The location was excellent, quiet and the ideal place to chill out. The beach, with restaurant, bar and shaded sun beds, was an easy 5-minute walk. The reps at both the departing and arrival airports made the transit a doddle.
Mr Gough – September 2019
Second visit to A Casetta, equally as good as the first. Super relaxing – at the beaches most days, including Palombaggia, La Tonarra and the beach down the road (nice place for a relaxing cocktail). Visited Porto Vecchio and Bonifacio towns. Loved the local Corsican wines and cheeses. The butchers and boulangerie at the Spar on the way to Porto Vecchio were great for everything we needed, loved it all!
John & Victoria – June 2019
We have enjoyed our stay in Corsica. We had fun swimming early morning and late afternoon (Maora Beach) to avoid the heat. It has been a time near the summer solstice and if you are up early enough you can see the sun rising over the sea beyond the peninsula. We have also enjoyed the beach at Santa Giulia which has a good bar/restaurant with friendly staff. The local supermarkets, Spar and Leclerc are great and we bought fresh fish for the barbecue. Overall a refreshing week.
Peter & Anny – June 2019
We hope that you enjoy your stay in this villa as much as we have. Joelle is a gem and we had an excellent lunch at Le Lodge in Porto Vecchio.
Simpson Traveller – May 2019
The 40-45 mph winds could not spoil a very good, relaxing week; with dry weather and temperatures well above what was predicted. The views are terrific and change according to the light, with an impressive full harvest moon, and due to less light pollution, so many stars to see.
The Clarks – September 2018
We had a lovely week at A Casetta. There are some lovely views of the bay and the facilities in the villa are very good. The WiFi does work and is very good! The local beach (5 minutes’ walk) is good and the sea lovely to swim in. The restaurant is excellent although expensive.
Robert & Sue – August 2018
We have had a lovely week at A Casetta – the view is wonderful. Enjoyed visiting Bonifacio and the area’s stunning beaches – Palombaggia, Rondinara and our favourite Grande Sperone. Both Palombaggia and Rondinara have excellent beach restaurants but get very busy. Best to book a table when you arrive at the beach.
Paul & Paula – June 2018
Fantastic, relaxing time at A Casetta. Visited numerous beaches including Pinarello and Palombaggia which were fabulous but did enjoy the local beach down the road equally. Early morning swims a delight. Had a trip to Zonza and enjoyed eating wild boar, and then saw some on the mountain journey home. Didn’t want to vacate and could easily have stayed another week.
John & Victoria – June 2018
Very enjoyable stay at A Cassetta. Bonifacio is fascinating. The beach we liked best was Plage de Canetu. Has limited amount of ‘off road’ to get to, once through the water at the bottom, you can park up literally on the beach – beautiful. Restaurants we recommend are: Zonza – L’Auberge du Sanglier (wild boar a must), near Figari – L’Anton-PA, rustic food, lovely people.
Dave & Margaret – June 2018
All in all, a first-rate holiday with excellent weather.
John & Barry – May 2018
What a wonderful week we have had at peaceful A Casetta on our first visit to the beautiful island of Corsica. We hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did. Don't forget to make time just to relax on the terrace and enjoy the beautiful view and the tranquillity.
Kath & Colin – August 2017
We have had a great week here in this beautiful place. Such wonderful views every day, and the weather has been quite hot enough. It has also been relatively quiet out and about, which has been very welcome. Great trips to Bonifacio, the mountains and some of the historic sites. Otherwise relaxing on the terrace and down at the beach. A perfect honeymoon! We look forward to returning to Corsica.
Mr & Mrs Lovell – May 2017
Everything that Simpson Travel did was excellent. Sam, the rep, was very good. Travel arrangements excellent. The car was perfect for our location – whoever arranged the car must have knowledge of the track conditions as the car came with off-road capability. It's this attention to detail that has impressed us.
