Villa La Vigne Corsica, Porto Vecchio & Bonifacio

Located in the working vineyard of the famous Clos Canarelli Estate, Villa La Vigne has been furnished to a high standard with two en-suite bedrooms. It has a good sized swimming pool and large sundeck.

The villa is a short drive from the village of Figari with its small supermarket, two bars, restaurant and snack bar. Figari’s beaches are also very near and it is only a 20 minute drive to the bustling town of Porto Vecchio.

The Estate winery is located close to the villa where they offer wine tasting experiences as well as an opportunity to purchase the award-winning local wine.  During the grape harvest of the vines opposite the house in September, the owner invites our guests to participate in the traditional hand picking of the grapes and delights in explaining the delicate processes that the grapes endure to produce his award winning wines.  He also offers any guests who feel like a day's grape picking six bottles of his rosé wine!

Tarabucetta is a convenient 15-minute drive from Figari airport, which means planes are visible and sometimes audible depending on the wind direction. However, it’s not a busy airport and daily flights are relatively infrequent.

  • We had a beautiful, peaceful week here. Loved the pool, clean and refreshing! The views are amazing, we had a day of rain and so went into Bonifacio which is well worth a visit. House is so well equipped and clean, Muriel (rep) was lovely, and ran though places and beaches to visit. We are sad to leave, very chilled and relaxed and we will definitely be back. Alex & Roz - September 2016
  • Our second stay at the Canarelli Estate - we went to Vermentinu last September, both villas are excellent. Muriel has been really helpful, with great recommendations for other restaurants, bakeries, etc. The weather has been brilliant! Clive & Jane - June 2016
  • What a great service from Simpsons: immaculately presented properties in good locations and the local representatives are efficient, helpful and knowledgeable. We will be using Simpsons again and also recommending to friends. The quality of their properties and their website stand out from the multitude of internet holiday sites. Mrs Taylor - June 2015
  • Great holiday, lovely setting, lovely places, relaxing family time (just what we needed after really stressful times). Great care and service from Simpson's with the welcome pack coming as a really nice surprise. Missing Corsica a lot! Mr Gruszecki - June 2014
  • Another brilliant holiday with Simpson Travel. A great villa in a vineyard surrounded by spectacular scenery with beautiful beaches and glorious weather. This Corsica holiday was one of our best. Can't fault the service of the Simpson team. Always helpful, unobtrusive and know their stuff. Thank you Simpsons. Mrs Simpson - May 2014
  • Following a visit to U Piazalle in the north, we were so impressed with the service and quality of the accommodation that we booked again with Simpsons to visit the southern part of the island. We were not disappointed and our week at Villa la Vigne was heavenly. The villa was stunning and the local area is a great mix of lovely beaches and awe inspiring peaks. We will definitely be back to Corsica as there is so much more to explore Mrs Gould - September 2013
  • Our first visit to Corsica after several previous visits to other parts of France. Although the arrival day was a little cloudy, the rest of the week was very good and we enjoyed trips out to Sartene, Bonifacio and particularly the excellent coastal views on the road to Sartene. For much of the time we relaxed well at the villa - pool really clean and refreshing and lovely outlook also over the vineyard. Mr and Mrs Whitehouse - September 2013
  • This is our third trip to Corsica with Simpson Travel and we had yet another fantastic holiday. We spent many hours swimming and relaxing around the pool. Our favourite beach is Palombaggia but the ice-creams on Santa Guilia are to die for! We'll be back! Astur Family - August 2013
  • A glorious week at La Vigne. Relaxing mornings spent by the pool, followed by lazy lunches and trips to the beach in the afternoons. Our favourites were Palombaggio and Santa Guilia, although the absolute favourite was the Plage de Rondinara – accessed via a breath-taking drop over the mountains. Why would you go to the Caribbean when Corsica has such beautiful beaches to offer? ‘Laura’ the administrator of the winery kindly gave a tour of the premises and we took the opportunity to purchase a few liquid reminders of our stay – after much tasting of course!! Bonifacio and Porto Vecchio are a must, containing both historical ramblings, shopping and in the evening a sophisticated evening out – do try the seafood and particularly the mussels and prawns. Liz was fantastic and provided some great recommendations and help!! Our first visit to Corsica but already planning the return visit in 2013! Enjoy! Mr & Mrs Bundock - August 2012
  • My mother and father went to the winery next door. My favourite beach was Santa Guilia, they have the most delicious vanilla ice creams. In Bonifacio there is a boat ride where you go into an amazing cave. There is also my favourite ice cream shop there. There are usually some big boats in Bonifacio. Corsica does amazing chocolate mousse. Have a superb holiday. Sophie (aged 11) Miss Bundock - August 2012
