Thea Cottage Greece, Kefalonia

This appealing seafront cottage is perfectly situated between Foki Beach and the delights of Fiskardo harbour.  Traditional, yet comfortable the cottage is in a wonderful location and the perfect place to sit on the spacious balcony and watch the boats pass by as they enter Fiskardo.  Just opposite the cottage, down a few steps, is access to the sea for a refreshing morning swim.

The attractive harbour of Fiskardo, with its beautiful old houses and stylish shops and restaurants, is just a 12 minute stroll away and Foki beach, a curve of pebbles and the natural shade of olive and cypress trees, is closer still. A boat can be hired from Fiskardo to explore the many tiny coves along this coastline.

  • I have to say that Simpson provided us with the best holiday experience we have ever encountered. From the incredible service from the booking team down to the local Simpson representatives, the efficiency and support during our last minute booking and the quality and location of the accommodation we could find no fault. I know that Simpson will be our first choice when booking our next holiday. Thank you to everyone at Simpson for making our week away truly magical and one that we will never forget. Lance and Natasha Mr Farnham - July 2016
  • We have just spent a very relaxing, chilled out week in Thea Cottage, Fiskardo, Cephalonia. The view was wonderful which made it very tempting to stay put on the terrace watching the super yachts sailing in and out of Fiskardo Harbour. This was our third visit to Fiscardo, therefore we did not bother with a car this time. There are plenty of restaurants/tavernas within walking distance and we had already explored the Island on our previous visits. We did, however, walk to unspoilt Foki beach, to the deserted village near Antepata and to the lighthouse which we could see from our terrace on the other side of the bay. Swimming was also possible from the rocks just below Thea Cottage. The weather and location were truly perfect. We are looking foward to our next Simpson holiday! Mrs Williamson - August 2015
  • We usually travel independently but this time round we just didn't have the time to put it all together so this is where Simpsons Travel stepped in. Really can't recommend them highly enough, made the whole trip a joy, hassle-free. Miss Walters - May 2015
  • Just completed a week in Fiscardo in Kefalonia with Simpson Travel May 2015, and I can reassure potential customers that we were very well looked after by this very professional travel company. Mr Wexelstein - May 2015
  • We are so glad we happened to find simpson travel on the internet.we took a chance and it paid off we had a wonderful stress free holiday from start to hesitation in returning next year... Mrs Hicks - August 2014
  • Thea cottage was excellent with wonderful space and amenities. the owner, Anthony, was also very helpful. It is possible to have an interesting holiday without hiring a car. there are splendi walks around Fiscardo and beaches very close by. Mrs Farish - September 2013
  • Thea cottage fulfilled all our expectations and more of our Greek holiday. Simpsons service has been brilliant from deciding and booking through to return flights. Fiskardo is a lovely resort which is relaxed and easy going with plenty of restaurants and bars for all budgets. It is great for people/super yacht watching!!!! The views from Thea cottage are beautiful and the Greek people are so kind, helpful and friendly. Some super walks if you holiday in the cooler months and we managed a couple in the August heat!! We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary on holiday this year and it was worth the wait!!!! Mrs Carter - July 2013
  • Thea Cottage and Fiskardo were a a wonderful introduction to Kefalonia. Wendy is a great rep and what a pretty and green island with all its flowers, herbs and scents. We some excellent food and local wine. Altogether a very good week. Mrs Peed - May 2013
  • As the last guests of the season at Thea Cottage we can agree with most of what has gone before. Most of the tavernas were open until our last weekend and the thunderstorms which arrived on Saturday night. We walked to Antipata for lunch, but did not make it back for a full meal, and went out for a day on the ferry to Lefkas, which had closed for the season, so we sat in the sun until the ferry returned. Wendy, Adonis (and his mother’s biscuits) were as welcoming and helpful at the end of the season as at the start. Mr Mcdonald - October 2012
