This large, private and immaculately kept villa has been cared for by the same local Mallorquín family for several generations, and their pride in the property really shines through. Set in 30,000m2 of gated, enclosed grounds, the sense of space is deeply relaxing, with countryside and farmland all around, and splendid views of the Sierra de Tramuntana. The owners try to keep the environmental footprint of the finca to a minimum, so the grounds and beautiful free-form swimming pool are chemical free and therefore kinder to young skin as well as the planet. Beyond the pool lie orchards and open grassland, with endless opportunities for screen-free play. And if all you really want to do is feel the sun on your back and read in peace, there’s masses of room for everyone to spread out and enjoy some well-deserved holiday downtime.

Campo Vista was designed with families in mind, with a first-floor master suite, complete with sun terrace, and three further twin bedrooms. It’s also a good base for a group of friends, with lots of lounging and dining space for easy barbecues and long-overdue catch ups over a bottle or two of fine Binissalem wine. You’re likely to spend most of your time outdoors, but for afternoons when it’s too hot, or cooler evenings, the living area is very comfortably furnished, making this a good choice for early or later season holidays. Another big plus is the proximity to Búger, Mallorca’s smallest municipality with a population of less than 1000. Búger is one of those lovely little places that thrives in spite of tourism rather than because of it, with a popular traditional restaurant and proper bakery for a rather more authentic experience than you find at the coast. For more eating out choice there’s Sa Pobla, under ten minutes away in the car, with a handy train station if you fancy a day in Palma without the hassle of parking. And when the beach beckons, we recommend Playa de Muro: five kilometres of Blue Flag-awarded fine sand and aquamarine sea, and an easy drive from your delightful holiday home-from-home.
