From the shady corners under the olive trees to the sun soaked terraces around the pool, villa Balik is absolutely delightful. We loved the balcony off the main bedroom, the perfect spot from which to enjoy morning coffee looking out across the bay, and the spectacular views from the roof terrace took our breath away in the evenings. Villa Balik is truly enchanting, a calm oasis where we could relax in the day, yet it’s just a five minute taxi ride into the centre of Kalkan for dinner. So pleased we picked this little gem, it was such a delight.

We stayed at Villa Balik in Kalkan in the last week of September. It is a lovely stone house which has been tastefully furnished. The layout took some getting used to but we ended up really liking it. The pool is excellent for relaxation or doing lengths as it is quite long. The pool did lose the sun at around 3pm each day which was not a problem because it gave us welcome shade. A lovely quiet position only a short walk from a couple of beach clubs.

Am writing this on our last morning, waiting to go to the airport and feeling slightly sad as we’ve had such a good time! Villa Balik is amazingly positioned with beautiful views to Kalkan – especially looking at the twinkly lights at night! We spent hours up on the roof terrace with a cold beer doing this. The villa is beautiful with lovely gardens and great attention to detail with lots of nice seating areas. We were pretty lazy spending time at the beach clubs. The last word should go to Aisha who is delightful and so helpful. Our first time with Simpson but I suspect not our last!

Villa Balik is probably the loveliest villa we have ever stayed in. Hidden away on the south side of Kalkan the beautifully kept garden and quirky style of this villa offers a calm space to rest and relax away from the busy town centre. The villa itself was a highlight for us but we also enjoyed trips into the mountains to escape the heat and the chilled out boat trip courtesy of the Kalkan Regency and Simpsons. Our holiday was made extra special by the wonderful Aisha who honestly could not do enough to help us. The restaurant recommendations were excellent and we were never disappointed. We had a super week at Villa Balik, which we soon discovered to be a wonderful oasis and tranquil place to unwind and relax in! We can highly recommend the day trip to the Greek island of Meis where you can swim in the Blue Caves and visit St. George’s Island. Also the day trip on Poseidon, compliments of Simpson Travel, was well worth it, where you’re able to relax, enjoy the ride in comfort, whilst enjoying great hospitality from the crew, and of course plenty of opportunity to swim in the sea. A huge thank you to Aisha, our concierge, who looked after us and organised everything perfectly! She always responded to messages quickly, no matter what time of day and is absolutely charming!

What a wonderful time we have had at Villa Balik. We have enjoyed every minute both relaxing around the pool at the villa and experiencing all of the things mentioned by previous guests. We combined the hammam at the Kalkan Regency with the Turkish barbecue there, which made an excellent evening. Sea kayaking round Kekova was a real highlight as was the breakfast at Bel Mvar but basically it was all fantastic. On a practical note, Pasaport Pizza was an excellent option when we didn’t fancy going out – great pizzas delivered in around 20 minutes! Kitty was super helpful both before we arrived and during our stay. Thank you Simpson Travel – another great holiday. Hopefully we will return to Kalkan and Villa Balik again one day.

Villa Balik is in a ‘suburb’ of Kalkan which made it ideal for a quiet and scenic base for the holiday. There is a great, inexpensive water taxi service across the bay to Kalkan for a wide choice of restaurants, shops and other amenities. The day cruise included was superb as was the complimentary Turkish bath at the Kalkan Regency Hotel – a new and memorable experience. The whole holiday experience was of the highest quality; Simpson never fails.

Villa Balik was the ultimate holiday bolthole, every detail was considered from the gorgeous pool to the excellent roof terrace. A gardener visited every day to bring bread and tend to the pool and flowers. Bridgette, the local representative was really helpful.