  • Thea Cottage is just what is says on the tin – we just chilled for the week, watched boats and swam off the rocks. On the first night, at 1.30 in the morning we spectacularly locked ourselves out whilst celebrating Europe’s Ryder Cup victory. We could not make contact with anyone and ended up sleeping on the balcony – luckily it was warm! We tried all the usual restaurants, they all have their own merit depending on which dish you choose. The real highlight of the holiday was hiring a boat for the day. We made our way to a secluded cove and dived and snorkelled from the boat – idyllic! But beware of the big, fat naked Greek man on his yacht trying to impress his much younger totty. We are not sure whether it was the size of his mast or wallet that attracted her. All in all it was the holiday we had hoped for. Mr Notton - September 2012
  • Overall I was very impressed and would like something similar but at a different location next year - can you make any recommendation? Mr Notton - September 2012
  • The intention of booking Thea Cottage was for a week’s relaxation after a busy year with our daughter’s wedding in July, and that is just what we got. This was our third visit to Kefalonia, second with Simpson Travel, and first to be based in Fiskardo. Can’t really add more about Thea, with the added bonus of a fabulous view. We booked a car as we wanted a bit more flexibility of where we could go, and when. Saying that, we only really used it for meal trips to Antipata. Also made two trips to Assos for lunch and sunbathing, and to look at ‘our new house’ – the pink/blue one slightly set back from the front ones on the bay. Eating out for all meals was fantastic. Kefalonia has always been our favourite Greek island since first visited. Our stay in Thea Cottage re-confirmed that. Wendy great with useful information, and Andois is on hand if required. Mrs Freeman - September 2012
  • The only problem with our week at Thea Cottage is that was should have booked to be here longer! It’s been a delightful week. Much of it spent watching the world (or mainly yachts) go by from the balcony. We also spent several hours just sitting and reclining on the rocks (take something soft to sit on, rocks are hard!) down the steps across the road from Thea Cottage. The walk around to the lighthouse and the ruins of Basilica was very enjoyable! We took a taxi to Assos and walked up to the ruins of the old Venetian fortress. Great views from the top. Foki Beach, just a 10 minute stroll away is very peaceful even when there are quite a few people there. Take something soft to lie on though, it’s a pebble beach. I hope we will be back sometime. Mrs Jordan - September 2012
  • Have had two lovely weeks at Thea Cottage which is charming, and has a wonderful location. Weather good, except for last few days when there was amazing electric storm and torrential rain which lasted a long time – 2 + days! We enjoyed being on our balcony so much it sometimes seemed like we never moved – great for boat watching. We walked most days to Fiskardo for shopping/lunch and maybe dinner and hired a motor boat one day and in the second week did the snorkelling trip – was brilliant. Also got a taxi to Assos for swim/lunch which was really cute, Foki Beach was lovely with good snorkelling and shade. We bought very lightweight air-mattresses from the UK which coped with Foki’s pebbles. As everyone has commented Wendy is a very good rep for Simpson and Adonis is helpful. Thea Cottage has been a lovely place to spend 2 lazy weeks. Simpson have got a gem on their hands, a property with a large, comfortable bed, a shower that you can stand under with hot water at decent pressure, and enough room inside and outside. Would like to think that we’ll be back! Mr Kenning - September 2012
