Corfu’s north eastern coastline is one of the most enduringly lovely in the whole of Greece, little changed since Gerald Durrell first wrote about his family holidays. Gleaming, white-pebble coves shelter sleek super-yachts, discreetly opulent villas dot the hillsides and steep, olive-clad slopes plunge into a sea so blue that it defines all others. Our favourite place here is Agios Stephanos, without question one of the most sought-after villages in Corfu, and an idyllic place to rediscover the simple pleasures in life. Days can be whiled away here and at nearby beautiful Kerasia Beach, or better still, puttering along the coast in a small motor boat discovering tiny deserted bays for a delightful private picnic or swim.
Set in the hills behind Agios Stephanos, commanding sweeping views as far as Albania, is Leonora’s House. The villa is immaculate, with three, sea-view bedrooms and a spacious living room complete with fireplace for the occasional cool evening in early or late season. Outside there is a large private pool, a barbecue and a delightful trellised pergola; dine here in your own peaceful haven, or meander down the steep driveway and track to the village with its pebble beach and handful of picturesque waterfront bars and tavernas.

Villa pool and views are excellent. 10 minute walk to Agios is fine although tougher on way back! We loved Agios Stephanos. We were not brave enough to try and drive the cars to the top as found the drive too steep. Air conditioning to be added in the living room would be a game changer as too hot downstairs. Jackie Maude, our rep was great. Friendly and extremely helpful.
Nestled in the breathtaking embrace of San Stefanos bay, our stay at this villa was nothing short of a dream. Leonora’s villa is stunningly beautiful, with every detail thoughtfully designed to complement the breathtaking views. We just loved waking up to our breakfasts overlooking the spectacular scene of the bay Albania in the backdrop. It must be one of the best views to wake up to. Every day, we enjoyed perfect boat trips on the crystal-clear waters. Leonora and Dinos at San Stefanos boats really looked after us during the trip - their boats are always exceptional and they are so kind. This stretch of Corfu is a place where you feel like you create a second family. This Corfu villa exceeded our expectations and provided an unforgettable experience. It truly is a gem. We look forward to returning to Corfu with Simpson in August.
Extremely well positioned villa with excellent views over San Stefano, yet an easy stroll to the waterfront where we enjoyed fantastic seafood and Corfiot specialities at the friendly, hospitable local tavernas (though it was a longer walk back up the hillside and steep but well-lit driveway). Avlaki beach is a short and easy drive providing further restaurant options. The Simpson concierge was extremely helpful providing information and local insights on beaches and other places to visit such as Old Perithia as well as wine and olive oil tasting trips. The villa information book also provided a stack of useful information of things to do when the weather was not so idyllic. Simpson ensures their villas are well cared for - we appreciated the mid-week bed linen change and also multiple cleaning visits during the week and the regular pool cleaning. We hope to return before too long!
We loved the fact that Leonora's House is beautifully positioned, overlooking San Stefano bay and a short walk to 3 lovely tavernas. Thanks to Jackie's recommendation we also went to Kerasia beach and taverna on our first day - fantastic, cool clear waters and super taverna lunch. We hope to return before too long!
Indebted to Jackie, Simpson Travel and Leonora. Perhaps we didn’t sit still long enough, but when we did the villa was wonderful and relaxing. We walked the coastal path to Avlaki beach, ate at Cavo Barbero – loved it. Eucalyptus in Agios Stefanos was excellent. Went to Agni, walked from there to Kalami and Kouloura – loved the bay next to Agni and very quiet. Day trip to Paxos and Anti Paxos – and so many more trips. George’s water taxi – 9:45 to Corfu Town, visit the market, lovely area and back by 2:30pm.
The villa is incredible – clean and well maintained – we loved the outside too! Jackie was super helpful. We had a great week.
Loved the location of Leonora’s House. Easy walking access to San Stefanos and able to get water taxis to Corfu Town and Nissaki. The villa itself is very clean and comfortable. It’s not the most modern, but the comfort, quality and location more than make up for that. The position of the pool and terrace is wonderful. We very much enjoyed ourselves. Jackie was super helpful and we loved the eateries and bars in San Stefanos, it’s a very welcoming place. Jackie always booked us great tables with wonderful views. Would highly recommend!
