Villa Alba is approached along a narrow lane lined with fragrant fir and eucalyptus, one of two pretty houses enjoying a privileged spot just a stone’s throw from the beach. Couples and families looking for a magical base on this enchanting island can enjoy the best of all worlds here. The secluded garden and private pool couldn’t set a more delightful scene for al fresco lounging and dining and with the beach practically at the end of the garden, a dip in the sea is always an inviting prospect.
Within easy walking distance, you'll find a café and an excellent family-run taverna, specialising in fish but also offering a wide range of local dishes; sitting here by the waterfront to enjoy lunch under the trees is a treat, with the broad panorama of Vathy Bay stretching out before you. Little fishing boats come and go and on a bluff above the cove, two old Venetian cannons still stand guard. The sea is clear enough to watch a myriad of small fish swim back and forth without ever dipping so much as a toe in the water, but we highly recommend a mask and snorkel when bathing, to transport you into their beautiful world.
For a livelier alternative, a 20-minute stroll brings you to the lovely harbour in Vathy with a good choice of cafés, restaurants and shops. Self-drive boats are available for hire here too, if you want to discover more of the island's hidden coves and treasures.
Whilst enjoying its own independence and privacy, Villa Alba can also be rented along with Loutsa Villa and Loutsa Waterside to provide a spacious venue for an extended family gathering or a group of friends.

Customer Feedback Ithaca was beautiful and Villa Alba offered a perfect opportunity to experience the best of that for a first time visit. Having both walking distance to the beach (very close) and a lovely walk along the waterfront to the main town of Vathy, including some fabulous places to eat within minutes walk is really rare to find. The house was very well kept and very private considering there are two other houses in the same area. We absolutely loved our time there and were jealous of our neighbours who were staying on an extra week ! Would definitely return.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The photos on the website don’t do the Villa justice in our opinion. It’s far nicer and more spacious in person. The location of the Villa is outstanding. We would particularly like to mention the local representative who helped us throughout our stay. Judith’s knowledge of the area is outstanding and not only was she all round brilliant she helped us find a lost bag that had all our valuables in it too. Thank you Judith for everything!
It’s not only the resort that makes a good holiday; the travelling to and from are equally important. We have used other villa specialists in the past, but now rely on Simpson Travel to do the job properly. They offer brilliantly located villas which are well equipped and get you there with a minimum of hassle using transfers that are convenient and comfortable. We have just returned from Alba Villa in Ithaca and recommend it for it’s fantastic location a mile north of the lovely harbour town of Vathy with it’s numerous restaurants serving delicious menus, especially using locally caught fresh fish. The walk between town and villa skirts the scenic fiord, along quiet tree lined avenues.
Another first rate holiday in Ithaca. Judith, as ever, was excellent. We are booked to come back next year.
Extremely impressed with both Judith and Marion who both went that extra mile to ensure our holiday was perfect. The booking of boat and yacht hire together with restaurant reservations gave us a hassle free experience that makes Simpsons stand out from all the other travel companies. The personal touches mean so much - Judith’s homemade marmalade and Marion’s arrival drink! What more could be wished for?

We had a wonderful holiday in Ithaca, a most beautiful and friendly island. Arrangements were really straightforward and travelling there and back trouble free. The Simpson staff were unfailingly helpful and we appreciated their guidance on Covid testing and completing Passenger Locator Forms which helped simplify what we had to do.
We had a lovely holiday (as always) with Simpson Travel in Ithaca. Judith, our rep, was extremely helpful and the villa and the island were fantastic. We always know that Simpson Travel will maintain standards and with a short holiday it's important to know what you're going to get. That's always worth paying for. This is the 5th time we have travelled to Greece with Simpson and we look forward to making it a 6th next year.

We had a lovely holiday at Villa Alba, the epitome of ‘a road less travelled’. Sitting on the villa terrace watching the yachts sail by into Vathy was heaven. The position, right in front of the beach, was lovely for a dip and snorkelling. We enjoyed sitting by the water in the local tavernas having dinner and only a five-minute walk away. The rep, Judith, was wonderful. Super helpful and accessible.
Judith was excellent, extremely knowledgeable and gave us some good pointers on where to visit and restaurants. She went beyond the call of duty to ensure everything was perfect for us. Would highly recommend the villas and the Simpson experience.

Our holiday was one of the best we've had in years. So much so that we booked to return to Ithaca next year before the end of our first week. Greta was just excellent – her knowledge of the local area seemed limitless – and our villa was really comfortable and very well equipped. We can't wait for August/September 2018!
We had a fantastic holiday at Villa Alba; it is our second visit there and we really enjoy Ithaca and the whole location and set up of the villa. Litsa, the caretaker/cleaning lady, was so friendly and helpful and was always cheerful. Greta was always helpful and just seems to go the extra mile for us. I expect we will be back, but if not to Villa Alba or Ithaca, we will book with Simpson Travel again, it is so easy and stress free.
