Holidays in Mauritius
We are delighted to present our collection of 2013 Mauritius holidays.
Mauritius
An iconic island paradise surrounded by white sand beaches, jewel-like lagoons and coral reefs, Mauritius is blessed with year round sunshine and exceptional natural beauty. It attracts a varied clientele drawn by the relaxed, safe environment, rich cultural heritage and outstanding sports facilities both on and off the water.
A natural choice for a luxury honeymoon, this island is also a multi-award winning destination, boasting one of the highest rates of returning visitors in the world. Many couples honeymoon here and then return with their families; most of the hotels offer excellent childcare and activities for children of all ages. Visitors are superbly catered for, yet the atmosphere is authentically island, deliberately preserving the multi-faceted cultural and historical influences which make Mauritius such a uniquely rewarding destination.
Island Accommodation: Let us be your guide
With such uniformity of excellence, choosing your accommodation may seem a little daunting at first. Naturally we have personally inspected all of our featured properties, hand-picking each for its particular appeal and suitability. So whether you need a spacious villa or apartment for the whole family or a sumptuous hotel for the honeymoon of a lifetime, you can rely on our informed choice.
On Island with Simpson Travel
One of the founding principles of our company is to offer the very best service at every point of your journey with us. This starts with our detailed knowledge and candid advice when you first contact us about booking, and continues right through to your experience overseas. Such is our commitment to service in resort that we are one of only a handful of UK companies to employ their own ground staff in Mauritius, and of course, our resort experts have personally visited each villa, apartment and hotel.
The Perfect Long-Haul Family Destination
Mauritius is fantastically well set up for a holiday with children. Not content with the magnificent soft sandy beaches and invitingly warm water, many hotels offer comprehensive and highly creative childcare and activities to keep even the clingiest toddler or the grumpiest teen engaged. Our personal favourite is Beachcomber's Paradis, thoroughly tried, tested and approved by three generations of the Simpson family in January 2013. Other good choices include the One&Only Le Saint Geran, the Royal Palm Mini Club and The OurSpace children’s club at Anahita. And there is lots to explore around the island for all ages, from nature reserves to soft adventure thrills such as zip lining, segway touring and quad biking.
Far More than a Beautiful Beach Holiday
Adults are also spoilt for choice when it comes to holiday activities. From a gentle stroll around the local market or temple, to the high adrenalin rush of a wreck or shark cage dive, Mauritius is the ideal beach destination for anyone worried about getting bored just relaxing in the sunshine. Almost every hotel offers complimentary non-motorised water sports, whilst others offer access to world-class golf facilities. Especially recommended are the Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita, with unlimited complimentary golf on the Ernie Els designed course, and the Paradis & Dinarobin Hotel Golf & Spa, with a choice of three championship courses.
Committed to your Total Wellbeing
Mauritius is the perfect spot to recharge batteries exhausted by the grind of daily life, and has a wide range of world-class spa facilities to help restore balance to body and soul. The Givenchy Spa at Le Touessrok is arguably the most exclusive on the island, the tiny Lakaz Charmarel the most romantic and intimate, whilst Shanti Maurice is one of the largest spas in the entire Indian Ocean. Many hotels take a holistic approach to wellness, offering yoga and meditation classes and special healthy diets to complement the many body treatments available.
Beach Retreats
For those in search of the ultimate beach retreat, or perhaps those who regularly stay in hotels on business and therefore prefer to avoid them on holiday, we offer a choice of private villas and apartments. Elegant and stylish or thatch-roofed and romantic, each property combines the comfort and service levels of a luxury hotel along with unrivalled space and privacy. .
When to go
Enjoying a subtropical climate, with relatively little seasonal variation in temperature, Mauritius offers the perfect holiday weather throughout the year. Summer runs from November to May (high season) with average temperatures reaching 30°C during the day. Winter runs from May to October, the coolest months being July and August when temperatures average a very pleasant 20°C to 25°C.
There is no rainy or monsoon season. Cyclones can occur during the hot summer months, though it is rare for them to actually make landfall on Mauritius.
