Everything you need to know about travelling to Corsica in 2021…

Restrictions
The FCDO is currently advising against all but essential travel to Corsica. The island is currently categorised as an Amber destination, meaning all passengers are required to quarantine at home for 10 days on their return to the UK (or 5 days under the Test to Release Scheme).

Entry requirements
Adults travelling to Corsica from the UK without proof of full vaccination are currently required to quarantine for 7 days at a named address. At least 24 hours before travelling, all passengers must complete a Passenger Locator Form (PLF) online. If required to give details of an address overseas, your villa name and region should be sufficient. Please complete your PLF by clicking here. Passengers will also be asked to complete a questionnaire before boarding their return flight to the UK. This will be supplied by the check-in staff at the airport.

Testing/Vaccination requirements for entry
For leisure travel, adults entering Corsica from the UK are required to provide proof that they have been fully vaccinated. All travellers aged 11 or over arriving in Corsica must also produce proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of travelling, or a negative Lateral Flow test taken within 48 hours of travelling.

Testing/Vaccination requirements to leave
All travellers
aged 11 or over leaving Corsica are required to produce proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of travelling.

Will I be tested for Covid-19 at the airport?
Only if you are displaying symptoms.

Will temperature checks be carried out during my stay?
Temperature scanners are operational at all airports but temperature checks are not routinely carried out before entering shops, restaurants and bars in Corsica.

Should I wear a face mask?
Blue surgical-style disposable face masks are mandatory on flights to and from Corsica for everyone aged 11 and over (unless indicated otherwise by a medical professional). They are also required at the airport, when entering bars and restaurants, for taxi transfers, and in all public spaces.

Beaches
Beaches in Corsica are all open as usual and sunbeds (where available) are laid out in accordance with social distancing guidelines. Picnics are not currently allowed on beaches in Corsica.

Restaurants
Restaurants are open as usual and tables are spaced in accordance with social distancing guidelines.

Bars
Bars are open as usual with customers expected to adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Shops
Shops are open as usual and masks are required.

Boats, experiences and activities
Boat trips are running as usual in Corsica this summer, with social distancing implemented on the jetty when waiting to board. Some other pre-bookable activities and experiences may carry limitations for 2021; your Simpson Concierge will be able to advise.

Will there be any changes at the villa or hotel?
Please check your property details carefully on our website to see if any changes have been implemented for 2021. All our hygiene and enhanced cleaning measures are detailed on our Simpson Safe hub page.

What should I do if a member of my party is unwell or develops symptoms of Covid-19?
As always, your local Simpson Concierge has everything in place to assist you and should be your first port of call. They can arrange rapid testing, access to medical care if required, and are fully briefed on all procedures in the event that a member of your party tests positive for Covid-19.

Returning to the UK
Within 48 hours of travelling back, all passengers must complete a form giving journey and contact details, ready to present at the UK border. This may be printed, or downloaded onto a smart device and can be found at https://www.gov.uk/provide-journey-contact-details-before-travel-uk

Children under 11 do not require a Covid test prior to returning to the UK.

All passengers aged 11 and over returning to the UK must show proof of a negative Covid-test taken less than 72 hours prior to their arrival.

Passengers aged 5 and over returning from countries on the Green List must take a PCR test on day 2 after arriving in the UK.

Passengers aged 5 and over returning from countries on the Amber List must take PCR tests on day 2 and day 8 after arriving in the UK. Under the government's 'Test to Release' scheme, proof of a negative test taken on day 5 after returning to the UK  shortens the requirement to quarantine from 10 days to 5 days.

We will be offering favourable rates for testing with three of the government’s approved suppliers. Qured offer Covid-19 antigen and PCR tests designed specifically for international travel and provide kits which remove the need to source a testing facility overseas before your return to the UK. We are also able to provide Simpson clients with a discounted rate for Chronomics tests and Randox tests.

For information on approved Covid-testing please visit www.gov.uk/testing. Simpson Travel are not liable for any testing costs associated with travel to or from your chosen destination.