  • What a wonderful week in a beautiful location! Thea Cottage really couldn’t have suited our needs any better. On foot we’ve needed to go no further than Foki Beach and Fiskardo for shopping and harbour front dining. A day out on a boat from Fiskardo saw us find a secluded beach of pure white limestone pebble just a little bit south of the small island of north Daskalion. We had the beach to ourselves all day. Our Rep Wendy is amazing – knowledgeable, helpful and very interesting to chat to – she went out of her way to help us, and on her day off too! Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we have. Mr Kearney - August 2012
  • It’s been a wonderful week here. This house has everything we needed. The balcony is fantastic to spend time on and the steps down to the water make it so easy to spend a lot of time swimming. We loved our day with the small motor boat. Myrtos Beach is beautiful at sunset. Thank you so much for the welcome pack of food, bin bags and toilet roll etc. Wendy, for all your helpful advice. Thank you too to Adonis, his mother (for the biscuits and fresh flowers) and Anna for such a clean house. Mr Graham - August 2012
  • We came to Thea Cottage for a relaxing holiday together – and that’s exactly what we had! We had lovely summer afternoons in the late sun, just sat on the balcony people and boat watching! Every evening we walked into Fiskardo for our dinner. We hired a boat for the day – fantastic way to visit all the caves (we didn’t want or need a car). Just watch with the cost of fuel – this is additional. We loved just going down the steps to our cove – we met a lot of local families who were all really friendly. Tip – buy a €4 foam mat for comfort! Thanks to Wendy and Simpson Travel for a wonderful holiday. X Mr Gaskin - August 2012
  • Thea Cottage - Perfect location – just far enough away from Fiskardo to be peaceful but close enough to walk in easily. - Veranda is perfectly shady with a fabulous view (especially with binoculars to watch the boats). Also great on an evening with one lantern and a drink. - Everything we needed. The basket of goodies on arrival was great and homemade biscuits a real treat. Fresh flowers in a vase also a nice touch. - Great to be able to get into the sea by just walking down the steps in front of the cottage. Weather - Perfect 28 – 33 degrees and always a gentle breeze to keep you cool. Walks - The must walk we did was to the deserted village (not to be missed). About 1 hour there and back. Go up the steps and you will come across a lovely hidden gem (take own drinks). - Walk around headland past lighthouse and Emblissi Beach also lovely. Trips out - We only hired a car for 1 day which we felt was all that was needed. - Assos – walked up to the fortress. - Myrtos – nice view from the top. - Agia Efimia – also lovely for boat spotting as some great boats in the harbour. - Antisamos – too busy on the beach (I came to Kefalonia about 15 years ago and remember it being very peaceful so a bit of a shame). - Hired a boat and visited lots of bays - Dafnoudi and Polis Bay on Ithaca but our favourite was Kaminia Beach (quietest). Boat day was a real highlight of the week. - Snorkelling and swimming great everywhere in all bays and around this area (safe) and some nice colourful fish to see. We swam around to Foki Beach and beyond but difficult to get out on the rocks sometimes. Wendy & Andonis were very helpful and a nice welcome. You cannot fail to have a wonderful holiday at Thea Cottage and do not really need to venture very far. Dr Player - July 2012
  • Congratulations to Simpson on finding this wonderful cottage. The owner Adonis was most hospitable without in any way being intrusive. Wendy’s help with local knowledge and customs was invaluable. The weather has been truly wonderful – although extremely hot – 40 degrees. As a result we never felt the urge to explore as far afield as we might have done in cooler conditions...nevertheless, Fiskardo provided much enjoyment. The highlight for us was hiring a boat and exploring the boat. There are so many secluded beaches to enjoy. We made two boat trips to Ithaca. Finally we enjoyed Foki Beach – a short walk from the cottage. For swimming the small beach in front of the cottage is very good – shallow if you want to bask and yet plenty of deep water for some serious swimming. It is impossible not to enjoy this cottage and the veranda, simply watching the yachts coming and going. The binoculars were a really helpful addition to the inventory – much appreciated. Mr Rothwell - July 2012