  • Had a fantastic week here at La Vigne and thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Corsica. We spent most days here at the villa in and out of the pool. We visited Tonnara beach but found it very busy and the villa more peaceful! We loved Bonifacio – good places for relaxing and watching the world go by. Boat trip lovely – very hot so take hats and sun cream. All in all a great week. Thanks to Liz for her recommendations and so useful welcome pack. Mr & Mrs Rae - August 2012
  • What a wonderful villa – gorgeous views and so peaceful. We absolutely loved our time here – endless jumping in and ‘Olympics’ races in a sublime pool. Bonifacio – boat trip a must. Liz absolutely brilliant – great advice and enjoyed our chats over coffee. Had a wonderful meal cooked by Jo one night – would thoroughly recommend. Sad to leave – hope you enjoy as much as we did. Mr & Mrs Knight - August 2012
  • Our third visit to Corsica. Tonnara beach – not at all busy, great for snorkelling and short swims to an island. Palombaggia – beautiful circular drive. Great beach, but park up early (no problem at 9:30!) Porto Vecchio – V busy in the evening so need to get there early to park up. Great atmosphere. Bonifacio – two visits here, one in the day (train to main town). We celebrated a birthday here with the help of Jo – great to have a night in, not driving. We chose scallops, pork and she cooked two puds – lemon tart and pannacotta. Fab! Clos Canarelli rosé available at €12 a bottle – no 2011 red or white left! Laura was very helpful but not English speaking; she sorts the cava and wine tastings. Liz’s enthusiasm for the island will rub off – she knows where to go, what to do. Thanks. Mr & Mrs Edwards - July 2012
  • We arrived at Villa La Vigne with high expectations, as we were here to have a week of relaxation and adventure for our honeymoon. As the weather was overcast and rainy on our first day, we ventured up the winding roads to L’Ospedale. We continued further up the road to have our first adventure quad biking for an hour around the forest. We then walked for 90 minutes to see the Piscia di Gallo waterfall – very steep at the end but lovely. On Tuesday we went to Bonifacio. We did a boat trip for an hour to see the caves and views from the sea. The next day we went canyoning! We opted for the challenge of Canyon de la Vacca – it was tough but so much fun! Jumps 8 metres high, abseiling down rock cliffs and sliding off waterfalls. We decided to relax by the pool and enjoy some wine tasting next door on Thursday – yum! On Friday, we hired a boat to explore the bays north of San Ciprianu. On Saturday, we went on a 30 minute helicopter ride up to Bavella and then back down to the bays near Porto Vecchio. We briefly explored Porto Vecchio. We rounded off a great day by relaxing by the pool, enjoying some champagne. All the trips, activities and meals out were organised thanks to Liz, who was always available to assist and provide information. A great villa, lovely views, easy access to beaches/sights and the sun stayed out from day 3 onwards – yay! A great honeymoon. Mr & Mrs Adcock - July 2012
  • Great experience using Simpsons and we will be using you again! Thanks to Liz for helping us so much whilst we were away! Our honeymoon was great thanks to Simpsons travel so i will be forever grateful! Mr Adcock - July 2012
  • We were looking for a sunny and relaxing week away from London, and we certainly found that here at La Vigne! We didn’t do too much venturing out of the villa but we did get to see Bonifacio (highly recommend the 1hr boat tour) and Porto Vecchio and its beaches. (Again highly recommend the Plage de Palombaggia and the entire beach loop). We mostly cooked for ourselves. Thanks to Liz, for the above recommendations and ensuring we were comfortable during our stay! We’re sad to leave. Ms McKnight - June 2012
  • Thanks Simpson for another fantastic holiday – and our first time in South Corsica. What a lovely view from the villa – from every angle. It was a bit windy during our first week but it didn’t stop us getting out and about and to the beach. Can thoroughly recommend the drive from the Solenzara up into the mountains – spectacular. Also, we enjoyed Sartène. Our favourite beach was Little Sperone – the most perfect beach I’ve ever been on and the water definitely warmed during the second week. We saw quite a bit of wildlife here too – wild boar, tortoise, red kites and we think an eagle. Liz was really helpful and gave us loads of ideas for where to go – thanks to Liz- we’re so envious that you live out here. Hope everyone else who stays here enjoys it as much as we did – hope to come back and continue exploring. Mr & Mrs Oates - June 2012

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office provides up-to-date travel information to help British travellers make informed decisions about travelling abroad. Should you wish to check their advice or information about the destination you are travelling to, please visit their website: or call 020 7008 1500.

