Jonathan conducts all his walks at a natural and relaxed pace, so that you have time to both observe and enjoy your surroundings, as well as chat to the friendly locals! You will visit deserted villages, ancient ruins, secret caves, frescoed Byzantine chapels and some of the most beautiful and haunting landscapes you will ever have seen. All walks are designed to be both fun and interesting, with the opportunity for you to enjoy some delicious meals, often based on home-made organic produce, and normally taken in a little taverna by the sea or in a mountain village. After a hard day’s walking, you will have worked up a good appetite, so eating and drinking are an important part of the tour!

A typical walking day
- After breakfast, you will be transferred by a small coach (1-2 hour’s drive) to the start of the walk (approx. 2-3 hours), followed by lunch stop for about an hour and then continue for another 2 hours. An average day’s walk is between 8 and 12 miles and takes between 4 to 6 hours to complete. Please note, a few of the walks can be quite challenging and a fair degree of fitness is required.
- You start the week with an easy walk to get a feel for the landscape and get to know your fellow walkers. Along the way, you will be walking over a variety of terrains: dirt roads, small goat paths, cobbled footpaths and open countryside, including some gentle uphill and downhill paths.
- At the end of the day, the walk often finishes in a village where you will enjoy a beer or coffee, before the coach arrives to take you back to your hotel.
An information pack will be sent out to you containing details about preparing for the tour, a kit list, suggestions for getting fit, a book list and a draft itinerary.
