Why visit South Mallorca?

A natural beauty, from the sheltered sandy cove and dramatic cliffs near Cala Pi to the Mondrago Natural Park, a glorious stretch of protected coastline, South Mallorca maintains its resolutely untamed air. East of Cala Pi, you’ll find one of the island’s best beaches, Es Trenc, with its Caribbean-blue sea, white sands and discreet handful of waterfront bars and restaurants.

Beyond the tranquillity of Cala Pi

A quintessentially relaxing beach holiday may be what you come for, but the experience of authentic Mallorcan life keeps many going back. From the photogenic fishing village of Cala Figuera to medieval Santanyi, around which the remains of pre-historic civilisations still linger, the pace of life is gentle, the welcome warm.

Boats run regularly from the very Spanish Colonia de Sant Jordi with its waterfront promenade and upmarket restaurants, to the National Maritime Park of Cabrera. This rocky archipelago of 19 islands is a safe haven for turtles and whales, as well as rare species of fish and coral hidden away in the underwater caves. And for captivating sunsets, there’s nowhere better than the cliff-top path near the Cap Blanc lighthouse.