For most of our self-catering accommodation we are able to offer accommodation only prices (excluding flights, car hire and transfers). Restrictions may apply at certain times of the year.

Children aged 2-11 years are eligible for concessions of between 5%-25% of the holiday price. This is offered at most of our self-catering properties depending on departure dates. High season dates are excluded. Two full paying adults must be travelling in order for child discounts to apply. For further information please call our sales consultants.

There is a charge of £75 per infant (under 2 years) on all our holidays. Travel cots and highchairs are provided free of charge in our self-catering properties, however, some hotels may charge for these items and we will advise you of any extra costs at the time of booking. Many hotels offer reduced rates for children if they share the same room as their parents.

In order to allow you to co-ordinate your holiday arrangements with friends and family, in many cases we are able to hold an option for up to 24 hours before confirming your booking.

In order to confirm your booking a deposit of £225 per person is required unless you are booking accommodation only in which case 30% of the total holiday cost is required. However, if we need to buy in flight seats especially for your booking, we will ask you to pay a higher deposit to include the cost of the flights. This payment is non-refundable. The balance payment for your holiday should be paid at least 10 weeks prior to your departure. We accept most debit cards and credit cards, and personal cheques. All payments made by credit card will be subject to a 1.25% charge* reflecting our incurred costs. (*American Express is subject to a 2% charge.) Multi-centre holidays incur a £25 per person administration fee.

Please familiarise yourself with our full booking terms including our cancellation policy here.

Most of our self-catering accommodation is privately owned and sometimes it is the owner’s main residence, which they vacate for the summer season. In order to protect the furnishings and fittings, some owners require a security deposit which is collected 3 weeks prior to departure. The deposit will be refunded in full within 7 days of your return provided there is no damage or additional cleaning required and the property remains in the same condition as upon arrival. If a security deposit is applicable, the amount required will be stated in the Details section of the property. Please alert your local representative to any breakages or damages during your stay.

It is compulsory that all our guests have comprehensive travel insurance and we will need full details of your policy at the time of booking or before you travel.

Your travel documents are available to download and print 2 weeks prior to departure provided you have paid in full, completed and submitted Advanced Passenger Information and car hire details (if applicable). Please note if you are travelling with Ryan Air you will only be able to download your boarding passes approximately 7 days before departure due to the airline's check-in requirements. Should you prefer to receive your documents by post, please ask us at the time of booking.

It is your responsibility to be in possession of a valid passport and any necessary visas. EU citizens do not need a visa to travel to France. If you are a non-EU citizen then you should check with your own embassy for the entry/re-entry requirements necessary for your journey. Children not on an accompanying parent’s passport before October 1998 are now required to hold their own passport if they are under 16 years. If you do not have a passport, it is recommended to apply at least 6 weeks before your holiday. Passports should be valid for 6 months after your return date.

Our prices are based on our lowest contracted fare. Occasionally it may be necessary to purchase flights outside of our normal allocation and in these circumstances we may need to charge an additional supplement to reflect the extra costs incurred. This will also be the case if we are booking flights from regional airports or on flights where we do not have a seat allocation. If a supplement applies, this will be advised to you at the time of booking.

Infants are permitted a 10kg checked bag allowance plus a fully collapsible pushchair, a car seat and one piece of hand luggage for items required in the flight (subject to security restrictions).

Any excess baggage will be charged at the airport. As this is a BA charter service, BA miles cannot be accrued or earned on this flight, nor can BA Executive Club members access the airport lounge.

If you are flying with Easyjet you are permitted to carry one piece of checked luggage per person (excluding infants) up to 20kg. One piece of hand baggage is permitted measuring a maximum 56 x 45 x 25cm (including wheels, pockets and handles) which you must be able to place and retrieve safely in the overhead lockers without assistance.

If you are flying with any other airline, please check the airline’s website for details.

It is common for airlines to change their restrictions on luggage weight and the number of items so, before travelling, we recommend you check the airline’s website for the latest information.

British Airways offer a buy on board snack service on our flight from London Heathrow to Figari. Easyjet offers a pay on board snack service.

Some airlines offer passengers the opportunity of pre-booking guaranteed seats together at a pre-paid supplement (seats may be situated either side of an aisle) and some offer seating with extra legroom for a reasonable supplement. Availability and supplements can be advised at the time of booking.

You will usually need a certificate of fitness to fly if you are more than 28 weeks pregnant. Most airlines will not allow you to fly if you are more than 32 weeks pregnant. Please refer to the airline’s website for details of their policy.