  • Our first holiday with Simpson's was so good we look forward to booking again in future. Mr Lloyd - June 2012
  • We have been fortunate to have had 2 glorious weeks in this beautiful spot. Thea Cottage has suited us well. A beautiful view from this lovely shady veranda. We have watched a number of boats come and go including some ‘super’ boats. Thanks to Adonis for the binoculars. We have explored a bit using the car to visit Assos (beautiful). Myrtos Beach, Agia Efimia and the caves of Melissani Lake. We have visited local beaches Foki to the right, the lighthouse opposite and Emblissi and Dafnoudi – all beautiful in different ways. We have seen lots of sea life – starfish, fish, octopus etc and some interesting insects, butterflies and reptiles. We hired a boat and went to Polis Bay in Ithaca – we walked up to Stavros. Our thanks to Wendy who has looked after us, Anna who has kept us comfortable, and Adonis for his help. Well done Simpson! Mr Lloyd - June 2012
  • We only had a week and no car – the intention was to relax in the sun and get away from the UK’s usual dismal summer! We loved it all – weather, Fiskardo – especially Thea Cottage. We sat on the terrace and watched the boats most late afternoons and swam from the rocks opposite (mostly we were there on our own). We walked to Foki Beach only 10 minutes away, several times. Walked to the lighthouse and swam from the rocks, walked to Emblissi Beach (mostly main road and no shade) but worth it – the swimming was just wonderful. We cooked twice. Simple fare but lovely to sit out eat and watch the evening light! Our thanks must go to Adonis (very helpful at sorting out the TV for the football match) and Wendy was also very helpful full stop. We had a fabulous stay. Mr Bates - June 2012
  • Fantastic 2 weeks here at Fiskardo. Very good location, not far from harbour, restaurants and beaches. Walked to Foki Beach. It’s about 10 minute walk, as you come out of the gate, turn right, small quiet beach with a café and toilet. Drove to Dafnoudi Beach. It was difficult to find at first. It’s on the right hand side of the road at the end (the wire fence can open) - oh, it was breath-taking. Hired a small boat, moored at Polis Bay and walked to Stavros – very steep hill, took us 20 minutes to walk, but it’s worth it. Went on 2 boat trips, one to 3 islands and to Ithaca. Nice, cool breeze on the boat. Wendy was a great help, ensured we are not ‘lost’ in the crowd. Adonis was helpful if problem, see him. Mr Culver - June 2012
  • Had a great week here in Fiskardo. Weather was fabulous apart from a thunderstorm on the first day. Shorts and skirts for us! Lots of things within walking distance, which was great, although we did have a car. Nice just to sit out on the balcony and relax! Pleasantly surprised by the lack of traffic on the island, but I suspect that may change as the season wears on. All in all, a fabulous week! Mr Thomas - May 2012
  • Yassas! We’ve had a brilliant time here at Thea. Things we have especially enjoyed are: - A lovely walk down the trail to Dafnoudi Beach - Hiring a boat and sailing to Ithaca. Have a great time - the cottage was perfect for our needs and Alonis is very helpful! Mr Price - May 2012
  • We spent a wonderful week at Thea Cottage. Had everything we needed and a lovely welcome by Adonis. No car – so we walked everywhere. This was a great way to see Fiskardo and surroundings. We found places we certainly would have missed by car! Our great find? Kaminia Beach – down a long dirt track and through the woods to a sparkling bay. This was ours for the day – tranquil, beautiful and blissful. No cooking for us either! We loved Fiskardo and Thea. A perfect holiday! Mrs Duncan - May 2012
  • Kalimera! Found Thea Cottage easily and was welcomed warmly by Adonis. Cottage lovely – they seem to have thought of everything. Drove to Myrtos Beach and Assos – worth a visit despite the scary roads. Foki Beach is just a 10 minute walk and is lovely and quiet. Drove and walked to Dafnoudi Beach. The walk was easy and well worth the effort. Hired a boat and went to Ithaca. Moored in Polis and walked up to Stavros – quite a climb! Walked round to the lighthouse and swam off the rocks. Had a wonderful week, weather great, sea a bit chilly. Mr Watson - May 2012

