Yaz Evi is translated as ‘The Summer House’. In times gone by people living by the coast would retire to the hills to escape the summer heat and in July and August Islamlar offers cooler temperatures to those on the coast below. Yaz Evi mixes the contemporary style of chic Kalkan with the traditional elements of rural Turkey – the result is an intoxicating blend of flair and panache.
Walking trails along the Lycian Way, wonderful beaches and a visit to the local restaurants await.

What a fabulous spot! Our second time to Turkey but a first to Islamlar/Kalkan. Zeze has been a star booking restaurants and arranging pick-ups and drop-offs so we didn’t have to drive. Will be sad to leave this place but hope to be back one day.
We had an amazing week – my first time to Turkey and it really impressed – The Turquoise Coast really lives up to its name. Perfect weather and the villa is just stunning. Had to force ourselves out and take in some of the local sights and culture. Zeze is brilliant – always on hand to offer suggestions, etc. – brilliant!
Unfortunately we are at the end of a perfect holiday. The villa, people, weather, food and the places have been a joy to experience. All the restaurants in Islamlar are good. Breakfast in the mountains is well worth a visit. Thanks to Zeze who has looked after us very well, nothing was too much. Booked again for next year! Can’t wait!
Wonderful villa situated in the traditional village of Islamlar. Walking distance to restaurants and a local shop, and only 10 minutes drive into Kalkan. Villa had everything we needed with a fabulous pool and view.
Had a fantastic week at Yaz Evi. My first time to Turkey and “The Turquoise Coast” lived up to its name. Incredible location, lovely people, perfect weather, stunning villa and location, fabulous local restaurants…we had to tear ourselves away from the villa to go and explore the area. Zeze was really helpful in providing any info we needed. If flight times allow, do take advantage of being able to use the facilities at The Regency Hotel on your last day after having checked out of the villa. It’s amazing to use the pool and have some of the lovely food in the restaurant. So in summary, having had a great week, we didn’t manage to fit in some of the things on our list so will just have to return in the future!!!
Yaz Evi is a lovely well-equipped and comfortable villa, especially the beds (very important) and within walking distance of the friendly village of Islamlar. We loved everything about this holiday! So much so, we’ve booked the same for next year!
We cannot praise ZeZe enough for her concierge services! She is amazing , helpful, knowledgeable, responsive and a genius at organising. So fabulous to have local cultural knowledge. She is an absolute gem!
First stay in Turkey and really enjoyed the peace and tranquillity of Yaz Evi. Thank you to Zeze for her prompt replies to any queries we had and also to both our cleaner and pool boy for helping to keep the place clean. We mostly ate in for our meals – all our breakfasts and lunches just enjoying the view.

We stayed for 2 weeks at Yaz Evi in Islamlar. It is an oasis of peace, surrounded by majestic mountains, with a garden filled with roses and fruit trees. We walked down to the village most days to collect freshly cooked bread, honey and yogurt, passing by climbing roses, orange blossom and other floral scents which filled the air. Everyone was friendly, our cleaner and concierge exceptional and even the local dogs and cats wanted to adopt us. The drive up to the villa became easier with time and waking up to see the sea every day was like a tonic. The only drawback is leaving!
We have really enjoyed these 7 days in Islamlar. Everyone is very helpful. Zeze is ready to help at all times, as are all Simpson staff.
A beautiful place, spacious, modern, peaceful, truly relaxing. A wonderful week and I am sure we will come back. Many thanks to the marvellous Zeze who provided so much help with arrangements, and to Fevkis the caretaker and the lovely cleaner.
What an amazing relaxing week here in Yaz Evi. We have had great weather despite the clouds gathering on arrival, and have enjoyed chilling by the lovely pool surrounded by the sounds of nature. Zeze the Simpsons concierge was amazing - helped with queries and bookings and was so helpful when someone bumped the car. Very impressed with Simpson Travel.