Most countries require that the airline take additional information from each passenger such as full name, date and place of birth, passport number, country of issue and expiry date. You will need to provide this information at the time of booking or, at the very latest, prior to release of your travel documents. You are able to complete the details online via Manage My Booking or call a member of our Pre-Departure team.

The name shown on the itinerary must exactly match the name of the passenger travelling as it appears in his/her passport (first full name and surname). If not, you may be refused boarding. Once your flights have been booked, it is not usually possible to make name changes without incurring substantial charges. If there are any errors on your invoice or your itinerary, please inform us immediately.

In the event of a flight delay, whenever possible we will ensure that the airline/operator communicates the reasons for and extent of any delay and implements appropriate standards of welfare provision. EU carriers should also comply with EU Regulation 261/2004 in the event of delays, cancellations or denied boarding and guidance is provided on the CAA’s website

Most of our holidays include an air-conditioned hire car, to be collected from and returned to the airport (or port where applicable). The category of car included in the basic holiday price will vary according to the number of people in your party. We do not consider infants as part of the total party size. The cars we have included offer comfortable seating for the size of party travelling, however, we do ask you to take into account the size of the boot space for your luggage if any infants are in your party, and the number of child and baby seats required. You may wish to upgrade your car to give you extra comfort and space. Availability and supplements for upgrading will be advised at the time of booking. For transporting extra luggage it is also possible to pre-book a taxi at additional cost.

The types of cars listed are only examples of car models in each category. We cannot guarantee that you will receive a specific make or model.

Local car hire and Simpson Travel staff are not authorised to install the child seats and as style and installation may differ to those in the UK, you may prefer to bring your own child seat for your own peace of mind.

GPS is available for £14 per day with certain models of vehicle but must be pre-booked. We recommend that you use the Simpson Travel driving instructions rather than the GPS when driving from the airport to your property.

Please refer to the information at the top of the page for details of the transfers included in the cost of your holiday. Taxis are licensed and insured to carry up to 4 passengers. Therefore, if there are 4 passengers and an infant then 2 taxis are needed and we will provide you with a separate quotation. Air-conditioning and heating
We have indicated in the property descriptions which accommodation has air-conditioning included in the holiday price. Heating is available in some of our properties during the low season weeks, which is normally included in the holiday price.

Animals and wildlife
As in all rural communities, indigenous animals are an essential part of the way of life. The braying of a donkey, crow of a cockerel or the barking of a dog is not a complaint that receives much sympathy from the locals! Care should be taken to minimise the presence of insects and animals in your accommodation. Keep surfaces clean, dispose of refuse regularly and ensure that food is not left uncovered. Cats and dogs are often resident where an owner or manager lives on the property. If you are allergic to cats and/or dogs please ensure that you check the suitability of your chosen accommodation with us prior to confirming your booking.

We have specified if a barbecue is available at your accommodation. Please note that often in summer, due to the hot weather, use of your barbecue may not be allowed and/or strict rules for its use may apply. The local or national government reserves the right to introduce new rulings at any time, often with little prior notice, prohibiting the use of barbecues to reduce the risk of fires. Where a barbecue is not provided, it is usually because the surroundings are considered a fire risk or inappropriate for the use of barbecues.

Beach/pool towels
We provide Simpson Travel beach/pool towels in all our self-catering properties and these are normally laundered weekly.

Please note that a double bed could be two single beds placed together. If you are booking a hotel room, please let us know your room preference (double or twin). Although we will make every effort to convey your request to the hotel, we cannot guarantee your preference will be available.

Check-in and check-out
You will usually be able to occupy your villa or apartment after 5pm and you should vacate it on the day of departure between 9am and 11am. Please refer to specific property details for exact times. Most of our hotels follow common practice with regard to check-in and check-out times (around midday); however some have later check-in times between 3pm and 5pm. Please refer to the individual property information for timings.

Self-catering accommodation is clean on your arrival and for two week stays it will be cleaned mid-holiday. The mid-holiday clean includes bathroom, kitchen surfaces, floor sweeping and change of bed and bath linen. If additional or more frequent cleaning is required, this can be arranged locally with our representative at an additional cost.

Distances and timings
Please note that all walking and driving times stated are approximate estimates only. Transfer times are also approximate estimates only and do not include any waiting time.

Hotel bookings with half-board include dinner, which is usually a fixed menu with or without a choice of dishes. In some hotels, you may take your half-board meal at lunchtime.