Infants are permitted a 10kg checked bag allowance plus a fully collapsible pushchair, a car seat and one piece of hand luggage for items required in the flight (subject to security restrictions).
Any excess baggage will be charged at the airport. As this is a BA charter service, BA miles cannot be accrued or earned on this flight, nor can BA Executive Club members access the airport lounge.
If you are flying with Easyjet you are permitted to carry one piece of checked luggage per person (excluding infants) up to 20kg. One piece of hand baggage is permitted measuring a maximum 56 x 45 x 25cm (including wheels, pockets and handles) which you must be able to place and retrieve safely in the overhead lockers without assistance.
If you are flying with any other airline, please check the airline’s website for details.

Instead of full meals, BA now operate a ‘buy on board’ service offering sandwiches, snacks and drinks in conjunction with Marks & Spencer. Only card payments are accepted and choice may be limited, so you might find it easier to take food and drink onto the plane with you. Easyjet offers a pay on board snack service.

Some airlines offer passengers the opportunity of pre-booking guaranteed seats together at a pre-paid supplement (seats may be situated either side of an aisle) and some offer seating with extra legroom for a reasonable supplement. Availability and supplements can be advised at the time of booking.

You will usually need a certificate of fitness to fly if you are more than 28 weeks pregnant. Most airlines will not allow you to fly if you are more than 32 weeks pregnant. Please refer to the airline’s website for details of their policy.

Most countries require that the airline take additional information from each passenger such as full name, date and place of birth, passport number, country of issue and expiry date. You will need to provide this information at the time of booking or, at the very latest, prior to release of your travel documents. You are able to complete the details online via Manage My Booking or call a member of our Pre-Departure team.

The name shown on the itinerary must exactly match the name of the passenger travelling as it appears in his/her passport (first full name and surname). If not, you may be refused boarding. Once your flights have been booked, it is not usually possible to make name changes without incurring substantial charges. If there are any errors on your invoice or itinerary, please inform us immediately.

In the event of a flight delay, whenever possible we will ensure that the airline/operator communicates the reasons for and extent of any delay and implements appropriate standards of welfare provision. EU carriers should also comply with EU Regulation 261/2004 in the event of delays, cancellations or denied boarding and guidance is provided on the CAA’s website

Most of our holidays include an air-conditioned hire car, to be collected from and returned to the airport (or port where applicable). The category of car included in the basic holiday price will vary according to the number of people in your party. We do not consider infants as part of the total party size. The cars we have included offer comfortable seating for the size of party travelling, however, we do ask you to take into account the size of the boot space for your luggage if any infants are in your party, and the number of child and baby seats required. You may wish to upgrade your car to give you extra comfort and space. Availability and supplements for upgrading will be advised at the time of booking. For transporting extra luggage it is also possible to pre-book a taxi at additional cost.

The types of cars listed are only examples of car models in each category. We cannot guarantee that you will receive a specific make or model.  All cars in Greece are 5 door.

  • Unlimited mileage
  • Local taxes and compulsory insurance
  • Two main drivers. Please note that there is a minimum age for drivers (minimum ages vary from 21 to 25 and can be advised at the time of booking) although there is no maximum age limit. Drivers must hold a British/EU Driver’s Licence or International Driver’s Licence, held for at least 2 years. You will not be able to hire a car without your original, valid Driver’s Licence which you must carry at all times when you are driving.

As conditions vary throughout Greece, please ensure you ask for full details at collection, before you sign your car hire contract.

The insurance will not cover:

  • Tyres, including puncture repairs
  • Loss of or damage to car keys (and costs incurred due to this, for example towing and replacement keys, etc.)
  • Windscreen, wing mirrors or undercarriage (you should not drive off-road)
  • Interior of car is also not covered in Corfu and Paxos
  • Personal Accident Insurance (this should be covered by your personal travel insurance)
  • Any damage, loss, accident, theft, attempted theft, etc. caused by your own negligence, for example, driving under the influence of alcohol, unlawful driving, driving off-road, using wrong type of fuel, unlocked doors, apparent personal effects, etc.

The car hire agents will require you to lodge a credit card deposit when you collect your car. No money will be taken if you return the undamaged car at the correct time with the correct amount of fuel and not requiring cleaning.

Child and baby seats (forward facing seats only are available) can be provided if booked at least 2 weeks prior to your departure and are charged at £2 per day. Please remember to specify the age of the child. Local car hire and Simpson Travel staff are not authorised to install the child seats and as style and installation may differ to those in the UK, you may prefer to bring your own child seat for your own peace of mind.

