Why Visit Fornalutx & Sóller?

Renowned for its extraordinary beauty, this stunning village is widely regarded as the ‘prettiest village in Mallorca’, and is located deep in the heart of the Tramuntana Mountains within a spectacular valley just a few kilometres from Sóller. The scent of orange and lemon groves drifts from the surrounding terraces and orchards as you follow the narrow cobbled lanes and explore the delights of the old village, whilst enjoying breathtaking views of the mountains and valleys.

Popular with walkers, hikers, painters and photographers, Fornalutx’s architecture, landscapes and pretty vistas demand to be viewed and explored. Leading off the tiny main square are the villages’s several restaurants and small cafés where local foods and flavours can be enjoyed; with its sprinkling of ancient stone streets and a wealth of lush vegetation, it is easy to see why Fornalutx has won awards for its conservation and beauty.

History and Culture

Dating back to the 10th century, Sóller is a thriving town whose narrow winding streets are home to a cluster of colonial mansions leading to the main square, Plaça de la Constitucio. Dominated by the Church of Sant Bartomeu, the square bustles with life. Colourful cafes, restaurants and bars have outdoor spaces on the wide tree-lined pavements where you can watch the trams weave their way out of town, journeying through orange and lemon groves to the chic Puerto Sóller.

Palma is an hour away by a scenic train whose wooden wagons pass through tunnels carved into the mountains, providing wonderful views of the Mallorquín countryside.
