Explore outlying corners
While the popular south west remains the island's traditional holiday hub, its north eastern tip hides an easily overlooked gem: Fiskardo, a declared area of outstanding natural beauty.

Gently sophisticated while retaining its quintessential character as a fishing village, Fiskardo is where the majority of our luxury properties are centred. It is nestled within a horseshoe bay once guarded by a Venetian lighthouse, a short nautical hop from Kefalonia's other sister island, Ithaca.

Ionian nature, style and heritage, in harmony
Villas in Kefalonia have been handpicked for their exclusivity and aesthetic qualities, within a lansdcape of densely forested hills dotted with the occasional hamlet – so wonderful for walks – and a coastline indented with small, quiet coves and beaches. The Emelisse Art Hotel offers a waterfront location, perfect for a hotel in Kefalonia and for those looking for apartments, the Manona Suite offers a lovely a romantic break.

But trips to this beautiful unspoilt island destination also hold a promise of historical interest, particularly in the wake of the best-selling 'Captain Corelli's Mandolin', and Fiskardo doesn't disappoint: pastel-coloured 18th century houses stand proud with their small, flower-festooned balconies and carved doors; vestiges of World War II are never far away, while recent finds (jewellery, pottery and bronze offerings) point to a Roman settlement.

Greek menus still reflect their island roots and even the more fashionable restaurants and shops sit in perfect harmony with the traditional bakery and kafeneion.
