Dating back to the 10th century, Sóller is a thriving town whose narrow winding streets are home to a cluster of colonial mansions leading to the main square, Plaça de la Constitucio. Dominated by the Church of Sant Bartomeu, the square bustles with life. Colourful cafes, restaurants and bars have outdoor spaces on the wide tree-lined pavements where you can watch the trams weave their way out of town, journeying through orange and lemon groves to the chic Puerto Sóller.

Palma is an hour away by a scenic train whose wooden wagons pass through tunnels carved into the mountains, providing wonderful views of the Mallorquín countryside.

West of Sóller, resting on its hillside setting, Deià has lured painters and writers to its landscapes, captivating and inspiring them through the centuries. This beautiful village is dominated by the bell tower of the 14th century parish church, and picturesque houses descending in terraces, down to the delightful Cala Deià.