Wow, what a wonderful peaceful place. The pool is outstanding as is the view. Even in these Covid-19 times, a fantastic holiday. 2021 already reserved, need I say more.
Having stayed at The Korsan Suites in Kalkan several times we opted for a quieter stay in the Yaz Evi villa situated in the mountains above Kalkan in the village of Islamlar. Here we enjoyed the best of both worlds with more traditional village restaurants serving fresh trout from the trout farms and with stunning views down towards Kalkan and then a short taxi ride took us into Kalkan for a more lively night out in the many bars and restaurants. With Yaz Evi as a base and a car we were able to strike out and see much more of the local mountain countryside including a trip to the Likya Vineyard and a drive along the coast to Kaş, which were definitely worthwhile. The Simpson concierge, Zeze, could not have been more helpful. Any little problems were rapidly resolved and questions answered, which all made for a wonderful trip in what has been a year full of turmoil and upheaval. We were lucky to get away and lucky to find this little haven in the hills.
A lovely villa and we very much enjoyed this area round Islamlar. Kirsti was helpful and gave us some good tips. The breakfast at Belmuar Cinaralti is amazing! The setting superb and as for the food and service – excellent. Tried two beach clubs – Kalimar for fish/snorkelling also nice to watch the PADI dive there. We also went to Indigo Beach Club for which you have free loungers and parasols. Great to swim and watch the water activities. Loved Islamlar being far less humid than Kalkan and far more authentic. Ate at Koy village restaurant and Bodamya Tepe, both excellent in quality food and lovely people. The views and settings are beautiful. Went to Patara beach sunset – lovely but lots of people unless you walk away from the sunbed area. Ruins amazing and most people don’t stop to see them.
Another wonderful week in Yaz Evi (our third visit) and the beautiful village of Islamlar enjoying the superb cafés and restaurants within the village, but also in Kalkan and Kaş a short drive away. Just wish we'd had a second week!

Yaz Evi is a beautiful, very well appointed villa with superb views. Situated in a traditional Turkish mountain village with excellent local restaurants within walking distance, but also a short drive into Kalkan and Kaş. We had a wonderful, relaxing holiday and are already thinking about returning next year!
Thank you Simpson Travel for a wonderful holiday at Yaz Evi in Islamlar. The villa, pool, location and welcome from Kirsti were all excellent. The village is just the right place for a peaceful holiday with a choice of good restaurants to walk to, but close enough to Kalkan, Kaş and the various historical sites to enjoy trips out in the car when you want a change. We will definitely be using Simpson Travel again for future holidays as the quality of service and standard of accommodation has been excellent.

I broke my wrist three weeks before we were due to travel and Simpson Travel were so kind and accommodating and helped to make the necessary arrangements required to still travel. Our holiday was villa based accommodation and could not be faulted. The rep in Turkey was amazing and provided us with lots of local information. We will not hesitate to travel with Simpson Travel again and are already starting to plan our next holiday with them.
If you are looking for a holiday that is completely relaxing, in the most beautiful surroundings and is accessible to the very cosmopolitan Kalkan, then Yas Evi in Islamlar is most definitely the place to head to! Set in the hills above Kalkan the scenery is breathtaking, the villa is stunning and far better equipped than my own home. The village boasts a good selection of restaurants and a short trip down the hill into Kalkan where the shops, restaurants and bars are of a very high standard. Mamhut, the villa owner, is a complete gentleman and really could not do enough to ensure our stay was a real pleasure. This is the second holiday we have had with Simpson Travel and we cannot fault them, we will definitely be back for more next year!

A pretty mountain village just above Kalkan Bay, Islamlar is a place of bucolic tranquillity and rustic architecture set against the dramatic backdrop of the Taurus Mountains. In the heart of Islamlar you will still find a truly traditional way of life, unchanged throughout the centuries: an old tea house, a bakery where flour is still ground by millstones and shepherds herding their sheep among the olive trees.
Nearby is Islamlar’s even sleepier neighbour, Üzümlü. This traditional village is wonderfully unspoilt – a place where you can fully immerse yourself in the every-day comings and goings of rural Turkey.
But should you wish to experience a more cosmopolitan expression of Turkish hospitality, Kalkan with its beach clubs, vibrant waterfront bars and rooftop restaurants, is just a short drive away, giving you the best of all worlds.
