Western Crete enjoys a rich cultural, historical and gastronomic past and a way of life that has changed very little over the centuries. The focus of this unique tour is to explore the lesser-known parts of Crete and you will be taken to some hidden Cretan villages, where you will be welcomed into local homes to experience Cretan hospitality and food.

You will concentrate on learning more about the healthy Cretan diet, buy food from an open market and taste some delicious Greek wines. Each day will have a different theme, such as organic olive farming, wine making, traditional crafts and history. There will be some driving (no more than 2 hours per transfer), as well as some gentle walking.

Jonathan Peat has been leading walking holidays and themed trips in Greece and her islands for fifteen years and is a qualified mountain walker and guide, as well as a nature lover. As a child, he had the good fortune to travel extensively throughout Greece and being half - Greek and bilingual, he possesses a great love and understanding of the Greek culture.
