. 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Proven track record in a targeted Service environment
  • Ability to work under a high level of pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Ability to forge and maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally
  • Highly flexible and resilient, ability to bounce back from setbacks and focus on the end result
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator – the ability to proactively turn complaints and situations around when needed
  • A mixture of both weekday and weekend work operating on a rota system over 5 days per week, with start and finish times varying between 10am and 8pm
  • You must already be a resident in Corfu and have the right to work in Greece