Thank you to Leonora and Jackie for a fantastic week in this beautiful villa. The views are just amazing and breakfast every day looking out from the terrace has been a tonic. We have had two blissful weeks with Simpson Travel exploring the beaches of Corfu and eating like kings. Both Jo at Bella Mare and Jackie have been extremely welcoming and helpful. We are leaving feeling energised and happy. Until next time. Thank you.
On our first visit to Corfu we think we hit the jackpot by staying at Leonora’s House. The views are amazing. We spent many hours at the house by the pool relaxing.
Sadly, we did not make it to The Rou Estate because of the wild fires, however, Simpson Travel looked after us so well during a stressful time and we ended up at Leonora’s House – this absolutely stunning villa. We love, love, love it! We have had such a happy week, exploring, swimming in the aquamarine waters of Kerasia and eating the best food at Eucalyptus. We look forward to our next visit.
Lovely to be back in Agios Stephanos once again... it never disappoints! Leonora's House is the perfect place to relax, with everything we need - plus that amazing view. Thank you Jackie for booking restaurants etc. We will look forward to seeing you next year!
What a fantastic villa and location! Fantastic week - perfect accommodation and pool. The views are unforgettable. Jackie was INCREDIBLY helpful in booking meals/boat trips/boats to and from restaurants. She was also amazing during a 'little' medical emergency (all ended well!) and we are very thankful for her help. We hope to be back.
The trip was amazing! We enjoyed relaxing here and discovering new restaurants. We especially enjoyed the pool and when at night we cuddled up to watch something. The food was fantastic and the shops were perfect. Everyone will enjoy this villa. We had a brilliant time in Greece, I hope we come back here.
We enjoyed the house and pool very much. The setting was beautiful and interesting, especially all the different plants. The views are magnificent and a joy to look at while sunbathing.
We had a wonderful week as a family staying at Leonora's House. The location is wonderful - peaceful and picturesque, with beautiful views of the bay over to Albania. The villa is perfectly comfortable, well equipped and suited our family of 2 adults and 3 children well. The driveway is an adventure but worth it for the view at the top!
My family and I had a great time at the villa. Pool was fantastic. We had a great holiday and would would come back.
Lovely house with great views. Really enjoyed the boat hire and going to isolated bays. Favourite restaurant was ‘Kalyves’, down the hill. Thanks to everyone.
Thank you for a fab two weeks in the sun in gorgeous Agios Stephanos! We have definitely made the most of our much-needed break and have loved every moment in this lovely house with its great view. Everyone has been so friendly and helpful. We’ll be back.
As ever the journey is made altogether easier with the fantastic Simpson team at the airport, port and villa. Leonora’s House was comfortable, spacious and with a view over Agios Stephanos to make your eyes water. Whilst this year it was quieter everywhere, it was safe and easy to travel around during Covid-19.
A fabulous week in this lovely villa – so tranquil, calm and inspirational. We’ll be back.
This was our fifth year visiting Corfu and once again we have absolutely loved our time here. It is has been so much fun, the outside is brilliant, we love the pool – the view is amazing and the fortress is great! We have really enjoyed going to Kerasia beach; it is beautiful and also quite quiet. Also, we really loved taking a boat out from Stan Stefano boats. Another great experience was getting a water taxi to Agni kindly organised by Jackie. The journey was so much fun and the food in the restaurant was delicious. It was also interesting going to the White House in Kalami as it is next to the home of Gerald Durrell’s brother. We have absolutely loved our stay here.
We had fun in the pool.
Our two week stay has been extremely enjoyable. The local restaurants are all very high quality. My personal highlight however was of course going to Aqualand!
We have had a wonderful week. The view is magnificent from a very comfortable villa. As ever the Simpson service has been excellent.
We have had a wonderful week. Thank you Jackie for all your helpful suggestions.
Villa very well equipped – stunning views. Easy walk down to tavernas but hard work coming home! Could have done with a second week but nevertheless a relaxing break.
Our second visit and just as enjoyable as 2016! Thanks to Jackie for looking after us so well, will be back in a couple of years!
We had a brilliant and relaxing week at Leonora’s House. Thanks to Jackie for her help and advice – it really made our week easy and stressful.
