This spectacular island boasts some of the Ionian's most dramatic landscapes and it is the view which takes the breath away when you arrive at Neritos House. Overlooking the entrance to Vathy port, the villa takes in all of Ithacs's splendour, including the island's highest peak Mount Neritos and the distant shores of Lefkada and the Greek mainland.
In this splendid vantage point, our well-appointed and comfortable two bedroom home-from-home is very much at one with its natural surroundings and the pretty gardens enjoy blissful seclusion while also giving easy access to the nearest taverna and bar, a mere 3-minute drive away. The small traditional town of Vathy offers many more waterside tavernas and restaurants with good options for grocery shopping and a number of charming craft shops and boutiques. Bathing and snorkelling in the island's legendary waters is easily achieved via the enchanting little beach a 5-minute drive below the property, and there are many other appealing coves and bays within easy striking distance.
Neritos House is a perfect choice for those wanting to escape the pressures of modern living and enjoy a relaxing break on an island that's remained largely unspoilt by the passage of time. It may have evolved a little since Odysseus' day but the fact that people still return again and again suggest its draw is undiminished. Second visit to Neritos House. We all love the location: close to Vathy but with views that are outstanding and in such a peaceful location with only the sounds of goat and sheep bells. Pool exceptionally well maintained, we hope to return.

Neritos House is lovely with great views and a very convenient location for Vathy and several beaches. But the best thing was that it was beautifully quiet and peaceful; not overlooked and no passing traffic noise to spoil the holiday.
Ithaca is wonderful and having a two centre holiday worked very well as it enabled us to see all over the island without too much driving. The view from Neritos House was spectacular.
Our representative Judith was fantastic and really could not have done more for us. Ithaca was a delight and really unique. My wife and kids simply loved the holiday and I was yet again impressed at the quality of Simpson Travel. This was our twice postponed 2020 holiday and we had a truly wonderful time. During the process of rebooking and reorganising the holiday twice, all the Simpson staff we dealt with were extremely helpful and efficient. Wonderful break as usual with Simpson Travel. Ithaca is a magical, tranquil and friendly island with breath-taking scenery. Our accommodation, Neritos House, was excellent particularly the outside space and views. The sunsets from our terrace were stunning.
What a fantastic villa Neritos House is – with a view that is second to none. We found the privacy excellent and the location too. It seemed that everyone we met could not be nice enough and all were very friendly. Sitting under the stars with a glass of wine was a lovely way to chill at the end of the day. Perfect.
Although we booked very last minute (the day before flying), Simpson Travel managed to arrange everything required from flights, taxi and sea transfers to run exactly to time and efficiently. The standard of the villa was excellent and the vast majority of the Simpson Travel staff were a joy to deal with. I would have no hesitation in recommending Simpson Travel to everyone!

Simpson Travel...you have done it again and again and provided us with a holiday to remember – the house is equipped with everything you need and with the spectacular views by the poolside, simply perfect. You are surrounded by pure beauty and the sound of the crickets, birds and bees. As different as it may be to leave the stunning views you simply must explore this beautiful island. The pool and house were well looked after with our privacy respected, and it's the little touches that made the holiday even more worthwhile.
Recently home from our fifth Simpson Travel holiday, as always the attention to detail was amazing, the transfers (taxi and sea taxi) were seamless. The villa was spotless with nothing left wanting. And the local rep knowledgeable and just a delight. Now...where shall we pick for next year?
What a wonderful place to stay. The villa, the views, the perfect peace. The care and attention by Angeliki and the poolman. Many thanks also to Greta for all her help and advice. The walks on Ithaca have been some of the best walks we have ever done. Most of them have been way-marked although we missed some from time to time and blundered about on rocky hillsides and in dense forests, but the views have been truly spectacular. The view from the archaeological site is the most impressive with the whole of Vathy Bay, the north of Ithaca and beyond. We hope to be back to discover more of this beautiful island.

p>Our first experience of Ithaca was sitting in one of the waterside tavernas watching a Greek wedding taking place. A magical start to a magical week. Our second day was spent as a very lazy Sunday relaxing by the pool and enjoying the wonderful views and atmosphere. We have loved everything about Ithaca – the views, spectacular scenery, the food, the friendliness of the locals. The best day was exploring Ithaca from the sea on a boat – the whole eastern coast from top to bottom. Huge thanks to Greta for her efficiency and knowledge. Our experience from start to finish has been well organised and professional. We will definitely use Simpson Travel again.
It has been a great two weeks which have gone too fast. A perfect day for us is to have a relaxed morning in the pool, have lunch at one of the fantastic tavernas and hit the beach. Do explore the whole island – it is so beautiful. We loved the restaurants, especially Ithaki Mare, Porto (Vathy), Rementzo (Frikes) and best of all Polyphemus in Stavros. The weather, the scenery, the wildlife, the beaches – all gave us the perfect relaxing break. We hired a boat for the day which was a great fun. Finally, Greta is a mine of information and incredibly helpful.
We've had a fantastic two weeks in Ithaca. The villa is in a great location. Close to Vathy, but quiet and private. The views are awesome. The beaches: Gidaki has the clearest water and is very pretty. We recommend a boat trip. Filiatro is busy with great jazz. Poli is probably our favourite: lovely beach, great figs and the best calamari! Restaurants: Libretto is the best on the island with outstanding views; Miles (Kioni) and Rementzo are both very good with great food! Everything we had hoped for. A very friendly welcome from Greta, the Simpson Travel representative, and a very generous hamper of food waiting in the villa. Very private accommodation with a fabulous pool that was cleaned daily in the early hours of the morning, stunning views of a magical island.
Neritos was a lovely house to stay in – we found it peaceful, private and yet near enough to Vathy to enable us to walk to a restaurant every night. Greta was superb and gave great advice on what to see.
Neritos House is fantastic, especially the view and the pool. We have spent many happy hours relaxing on the terrace with our books and the children have loved the pool.