Health and safety
Simpson Travel is committed to raising the standards of health and safety throughout all our destinations. Our guests’ safety and wellbeing is of the highest importance to us. However, please note that since many of our properties are private homes, it is not always possible to meet the same exacting standards as in the UK. In your accommodation we will provide any necessary health and safety information. We ask you to familiarise yourself with this information and the property on arrival, particularly when travelling with children, and to raise any concerns with your local representative.

In some properties a baby monitor has been provided and to the best of our knowledge it is operating correctly but it is vital that you check regularly that the device is operating to your satisfaction. We strongly advise against relying on the baby monitor in case of malfunction. Simpson Travel cannot be held liable for any malfunction of the baby monitor and the use of the device is entirely at your own risk.

Internet access and wifi
Internet access and wifi is available when stated in the relevant accommodation description details. Please note there may be restrictions with the availability and speed of the service transmitted by the local provider and technical issues may cause temporary withdrawal of internet facilities. We are unable to accept responsibility for any down time or consequences of using this service and refund/compensation cannot be offered due to circumstances beyond our control such as adverse weather conditions.

Linen and laundry
Bed and bathroom linen is provided weekly. For your convenience some of our properties have a washing machine.

Noise and building works
Traffic, farm work, roadwork, animals and other sounds form part of everyday life, however, what constitutes ‘noise’ to one person may not be a problem for another. Please let us know if you have any special needs regarding this. Occasionally, building work is unavoidable as we do not control such work and may not know about it in advance. Whenever possible, we will notify you of any work that we believe may affect your holiday.

Only guests named on your invoice are entitled to occupy the accommodation.

Satellite television
We cannot guarantee that a full selection of satellite channels will be available. Channels in English may be very limited and these are often only CNN or BBC World.

Seasonal facilities
Some facilities are subject to weather conditions and the general season, for example swimming pools, restaurant terraces and courtyards, pool bars, local restaurants, and they may be limited or unavailable at the beginning or end of the season. Please do not hesitate to check with us, should a particular facility be a necessity to you.

Swimming pools
Swimming pool details are given on our website. Pool dimensions are approximate only and, unless specified otherwise, pools are freshwater and unheated. Dates when pools are operational are subject to the prevailing weather conditions at the time of opening and closing and we cannot be held responsible if poor weather means the pool is opened later, or is closed earlier in the season.

Upon arrival at your accommodation, we kindly ask you to acquaint yourselves with the pool’s safety and hygiene rules. All our pools in Corsica and mainland France comply with French law and are fitted with one of the following forms of security: fence, alarm or cover. Please check the property details page for the specific security measure that applies to your selected property. Some pools are ‘infinity pools’ which have an exposed pool edge with an unprotected drop. This maximises views and is an attractive feature of the pool. We recommend that you do not sit, lean or walk on the unprotected edge. Children must be supervised at all times.

Pool heating is a service that can be provided on a weekly basis in select properties. The cost varies according to size of pool from £100 to £200 per week. As a general rule pool heating will only bring the pool temperature up by approximately 10 degrees higher than the night time temperature. As such in early or late season you may still consider the pool temperature to be too cold despite heating. We regret that should this be the case Simpson Travel, our local agents and owners cannot refund monies paid for this facility.

Villa owners
Whilst the owners or staff of some properties may live on site and tend to the grounds, they are aware that you value your privacy, and will do their best not to intrude. We do ask you, however, to allow them reasonable access to the property so that they can maintain the grounds and keep them in good order.

Welcome Pack
We offer a welcome pack in all our self-catering accommodation consisting of a small selection of staple items and local produce. This usually includes the following complimentary items: coffee, tea bags, milk, bottled water, fruit juice, bread, wine, local beer, pasta, pasta sauce, regional biscuits, savoury snacks, paté, washing powder, washing-up liquid, dishwasher tablets, washing-up sponge, salt and pepper, sugar, vegetable or olive oil, vinegar, mixed herbs and toilet paper.

Our choice of Corsican properties is as diverse as the island itself, ranging from simple seaside charm to genuine luxury and style. Much of our portfolio is privately owned, and price alone is therefore not a universal guide.

We contract all our accommodation in person, and each property has its individual appeal. To help you make the right choice based on your own priorities, we have devised a simple grading guide to be considered in conjunction with each individual property description, awarding up to a maximum of five stars for the below categories.

Grading Criteria:

Position, view, serenity, privacy

Space, style, furnishings and interiors

Property enhancements

Proximity to beach, restaurant and shops

For further clarification on Facilities, please view the 'Details' tab for each property or speak to one of our experienced sales consultants.