We loved the views from Leonora’s House and the outside space. Chilling by the pool and enjoying views was great. It was our first visit to Corfu and we were very pleasantly surprised. We didn’t drive at all and it was perfect. Walking into the village was safe and the perfect distance. Two of our children pottered down themselves for coffee and a takeaway one night. Boat hire is a must – three days was ideal to explore up and down the coast. Watersports in Nissaki – Ringo rides and parascending amused the teenagers. All in all, a wonderful relaxing week.
We had a lovely relaxing time at Leonora’s House, enjoying the pool and the amazing views. Jackie, the Simpson Travel representative, was fabulous at looking after us, booking tables at local tavernas and organising taxis. We enjoyed getting the water taxi to Agni Bay. We loved the wildlife and the figs.
Leonora’s House has the most amazing view you have ever seen. There are lots of things to do and see. Kalami is just 7 minutes away and has paddle boarding – it is really fun. Hire a boat and have lunch at Agni – if you are lucky, you will see dolphins! Go into Corfu town to eat and buy a souvenir or two and visit Aqualand, it is great – the best water park we have ever been to.
We had a fantastic week at Leonora’s House following on from an excellent week at Loggos View House in Paxos. Although we have been to Greece many times over the years, this was our first visit to Corfu and we enjoyed it. The old part of Corfu town is well worth a visit – lots of interesting shops, beautiful architecture and interesting churches and museums. In particular, the church of Agios Spyridonas (St. Spyridon) is stunning. Agios Stephanos itself is a beautiful cove and village. Our top tip is to visit Kerasia Beach that is just around the corner – you can walk or drive there and the taverna there is very atmospheric. Agni is enjoyable with its water taxi arrangement from Agios Stephanos that works well and is fun. The bars in the village are great, especially for a sundowner and service is exceptional.
We last visited this North Eastern part of Corfu 15 years ago and it was a relief to discover that aside from some more villas being built along the coast, it is still as scenic and beautiful. The house’s position and views are just superb. We did a lot of self-catering and found the fresh fish shop in Kassiopi to be of a high standard. Nikos supermarket and the small shops in San Stephanos are all good for everyday supplies. Like a lot of visitors, we hired a small boat and went up and down the coast.
A wonderful week – Leonora’s House is a wonderful villa, the weather was glorious and Jackie, the local representative, was helpful and thoughtful. It was our first visit to Corfu and we are hoping it won’t be our last. Swimming from the boat in the sheltered coves was delightful and a highlight, followed closely by lunch at Agni taverna. All the lazy days in and out of the villa pool and pottering to the shops and back, were similarly blissful.
Thanks Jackie for a sublime, relaxing stay. Fantastic terrace and views. Yet again Simpson Travel has come up trumps!
Had a really wonderful break here. The position of the villa is superb and we never tired of looking at the view of the bay. The food in all the tavernas has been delicious. The Simpson Travel staff have been excellent and Jackie has been fantastic.
Our third time in Agios Stephanos. It is a perfect place to stay. Leonora's House is the best villa we have ever stayed in –t has everything. The pool and outdoor area are absolutely beautiful and again, the view here is amazing. Jackie has been a great help booking tables for us, etc. A fantastic holiday and an amazing villa.
As a family this was our third trip to Corfu and Agios Stephanos and once again we had a fantastic week. This was our fist time using Simpson Travel and we have been very impressed. The villa is immaculate, we loved the design and each room/shared space is so tasteful. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need and is very spacious. We are likely to come back to Corfu again soon and would definitely come back to this villa – it's been a wonderful experience and thank you Simpson Travel for making it feel extra special. We don't want to leave!
Leonora's House; ideal location, unbeatable views, fantastic pool, the most restful holiday imaginable. Walkable to the village and tavernas, friendly and welcoming locals –what more could you want for a spring break? Made magical as we were welcomed home each evening by a million fireflies twinkling under the olive trees.
This was our third trip with Simpson Travel. This time it was to a villa in Corfu. Leonora's House was stunningly situated. The villa itself was beautiful and very well-equipped. Jackie, our rep, was exceptional and as always was informative yet not in your space all the time. The town in which the villa was located was idyllic. All in all this was another really amazing holiday with Simpson Travel.