Mr Liddell – September 2016
Really impressed with your representative, Samantha, who advised us on how to get the best from our first visit to Corsica.
Mr Addis – July 2016
A lovely cottage for a peaceful holiday in Southern Corsica. Description and pictures on website are very accurate – the views really are that good – we never tired of sitting on the terrace just drinking it all in. Excellent location, 10 minutes from Bonifacio and within easy reach of lots of beaches and also the mountains if you wanted to explore a bit. Maora beach is only a very short walk from the cottage and we enjoyed swims before breakfast most days. If we go back to Corsica ,we would look to stay here again.
Mr Griffiths – June 2016
Yet again we had a lovely holiday through Simpson Travel. We will start thinking about next year soon and Simpson will be at the top of our list.
Mr Burgess – July 2015
Overall we had a great experience. Beautiful location, convenient accommodation, very clean and well fitted. And a very thoughtful welcome pack for first breakfast and lunch!
Ms Corsico – August 2015
Very secluded villa. Perfect for anyone who wants a good break away from it all.
Mr Petch – September 2013
Had a great holiday. The accommodation has been terrific – very likely to return in the future!
Mr Ashby – July 2013
Very well organised journey. The local reps in Corsica were very experienced and knowledgeable.
Mrs Nayler – May 2013
We have had a very relaxing week, really enjoying the villa and the view. The beach is delightful and sea good for swimming. We enjoyed several barbecues and local wines and cheeses. Visited Porto Vecchio and Bonifacio. Many thanks to you, Joan, for all your help. Full moon rose over the mountains – reflecting on the water and giving a wonderful setting for our last evening barbecue.
Mr & Mrs Steward – September 2012
Rock pools at Taglio Rosso are worth a trip – this is a 10-15 minute drive on an unmade road, but it is worth it. Not so sure about the Solenzara/Zonza trip – a lot of time in the car. Many thanks.
Mr & Mrs Teare – September 2012
More well-satisfied customers who enjoyed the villa immensely. All we could have wished for in a break from reality. Unmissable highlights include swimming in river rock pools by the D268 at Solenzara (don’t stop at the first area, better further up). Thank you Simpson Travel. Thank you Joan.
Ms Parson – August 2012
We have had a fantastic week. Pinarello is our favourite local beach but Sandta Guilia and Palombaggia are still our favourite beaches after three visits to Corsica. Beware of the traffic – we have been going out at 9-ish or after lunch about 2-ish and that has been fine. Think we have been here for one of the busiest weeks so it may be fine from here on in but booking restaurants in advance is also a must! If you do go to Palombaggia don’t take the coast road, take the turning on the left before Spar and the Bocca dell’Oro turning. It’s signposted for a nightclub. At the end of a very windy road turn left and then immediately right and park on the road if you can or in one of the restaurant car parks (varying €10 or €30 when you get back). Enjoy the relaxing villa! P.S. Boulangerie every day for breakfast treats was yummy!
Mr & Mrs Walsh – August 2012
Our choice of Corsican properties is as diverse as the island itself, ranging from simple seaside charm to genuine luxury and style. Much of our portfolio is privately owned, and price alone is therefore not a universal guide. We contract all our accommodation in person, and each property has its individual appeal. To help you make the right choice based on your own priorities, we have devised a simple grading guide to be considered in conjunction with each individual property description, awarding up to a maximum of five stars for the below categories.
* For further clarification on Facilities and Amenities, please view the 'Details' tab for each property or speak to one of our experienced sales consultants.
Just across the water from Sardinia, history takes a cosmopolitan turn in the winding streets, imposing citadels and elegant marinas of Bonifacio and Porto Vecchio. A luxury holiday here comes with no shortage of style, and plenty of restaurants, cafés, boutiques and museums. Not far away, you'll also find the family-friendly beaches of Pinarello and pine-shaded Palombaggia, as well as the white sands of Santa Giulia and chic St Cyprien.
