This smart villa sits in a private résidence in an excellent location just five minutes' drive from the sophisticated resort town of Ile Rousse. The house has everything you need for a relaxing holiday, including a roof terrace and a sandy beach and restaurant within easy walking distance, perfect if you feel like a bottle of the rather fine Cap Corse wine with dinner. Its other great advantage is the private heated swimming pool, a comparative rarity which makes the water much more appealing in early or late season.
The interiors are both stylish and practical; with four en-suite bedrooms it would be ideal for couples holidaying together or a family with older children (no shower squabbles!). The impressive variety of beaches, mountains and historic towns to explore within the local area means there is something to appeal to all ages and interests.
The famous narrow-gauge train known as the U Trinichellu runs close to the villa and can take you all the way to Calvi along the stunning Balagne coastline. You're nearest stop – Marine de Davia – is only a couple of minutes’ drive or a 25-minute walk from the villa.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Corsica – we loved the mountain scenery, the beautiful beaches (one round every corner and what a treat being able to walk to one of the best), the villages, towns and the excellent meals out. The villa was a great base for a family holiday with six adults.
We have all fallen in love with Corsica, such a beautiful island. Very comfortable villa and pool with a perfect beach and restaurant just down the road. Thank you, Debbie, for all your brilliant recommendations. Very sad to leave, 10 days would have been perfect.
Very nicely appointed villa, largely light and airy. Enjoyed the trains and the herding of the goats. The proximity to the little beach is a great plus.
We arrived in the pitch black, late night from Bastia (don't try it!) and wondered if the villa was right. Was there a view? Would it feel homely? What about the pool? Debbie left us a welcome late night picnic and we fell into bed exhausted. The next morning we raised all the shutters, and immediately fell in love with it all - the space, the pool, the sea views, big skies. It's such an easy, comfortable place - maybe an outside light or two for night time would help - but it's mainly just right. Corsica is fab.
Corsica is a great destination and enhanced by very attentive concierge Debbie, who was so helpful and should receive special praise for being there for us in any request or imparting her considerable knowledge of the surrounding area.We would always use Simpsons if we can as they are outstanding in their service to their clients.

Our first holiday with our baby daughter, 17 months old. Villa Mare was the perfect place for us, thank you. We loved waking up to the stunning views each day, having breakfast outside and spending time together by the pool. The location is absolutely perfect for exploring Balagne and north Corsica. We loved taking our daughter to the beautiful beaches along the coast and she loved paddling in the warm shallow water. There is so much more we would have loved to do, hopefully we will be back.
A wonderful week in a lovely villa. We had an excellent time and confirmed our impression from last year that Corsica is just glorious. Great days at Aregno, Jonquidou, Fango Valley, Pigna, St Antonino and Calvi. And a delicious dinner at Le Matahari at Arinella Beach. A great stay. Fantastic week at Villa Mare. Jenny has been really caring and nothing has been too much trouble for her. We loved the villa and local beach and can recommend the beach at Algajola for family swimming. Jenny provided great advice for visiting towns, villages and beaches. We also loved the climb up to the little chapel at Corbara – stunning views. We will return to Corsica and Simpson soon.

Corsica has had a special place in my heart since my first visit in 1987, I have returned many times over the years, I’m never disappointed. Villa Mare was the perfect place for my grown-up family and 9-month-old grandson to stay and help me celebrate my special birthday. We had a wonderful relaxing week exploring the area, including mountain rock pools, walking to the beautiful beach, taking the train to Calvi and watching the sunrise and sunset from the balcony.
The villa was good and we liked the restaurants on the beach. The location was amazing. It was a great first trip to Corsica.

We had a great two weeks in beautiful Corsica – many thanks Jenny! Recommendations include – both the Junquidou and La Vielle Gare – both within walking distance, and further afield: Cantina A Moresca, Pigna; Padula on Algajola beach; Cala di Sole in Costa (D71) – where you can see kites feed and enjoy a traditional Corsican song from the proprietor! We will be back!

Lovely place – good location. The beach is fantastic and the restaurant (Junquidou) is great, as is the Vielle Gare at the other end of the beach. Loved the port and recommend swimming in the Fango Valley, Calvi (the Resto restaurant has fab views over the Marina), Ile Rousse just for sitting and watching the world go by, morning market is great and the open-air market on the roundabout into Ile Rousse is great for fruit and veg. Thanks Jenny for your top tips – very sorry to be leaving!

A very successful week at Villa Mare. The villages of Pique and Sant Antonina were amazing – very Tuscan feel with beautiful views of the sea and mountains.
We have had just the best, best of times at Villa Mare. Great location for the beach and so close to all the amenities but for us the swimming pool here is the biggest draw. Absolutely loved it! Our second holiday booked with Simpson in two years, and this holiday was as good as the first. We know that we can rely on Simpson Travel to have quality villas, in beautiful unspoilt areas, and with the advantage of a friendly knowledgeable rep or concierge in the background should you need it. Villa Mare, between Ile Rousse and Calvi, was quite simply superb for our holiday with older teens – nobody wanted to come home, which says it all!

Villa Mare – a superb new find for Simpson Travel – top quality for comfort and location. Walking distance to an idyllic beach, clean and safe for bathing, and close enough to the historic and chic town of Ile Rousse and the other villages of the Balagne. Sitting in the centre of the plot, this property gives shade or sun on four sides – important in the shoulder months when the sun drops earlier behind the mountain. I am sure this will be a very popular property.

Simpson Travel has never let us down on administration or on the quality of the properties provided. Villa Mare in Corsica was the perfect holiday property for a group of adults, secluded but with access to a lovely beach and clear turquoise sea. Plenty of local restaurants and other recreational facilities are within a short drive. You can rely on having a wonderful holiday with no nasty surprises, and always the Simpson Travel personal touch.

We have had a fabulous holiday. Lovely weather, an amazing coastline, the local beach is a must – clean, clear water and a very good beach bar. Lovely villa, we have all enjoyed our stay and would come again.