Please refer to the information at the top of the page for details of the transfers included in the cost of your holiday. Taxis are licensed and insured to carry up to 4 passengers. Therefore, if there are 4 passengers and an infant then 2 taxis are needed and we will provide you with a separate quotation. If you are travelling with young children or babies, child seats are not provided for any vehicles used for transfers. For your own peace of mind, we recommend that you bring your own although there is no guarantee that local taxi companies will allow the use of child seats. Please note that the transfer times included in our accommodation details are approximate estimates only and do not include any waiting time.

Although we pre-arrange and book your ferry crossings in advance, poor weather or ferry cancellations may disrupt the schedules. In most cases, when you arrive at the port you will have to wait a certain amount of time for your onward boat transfer. If your flight experiences delays and you miss your pre-booked boat transfer, we will then book you onto the next available boat. If you miss the last ferry due to a flight delay or cancellation due to poor weather, it may be necessary for you to overnight at the port and then take the ferry the following morning.

Air-conditioning and heating
We have indicated in the property descriptions which accommodation has air-conditioning included in the holiday price. Heating is available in some of our properties during the low season weeks, which is normally included in the holiday price.

Animals and wildlife
As in all rural communities, indigenous animals are an essential part of the way of life. The braying of a donkey, crow of a cockerel or the barking of a dog is not a complaint that receives much sympathy from the locals! Care should be taken to minimise the presence of insects and animals in your accommodation. Keep surfaces clean, dispose of refuse regularly and ensure that food is not left uncovered. Cats and dogs are often resident where an owner or manager lives on the property. If you are allergic to cats and/or dogs please ensure that you check the suitability of your chosen accommodation with us prior to confirming your booking.

We have specified if a barbecue is available at your accommodation. Please note that often in summer, due to the hot weather, use of your barbecue may not be allowed and/or strict rules for its use may apply. The local or national government reserves the right to introduce new rulings at any time, often with little prior notice, prohibiting the use of barbecues to reduce the risk of fires. Where a barbecue is not provided, it is usually because the surroundings are considered a fire risk or inappropriate for the use of barbecues.

Beach/pool towels
We provide Simpson Travel beach/pool towels in all our self-catering properties and Simpson Hotels, and these are normally laundered weekly.

Please note that a double bed could be two single beds placed together. Double beds usually measure 140cm x 190cm and single beds 80/90cm x 190cm. If you are booking a hotel room, please let us know your room preference (double or twin). Although we will make every effort to convey your request to the hotel, we cannot guarantee your preference will be available.

Check-in and check-out
You will usually be able to occupy your villa, apartment or hotel after 4pm and you must vacate it on the day of departure by 10am and 9:30am in western Crete.

Self-catering accommodation is cleaned a minimum of twice a week (including arrival day) and some accommodation may be cleaned more often. Cleaning usually consists of a sweep, mop, bathroom and kitchen tidy up.  (N.B. Simpson Secret, Anti Paxos is cleaned once a week on changeover day.)

Distances and timings
Please note that all walking and driving times stated are approximate estimates only. Transfer times are also approximate estimates only and do not include any waiting time.

Hotel bookings with half-board include dinner, which is usually a fixed menu with or without a choice of dishes. In some hotels, you may take your half-board meal at lunchtime.

Health and safety
Simpson Travel is committed to raising the standards of health and safety throughout all our destinations. Our guests’ safety and wellbeing is of the highest importance to us. However, please note that since many of our properties are private homes, it is not always possible to meet the same exacting standards as in the UK. In your accommodation we will provide any necessary health and safety information. We ask you to familiarise yourself with this information and the property on arrival, particularly when travelling with children, and to raise any concerns with your local representative.

In some properties a baby monitor has been provided and to the best of our knowledge it is operating correctly but it is vital that you check regularly that the device is operating to your satisfaction. We strongly advise against relying on the baby monitor in case of malfunction. Simpson Travel cannot be held liable for any malfunction of the baby monitor and the use of the device is entirely at your own risk.

