Everything you need to know about travelling to Mallorca in 2021…
Mallorca is currently categorised as an Amber destination; fully vaccinated adults and children under 18 are not required to quarantine on return to the UK. All other passengers are required to quarantine at home for 10 days on their return to the UK (or 5 days under the Test to Release Scheme). Please see below for testing requirements.
Passenger Locator Forms for entry
At least 24 hours before travelling to Mallorca, all passengers must complete a Passenger Locator Form (PLF) online. If required to give details of an address overseas, your villa name should be sufficient. Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation email acknowledging receipt and a unique QR (quick response) code to show on arrival in Mallorca. This information should be downloaded onto a smart-device (printed copies are not accepted). Please complete your PLF by visiting https://spth.gob.es
Testing/Vaccination requirements for entry
Passengers travelling to Mallorca require proof of full vaccination against Covid-19 completed >14 days before travel, or a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours of arrival. Children under 12 years old do not require proof of a negative test or vaccination.
Will I be tested for Covid-19 at the airport?
Temperature and visual checks will be carried out but specific testing for Covid-19 is not required unless you display symptoms.
Will temperature checks be carried out during my stay?
Temperature checks are not routinely carried out before entering shops, restaurants and bars in Mallorca.
Should I wear a face mask?
Face masks are mandatory on arrival at the airport for everyone aged six and over (unless indicated otherwise by a medical professional) and in all public spaces indoors. A fine of €100 may be incurred for failure to comply.
Beaches in Mallorca are all open as usual, and sunbeds (where available) are laid out in accordance with social distancing guidelines. A distance of 4 square metres is required between groups.
Restaurants are open as usual and tables are spaced in accordance with social distancing guidelines.
Bars are open as usual with customers required to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
Shops are open as usual, with numbers limited to allow compliance with social distancing guidelines. Masks are mandatory and hand sanitiser is provided.
Boats, experiences and activities
Boat trips will be running as usual in Mallorca this summer, in accordance with social distancing guidelines.
Will there be any changes at the villa or hotel?
Please check your property details carefully on our website to see if any changes have been implemented for 2021. All our hygiene and enhanced cleaning measures are detailed on our Simpson Safe hub page.
What should I do if a member of my party is unwell or develops symptoms of Covid-19?
As always, your local Simpson Concierge has everything in place to assist you and should be your first port of call. They can arrange rapid testing, access to medical care if required, and are fully briefed on all procedures in the event that a member of your party tests positive for Covid-19.
Returning to the UK
Within 48 hours of travelling back, all passengers must complete a form giving journey and contact details, ready to present at the UK border. This may be printed, or downloaded onto a smart device and can be found at https://www.gov.uk/provide-journey-contact-details-before-travel-uk
All passengers aged 11 and over returning to the UK must show proof of a negative Covid-test taken less than 72 hours prior to their arrival. From 4 October 2021 fully vaccinated travellers returning to England will be exempt from this requirement.
Fully vaccinated adults and children under 18 returning to the UK from Mallorca are not required to quarantine*. All passengers aged 5 and over returning from Mallorca must take a test on day 2 after arriving in the UK.
Unvaccinated adults returning from countries on the Amber List must quarantine at home for 10 days (or 5 days with Test to Release) and take tests on day 2 and day 8 after arriving in the UK. Under the government's Test to Release scheme, proof of a negative test taken on day 5 after returning to the UK shortens the requirement to quarantine from 10 days to 5 days.
*A minimum of 14 days are required between date of final vaccination and travel.
We will be offering favourable rates for testing with three of the government’s approved suppliers. Qured and C19 offer Covid-19 antigen and PCR tests designed specifically for international travel and provide kits which remove the need to source a testing facility overseas before your return to the UK. We are also able to provide Simpson clients with a discounted rate for Randox tests.
For information on approved Covid-testing please visit www.gov.uk/testing. Simpson Travel are not liable for any testing costs associated with travel to or from your chosen destination.
