Write your way to holiday
Ever dreamed of being a travel writer? Tell us about a place you visited on your Simpson Travel holiday and you could to win a holiday for two at Masseria Le Torri, our new Simpson Hotel in Puglia.
From the eloquent reviews and comments in our guest books, it’s clear that Simpson Travellers enjoy sharing their tips and experiences with others, so if you’d like to put your travel writing talents out to a wider audience, here’s your opportunity.
WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO DO?
We’re inviting you to write about a place you visited on a Simpson Travel holiday. It could be a village, a beach or a museum perhaps, or maybe you could share your impressions of a Turkish hamam or a Greek festival or even a standout restaurant where the food was as incredible as the view. Chris Leadbeater, a former British Travel Writer of the Year, has kindly agreed to judge the competition.
You need to be over 18 to enter, and you must write about one of our destinations in no more than 250 words, but apart from that, feel free to get as creative as you wish.
THE PRIZE
A 2019 holiday for two, staying at Masseria Le Torri, including flights and car hire. The winning entry will appear in next year’s On Travel magazine, as well as on our website and social media, together with entries from our runners-up.
ABOUT OUR JUDGE
Chris Leadbeater is an award-winning journalist and a former British Travel Writer of the Year who has been penning features about his experiences on the road for 15 years. He has visited six continents and 84 countries (and counting).
COMPETITION DETAILS
- Entries must be 100 to 250 words long.
- Closing date is 30 September 2018.
- Only one entry per person.

The competition is open to all UK residents with a permanent UK address, except employees or retirees of Simpson Travel and their subsidiaries, their families or anyone connected with the prize draw. Simpson Travel reserves the right to alter the prize offered, provided the alternative prize is of an equivalent value. The judge’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
The winner will be notified within seven days of the judging taking place. The holiday for two to Masseria Le Torri, staying in the Gardenia Suite, can be taken on any departure date shown on the Simpson Travel website in May, June, September or October 2019 (excluding school holidays). It includes car hire and return flights from London Gatwick. Entries may be published or shared in print or online for marketing purposes.