Internet access and connection
If a property offers wifi or internet access, the type of connection may vary. Additionally, the signal could be intermittent at times and may not be available in all areas of the property. There may be a charge for internet use in some properties.

Linen and laundry
Bed and bathroom linen is provided and usually laundered twice weekly. For your convenience some of our properties have a washing machine.

Noise and building works
Traffic, farm work, roadwork, animals and other sounds form part of everyday life, however, what constitutes ‘noise’ to one person may not be a problem for another. Please let us know if you have any special needs regarding this. Occasionally, building work is unavoidable as we do not control such work and may not know about it in advance. Whenever possible, we will notify you of any work that we believe may affect your holiday.

Only guests named on your invoice are entitled to occupy the accommodation.

Throughout Greece, especially in the older houses, the plumbing system is not designed to have items flushed down the lavatory. Where necessary, bins are provided in all bathrooms.

Satellite television
We cannot guarantee that a full selection of satellite channels will be available. Channels in English may be very limited and these are often only CNN or BBC World.

Seasonal facilities
Some facilities are subject to weather conditions and the general season, for example swimming pools, restaurant terraces, pool bars, local restaurants, and they may be limited or unavailable at the beginning or end of the season. Please do not hesitate to check with us, should a particular facility be a necessity to you.

Security and cleaning deposits
For self-catering properties, we require you to lodge a security deposit against any breakages, damage, losses, extra cleaning or outstanding accounts, which you may have incurred during your stay and/or due to your negligence. This should be provided by credit or debit card at the time of booking by providing authorisation for us to deduct (within 14 days of your return home) any advised charges from your card. Most of our properties are the owners’ personal homes and repairs, replacements and extra cleaning can be very expensive, so we do ask you to take care in order to avoid incurring extra costs.

Swimming pools
Swimming pool details are given on our website. Pool dimensions are approximate only and, unless specified otherwise, pools are freshwater and unheated. In Paxos most pools are filled using ‘sweet water’, which is generally a mix of well water (with some salt content) and fresh water. Dates when pools are operational are subject to the prevailing weather conditions at the time of opening and closing and we cannot be held responsible if poor weather means the pool is opened later, or is closed earlier in the season.

Upon arrival at your accommodation, we kindly ask you to acquaint yourselves with the pool’s safety and hygiene rules. Very few pools have covers, fencing or life rings, so children must be supervised at all times. Some pools are ‘infinity pools’ which have an exposed pool edge with an unprotected drop. This maximises views and is an attractive feature of the pool. We recommend that children are supervised and that you do not sit, lean or walk on the unprotected edge.

Villa owners
Whilst the owners or staff of some properties may live on site and tend to the grounds, they are aware that you value your privacy, and will do their best not to intrude. We do ask you, however, to allow them reasonable access to the property so that they can maintain the grounds and keep them in good order.

Welcome Pack
We offer a welcome pack in all our self-catering accommodation consisting of a small selection of staple items and local produce. This usually includes the following complimentary items: coffee, tea bags, milk, bottled water, fruit juice, bread, butter/margarine, crisps, white wine, local beers, tonic, pasta, pasta sauce, yoghurt, honey, regional biscuits, washing powder, washing-up liquid, dishwasher tablets, washing-up sponge, salt and pepper, sugar, olive oil, vinegar, mixed herbs and toilet paper.

Our choice of Greek properties is as diverse as the islands themselves, ranging from simple seaside charm to genuine luxury and style. Much of our portfolio is privately owned, and price alone is therefore not a universal guide.

We contract all our accommodation in person, and each property has its individual appeal. To help you make the right choice based on your own priorities, we have devised a simple grading guide to be considered in conjunction with each individual property description, awarding up to a maximum of five stars for the below categories.

Grading Criteria:

Position, view, serenity, privacy

Space, style, furnishings and interiors

Property enhancements

Proximity to beach, restaurant and shops

For further clarification on Facilities, please view the 'Details' tab for each property or speak to one of our experienced sales consultants.
